Mark (NED) - My Experience - LAZ-NAP '08

Thanks to the great help of Ermetico I was last week able to acquire a ticket for the match Lazio-napoli. I had a great experience and would like to share it with all of you.
As you know the match was only open to season ticket holders, and as the Curva Nord was in protest only around 4 to 5000 people were present at the stadium. To see the stadium so empty and without the Curva Nord, something I had never seen before was really strange. The stadium was really silent, eventhough the few fans that were there tried to let there voices be heard. I was seated at the Monte Mario section, an area were surprisingly also alot of napoli supporters were seated.
Before the match I had a great experience, after picking up my ticket, I walked towards a Lazio Cento stand outside the Monte Mario section of the stadium. When looking at their merchandise all of a sudden Delio Rossi was coming in my direction, as he was serving his ban he was on his way to the stands. Assembling all my courage I decided to approach him and shake his hand. Mr. Rossi was really nice and polite, I told him I came from Holland to support Lazio, something he found impressive. This short meeting with our coach was really amazing to me, simply awesome.
The match was fun to watch and even if we had noting to play for I found myself fanatically encouraching the team, the 2-1 victory and Tomasso's and Fabio's goals were really nice. All in all I think the match was pleasant to watch. napoli had some chances as well but we scored at the right times.
I am really looking forward to next season, I can not wait to see the Eagle fly again.

Eventhough Lazio have experienced a dramatic decrease in attendances over the last decade, it´s great that not only 60.000 - 70.000 spectators can create a memorable atmosphere. Sometimes it´s just those moments that makes a trip memorable...

So true, I hope more people will be convinced to make the trip of their live, I'm still grateful for you guys for having convinced me a few years ago!

Amazing also and something I forgot to mention in my post, the reaction of the crowd when inter scored and later one with the equaliser of catania. Even if attendance was low, the crowd gave such a roar and everbody was jumping and screaming, beautifull.

I've never been but I think I will at some point in my life. I hope it isn't like this in Rome but my friend told me his brother wasn't allowed into Modena's stadium because he was English!
