Not long to go before season 6 starts.

Got my MVFC season ticket today, should be an average year for us IMO. Archie out all year and we havnt signed a striker as replacement. 2 other strikers sold during the break which leaves us with 1 striker (Kruse) on the books & a heap of midfielders trying to fill the void. Its going to be a long miserable season IMO.

Cant wait for the opening game at our new stadium, looks awesome. Also we have a city rival now, welcome Melbourne Heart FC, may your organisation be filled with failure & incompetence forever and on. Melbourne Heart Merda!!!

Starts next week right Kris?

Looking forward to this season. Mainly to see how the Wellington Phoenix will do after their success last season, as well as NZ's in the World Cup. Herbert has signed some good players, including Australian's Mirijan Pavlovic and Jade North, and on paper the squad looks better than last seasons but only time will tell.

Will be interesting to see how Melbourne Heart do in their debut season. They've had a good off season and signed some big and experienced players which will surely help the side settle in.

I think Perth could have a good year. They've signed Robbie Fowler from North Queensland (still going strong), held onto players like Sikora and Sterjovski, and resigned the likes of central defender-turned-striker Jaime Harnwell. Youth may not be on their side, but experience and composure certainly are.

Starts tomorrow Boris (Thu night AEST) Heart vs Central Coast.

Im of the opinion that Gold Coast will be better off for their initial season. As long as Smeltz stays put after his Chinese cock tease, i reckon they'll be the goods.

im really into betting, so i'll also start with monitoring this league because the coefficients are almost always big even for the "big" teams...
these are for this week:
Australian A-League 2010/11 Season 12630183

p.s. any suggestion ?
i really think that Perth will win and the coefficient is 1.7 and for 1-1(from 1 to 1/first-second half) is 2.7

Zoki,

Perth is a certainty in this fixture. Without a doubt they will rape Nth Queensland.

OMG what a game(Perth 3-3 Fury)...first time i watch Australian league and i must say that im impressed..even now im little mad about not wining Perth because i play that game at the betting ticket (i lose just little money) fuckking Fury score in 92'min ....
also i was very surprised for seeing Robbie Fowler the Liverpool legend in Perth jersey... i notice some players with Macedonian origin - Sterjovski (btw why he was playing striker ? - i thought the he was playing wing back) , also Naum Sekulovski...than i check also Perth squad at the net and i see Alex Vrtreski was there also affraid - he was playing in my home town team "Pobeda" which is now banned now until 2018....
anyway good offensive football even with many mistakes, also the stadium was full and loud...interesting celebration by the Fury players (they where jumping like a canguru bounce bravo Australian league

Sorry about the bad tip Zoran. Everyone thought that Perth would waltz in for this fixture.

Sterjovski was never a wing back, before he went to europe, he always played as a striker. It was only in Europe that he was turned into a right attacking winger.

Once back in Australia, with his quality, he was always going to revert back to that 2nd striker/attcking midfielder position.

Seeing as my tips are jinxed, i suggest you bet on Sydney to beat Melbourne Wink

Im glad you enjoyed your first glimpse of the A-League cheers

Along with Fowler, we've had Jardel, Romario, Kazu Miura, Richard Kitzbichler, Geoffrey Claeys, Dwight Yorke, Charlie Miller, Michael Bridges, Juninho, Benito Carbone, Victor Sikora, Bobby Petta, Ian Ferguson, Karol Kisel & even our very own Vignaroli play down here.

The league is only 6 years old, and id like to think we have a decent level of quality here, maybe on par with the English Championship?

don't worry Kris i was thinking the same...also that Sterjovski miss 100% chance im not sure if you watch but he was one to one with the goalkeeper and he miss the goal...anyway, you really think that Sydney will beat you're team ? i notice that you have Billy Celeski - is he good ? because i think that Macedonia was calling him to play for us but i think he make 1 game for senior Australian team and now he can't play for Macedonia..but recently i hear that he was "crying" because he was not called to play in the WC for Australia...
..and from what ive seen today at that game the atmosphere was great also the players agility and enjoying playing...the player who score the second goal for Perth went to crowd and make hugs with the fans

Billy (Blagoja) was injured for the past 12 months with a knee re-construction. I think the player who was crying about not getting selected was Sasa Ognenovski.

Yeah, I'm sure it was him. When Ognenovksi is on form he is a quality central defender IMO and good enough to play for Australia no doubt.

I also think the A-League has developed very well for the 6 years its been around and hopefully it continues that way.

On another note, it would be sensational if Australia get World Cup 2022. I know they pulled out of the 2018 running, but they're going all out for 2022 and I have a lot of confidence and support in their bid. Fingers crossed the Aussies get it!!

Would be epic if it was hosted down under. Even better is that the host will be announced in December this year (correct me if im wrong).

If Australia gets it, and we have an 11 year run up to promote the game, im sure soccer here will get the kick start it so desperatley needs. At the moment, our code is the poor cousin to AFL Football & Rugby.

Let's be honest guys, Australia would smelling as all over Qatar in terms of hosting a WC.

And that's with all due respect to any friends from Qatar.

There's a guy who plays here in Adelaide called Adam Hughes. The man is an absolute donkey, one of the worst footballers I've seen play.

Thing is, while playing for Drogheda in the Irish league, he made the Irish team of the year.

Just sayin'.

A Drogheda United team that hit the crossbar/bar twice trying to score a goal that would have put Dynamo Kiev out of the CL, a Dynamo Kiev side that made semis of UEFA Cup.

Just saying... tongue
