I thought Huntelaar would've made an impact by now. Yeah, Sile's right, it's still early but Milan looks pretty average.

Inter sneeked another win at the death, just like they did last year against Udinese. Good goal by Sneijder, but this win was barely deserved at all. If anything, Udinese should be walking away with three points. Di Natale took his tally to nine now, but he should be on ten after missing a sitter in the dying embers

I know Inter didn't seem so domineering, but I thought Udinese looked good. Up to the task at least. A sure goal scorer, good distribution from the middle and what looks to be a solid backline despite injuries.

Anyone see Rioma - Napoli?

Saw shades of the first half replay during breakfast this morning. It was supposed to be Palermo - Juventus live. The first half was pretty dull. A few decent attacks by both sides but not really troubling the goalkeepers. Ranierimerda had to make 2 changes before halftime.

Lavezzi's turn was nice, his shot was accurate but really should have been dealt with better by Lobont. He didn't even get a finger on it - then again there were a few players in the way. Lavezzi's celebration was interesting though, flipping against the billboard onto the ground.

Tottimerda's goal was another fluke. Cross from the wing, Perotta half shot the ball (more like a slice) and it managed to ricochet off Tottina's thigh, and sneak into the top post. De Sanctis and the defense hoped for an offside call (unfortunately it wasn't). Then De Rossi ran past De Sanctis and pushed and said something to him. It was deliberate and it really pissed me off cos whatever Riomma and their players do it goes unpunished.

P.S. Riomma, once again, exhibited some nicely composed and routinised dives. Cerci, Totti and Perotta to name but a few have been working hard on the training pitch. It clearly shows. Oh how I hate those vomit colored baboons. cheers

Very. Which is why I'm disappointed it happened.

Glad Rossi didn't go there though. Still got a lot of respect for him and it'd hurt to see him in charge of such a club.

Donadoni was never a good move. Not for the NT, and not for the thieves.

Mazzari, on the other hand, is a good choice for them and I think he can gain control over the team and make them perform. They have a great team and should be able to turn things around...

Di Natale is amazing. Just cant stop scoring. Impressive.

Great move by Napoli I must admit, Mazzari is a excellent manager and frankly I was suprised he was not snaped up in the summer.

Di Natale has had an incredible start, 9 in 7 now I think. I wonder if he can break the 30 barrier, and become I think only the second guy to do so since 1959, Toni being the other. Time will tell.

Great point from Fiorentina, Juve have looked shaky in recent weeks and somewhat blew their chance of making a speedy recovery. The chances were most definitely there.

As for Genoa, they were a well-oiled machine last season who were unlucky not to make the CL. I thought they might just shock Inter this weekend but the wheels have finally fallen off that wagon and it's been coming. Was ignorant of me to think otherwise.

Agreed Caxi.

Fiorentina starting to look like a genuine threat to the big teams in both Serie-A and Europe. Hopefully they can now go on and beat Debrecen away in CL.

As for Genoa, talk about a complete capitulation. Kharja will be sorley missed for the rest of the season, but thats no excuse. Inter send out a message to the rest of Europe. Great result, with no Eto'o or Milito. Its safe to say that Maicon is by miles the best Right Back in the world. Also the CB pairing of Lucio-Samuel, has the potential to be the best in Europe.

Interesting comments.

Yes, Fiorentina is becoming quite the story.
Yes, Maicon is easily the world's best right-back.
Yes, Lucio and Samuel could be immense.
Yes, Stankovic's goal was sick.
Yes, Genoa will miss Kharja terribly.

Serie A is back with a bang. I really feel we are seeing somewhat of a resurgence this season. It's getting interesting...

PostSubject: Re: Italy - Serie A   Italy - Serie A - Page 33 EmptySun Oct 18, 2009 9:29 am

Just saw highlights of both matches.....

Inter really destroyed Genoa - and without Eto'o and Milito. Sneijder had a very good game. All the goals were class - especially Stankovic giving it to Amelia the Riommanista. Maicon's goal looked offside. I knew Genoa would find it difficult this season with the absence of Milito and Motta and this type of match really showed why - and now with Kharja out for several months it won't help. I hope they recover though, they're a good side and shouldn't be losing to Inter 5-0.

As for the other match, IMO Juve were unlucky not to get the full 3 points. Fiorentina did not create many chances, but defended well and Frey once again proved why he is among the worlds top goalkeepers. Jovetic's assist to Vargas was real nice. Amauri should be pleased after finally breaking his duck but he also wasted several chances.

Looking forward to tomorrow. Hope for a Lazio win and a Merda loss! Very Happy

In terms of The Prediction League.

Note that Cristian Maggio scored Napoli's winner and not Hamsik. Simple mistake by livescore. Everywere else awards the goal to Maggio with the assist from Lavezzi.

Couldnt post it in the relevent topic because it appears to be locked.

Anywho. Good start for Mazzari.

AC Milan 0-1 Roma. 3 Minutes In.

Terrible error by Silva. Woefully short back-pass, Menez accepts the gift and scores.

Menez missed another good chance on 5 minutes.

We havent beaten Milan in the league in over 7 years if not more.

If we cant do it this season, then something is seriously wrong.

Id be shocked if Milan make Top 8.

Silva is flirting with disaster, always tugging shirts in the box, Menez is giving him an awful time and if Leonardo does'nt to sth about it another loss is looming for milan.

Why am I even watching this game?

Doni gets a yellow card in the 52nd minute for procrastinating with the goal kick and holding up play.

Nesta DIVES BLATANTLY and it's 1-1, Dinho from the spot.

Awful awful game

2-1 Milan.

Wonderful crossfield ball from Dinho for Pato to control on the chest, round Doni and finish superbly.

Dinho has amazingly made the diffrence.
