THE LAZIOFEVER DERBY MEETING 11-04-2009

Hello Lazio friends,

Laziofever is once again organizing THE DERBY MEETING as we did in the past 5 years.
There will be some changes this time regarding the tickets. Recently we were able to strike a deal with SS Lazio allowing our members to reserve tickets and buy them directly in the new ticket office and official Lazio shop in via Calderini. This means that this year Laziofever will not buy the tickets in advance, we will only count every name on the list and report to SS Lazio how many tickets they should reserve.

Then it's each members responsibility to go there with the passport and buy the tickets yourself in Via Calderini. The tickets will be available at the shop until 12:30 match-day.

This is the first step toward a better contact with SS Lazio regarding foreign tickets. And Laziofever is just in the middle of this connection.

Therefore, this year it's enough to write your full name in this thread (or if you preferre, in a PM to Weninho) to confirm that you're coming. Please note that we're going to cooperate with Lazio on this matter and we therefore ask you to include your name only if you're SURE to be there.

Laziofever will organize a dinner in Rome, as usual, for those who are interested.

This year we're looking at the possability to create an own banner to bring to the stadium. We would like to know if this is an idea that you like and are willing to support.

The official Laziofever Derby-meeting

Game: SS Lazio vs Roma.

Date: April 11th, Stadio Olimpico.

Hotel and accomodations: Hotel Sallustio
Hotel Sallustio is located very central in Via Flavia, which is also within walking distance of our general meeting point during the Derby Meeting, Piazzale Porta Pia. The Hotel is also close to metro connections and the famous sights of central Rome. Laziofever recommend our members to book their accomodation at Hotel Sallustio, since we have an agreement with them that includes a small discount.

We are going to plan an official dinner for Laziofever members at a restaurant in Rome. Before we can make reservations at a restaurants we need to know the exact number of members attending the derby meeting, therefore further info will be made available later on.

Transportations: To go to Stadio Olimpico from Stazione Termini, the easiest way is to take the bus to Flaminio (near Piazza del Popolo). From there change to the tram and go to Piazza Mancini (near Stadio Olimpico). From there you cross the river and walk the last way to the stadium.

To the ticket store: To go to Lazio Style 1900 (old Lazio Cento) the easiest way is to take the bus to Flaminio (near Piazza del Popolo). From there change to the tram and go to Piazza Mancini. There it's within walking distance.

In order to create a good atmosphere and keep the planning as simple as possible for us, we kindly ask our members to follow those simple instructions:

1) You're only entitled to ask us to reserve a ticket if you're a well known Laziofever-member.
2) You're only entitled to ask us to reserve a derby-ticket if you're 18 years or older.
3) Reservation deadline: will be decided soon.

We suggest the Distinti Nord (aside Curva Nord). The ticket price is not yet official but should be around €25.

Note: Laziofever.org is not a ticket service. We forward the number of members attending the meeting to SS Lazio and then our members will buy the tickets from SS Lazio themselfs.

At the moment there are no problems in asking us to reserve tickets and we strongly suppose things will stay this way. However, there is one issue that you applying for a derby ticket are entitled to be made aware of:

Two years ago, the Italian government established a new special institution called Il Comitato di Analisi sulle Manifestazioni Sportive (CASMS). CASMS was established for safety reasons due to the violence and fan riots that created problems all over Italy. CASMS have the power, if necessary, to either change the ticket rules for a particular game, decide a game is to be played for closed doors or even stop a game. The decision can be made as close as three days prior to the game start. Their decision will be final, even if tickets have already been sold and visitors for example have booked and planned their stay in Rome.

What this means for all our forum members that already declared their interrest in us reserving a ticket, is that Laziofever can not do anything if CASMS decide to change the rules before the derby. If something happens in any of the games leading up to the derby, they have the power even decide that the Derby is going to be played for closed doors, which in worst case could lead to the situation that no one can get to the game.

This is, as we said, worst case scenario. But we still feel it's our duty to tell all our members and inform about the situation. Laziofever can't guarantee a ticket to the game, all the requests for us to reserve a ticket are made at own "risk". But of course we will do our best and it's our strong belief that everything will work out as planned.

When is the deadline to say if you can come? I am 99% sure of coming,but I havnt bought tickets yet. And is it DEFINITE that the game will be played on saturday and NOT on sunday? (It is logic yes, as it is easter sunday on sunday,but still)

As for where the tickets are reserved, I have not been talking with Ermetico about this, but I assume if you don't say anything different it's going to be Distinti Nord (Ermetico, feel free to confirm).

The sooner the better regarding the deadline, but you still have some weeks to decide. The exact deadline is going to be announced later on.

trying to find a nice place to stay during the weekend of the game...remember there was a hotel giving good deals for the last derby - is that an option this time as well?

The deadline for the tickets will be announced later on. At the moment we're not sure exactly when, but my guess is that two weeks is ok.

The date and time for the dinner is not yet decided. Info about everything arranged by Laziofever will be posted in this thread as soon as we have more information.

Yes, it is. In Italy they only play on Saturday during the Easter weekend. One game at 20:30 CET, the rest at 15:00 CET.
