Argentina passport scandal

A federal argentinian judge is making a big investigation to an international group that is giving fake italian passports to about 150 footballers, theres already 20 person in jail.
The first report was made by italian embassy in Buenos Aires and are involved most of the most important footballers managers.
The investigation include the Juan Pablo Carrizo's and Germán Denis's italian citizenship.

he's registered as a non EU player so this doesnt affect Lazio, ie he will not be suspended

but he might personally get fined

Did Carrizo obtain Italian passport at all ? And as c.testa mentioned this shouldn't bother us.....

The most involved are the manager, they can be punished ... just one argentinian club, Lanús, is investigated now. .. nothing happened with River.
Anyway theres a big list of argetinian playing in EU wich passports are investigated.

this is a legal issue rather than a footballing issue, so surely a player/manager could potentially get jail over this?

At this point, it seems certain that Lazio is not involved in the scandal...

Some rumours in Argentina suggested that Carrizo and Denis (striker signed by Napoli) were involved, probably because Carrizo´s agent Sabbaq, who is a powerful agent in the Argentine transfermarket, appears to be part of the scandal...

Those rumours were consequently dismissed by Lazio though, saying there are no problems with Carrizo and since the keeper is registered in Italy with his Argentine passport and he never obtained an Italian passport, it should be certain that the player cannot be involved.

I will move this topic to "Mixed Zone" because it´s interesting but thankfully it is not involving Lazio at this point...
