| I think we are going for a world record of highest numbers of club captains sold per decade. Not good for the morale of the players and the stability of the club.
But from a footballing point of view replacing Zauri with Lichtsteiner and actually making a profit out of the two deals makes perfect sense. plus, apparently he was one fo the rebels against Rossi, so we did not have much choice but to sell him.
I will still remember him fondly, though.

| Good luck Zauri, you have been good for us but last year when you were a captain you failed to lead by example and cost us alot with stupid sending offs and poor defensive displays.
The relationship had run it's course.

| Zauri's departure symbolises the end of an era and the dawning of a new day. I, personally, am very sad to see him go and I wish him all the best at Fiorentina where he will probably be playing Champions League football. That, my friends, says enough to be about the quality of this guy and it's a true shame to lose him, but needs must and now is as good a time as any.
All the best Luciano, you will remain fondly thought of in my heart.

| Yeah, good luck. But i must say i never was a fan of Luciano and many time's i wondered what is he doing on the pitch. I certainly will not miss him and i am very happy with this deal. It's time for more minutes for much more talented players than Zauri like Kolarov and Radu. | |

| Viola fans slam door on Zauri
Luciano Zauri has pledged to win over the Fiorentina fans after they greeted him with stony silence due to past indiscretions.
The former Lazio man gained notoriety in Viola circles when he punched the ball off the line at the Stadio Olimpico on May 22, 2005.
The incident was not spotted by the referee or linesman and Lazio went on to grab a 1-1 draw that threatened to see the Tuscans relegated.
“It was an ugly incident and some things are just wrong,” conceded Zauri in today’s tense presentation Press conference.
“At that moment I let my instinct guide me. I am certainly not proud of that gesture. I was afraid this move would collapse because of it and I would be sorry if the fans treated me badly.
“I can only apologise now, as I did then. My performances on the field will be the judge and I hope to convince even the most hostile supporters.”
The atmosphere was immediately unusual for the presentation of a new signing, as Zauri turned up to the training ground with fans watching in total silence.
Protests greeted rumours of his arrival over the past few days and some supporters are threatening to hand back their season tickets.
“I thank the club and the Coach,” continued Zauri. “It is an honour to wear the Viola jersey. Fiorentina are a very important club and I didn’t think twice when asked to come here.”
He is only on a loan deal from Lazio with the option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.
“I hope to convince the club to keep me on next year. I want to stay as long as possible. In recent years I have often played down the left side of midfield, but I am also prepared to place in the centre or at right-back.”

The truth is , after Radu came, Zauri turned more or less to not so attractive player for us.

| Good deal...
From a footballing point of view only, I think Zauri could still have been useful to Lazio as a substitute. He is a versatile player who could have covered both the left central defence as a substitute and been a back-up for Kolarov on the left flank...
But you don´t go from being the captain to suddenly be a substitute without problems. At least that´s not very likely in this case. Given that Zauri has been involved in many problems regarding the general atmosphere in the team last season (at a time when he even was the captain) I think there is no other way than to get rid of him.
You just have to wonder why his contract was renewed just about one year ago ?? the short term planning in Lazio is appaling...
A shame that it isn´t a permanent deal though. I suppose we will be fighting with our many outcasts for many years to come. Well done Lotito...

| have any one read Zauri comments on Lazio once he is Fiorentina player! It is really strange and shameful to slam Lazio treatment on you by saying that they didn't respect him esp he was the Capitan last year and above all he served 5 years in Lazio.
There may be some truth in his claims, but last year you was involved in breaking the dress room and showed lack of respect to the Lazio, too. But the thing that I really cann't swallow that he is still a Lazio player and most likely Fiorentina will kick him by the end of the season back to Lazio, the side he is blasting currently!!
I am speechless, you should become a diplomatic in these situtations Zauri, and that speakes enough for me about your attitudes and behavior that I always do beleive that you don't deserve to become a capitan or even a player for S.S.Lazio.
Good luck where ever you go!
