To be fair, either he can't be that good or ready yet, or Rossi was just a hopeless judge of defenders (now who'd have thought!). It wasn't as if he was being denied a place by top class defenders was it?! I would have thought there were times when surely Siviglia should have been dropped/rested(!) and Tuia should have come in. I doubt he'd have been any worse. I remember discussions about how his confidence could be shot if he messed up when put in the first team but in my mind it would be worse to know you are behind players who make mistakes all the time and then find yourself loaned to C1.. hardly the best confidence booster. It will be interesting to see how his future turns out now.

Nesta came through about 15 years ago, Italian football has since changed. Mass budget cuts and the fact that non-A clubs are going bust every year means that they will take talent and develop it for the bigger clubs to save money. The end result is a set of very strong lower divisions made up of the best youth in the country and ex-stars.

Its just the way now to loan talent to Serie B or a lower club in A (note: not C1, and this is where the move fails)

Why he didn't go to another club in A?? Because he is not a Milan, Inter or Juventus player. These clubs control the market and it is their players who go on loan in A.

I agree, Serie A has changed but the human psyche has not. It is best for players to grow within the club but of course, this is not always feasible.

There can only be two reasons why Tuia isn't in Serie B. Either he is not good enough to feature regularly for a Serie B side or Monza offered more $$$$$$$.

Simple as.

Probably the latter.
Frosinone and Crotone are small clubs even by Serie B standards. Although when dealing with a 19 year old starlet, money shouldn't be the first consideration.

I'm quite certain Tuia is good enough, regardless of whether he'll ever reach Nesta's standard or not, he is still of a high quality.

People seem confident and convinced about his quality. I havent seen him play enough to actually have a deep and proper idea about his game, but I do know that lots of players are seen as potential stars when young, only to grow up and become average players when they take the step to play with senior squads.

I would like to see him play regularly in a senior team to get an idea of how good he really is. He is 19 now, and should be one or two years away from being a starter for Lazio, if he is as good as we have heard he is.I think we shouldnt compare him to Nesta, as a player like Nesta will not occur that easily. I only wish him to be skilled enough to become a starter for Lazio within the next few seasons. We need a starter with roots in the youth academy...

He has been called up by Casiraghi for the Italian under-21 squad, as this next generation prepares for the next U21 championships.

Congratulations Ale, I hope Italia qualify (of course) and he can get some experience against the best from other countries.

wow i thought loaning him to a 3rd or 4th division meant he is over, this is a good thing.

After selling macheda, lorenzo, loaning ettore tuia, been very depressing that lazio doesnt have a place for its youth
