| Lazio are going back to Auronzo Di Cadore for their summer training camp. The team will arrive on the 10th July\ dep 21julyAfter the Coppa Italia celebrations there will be a deserved rest in the Venetian locality, the same place as last year, to regenerate the team for the coming season. Here's a quick guide to the area: 864m above sea level with a population of 4000, Auronzo is the longest valley of Cadore stretching 8km. It consists of 11 suburbs : Cima Gogna, Cella, Villapiccola, Rizio, Raene, Pause, Ligonto, Giralba, S.Marco and Misurina which run from the Southern Slopes of the Aiarnola mountain to the S. Caterina lake. The construction of the dam provides the area with motorboat contests and canoeing. The most immense building of the region is the church of San Giustina a Villagrande. There is also a neo-classical style 16th century church S. Caterina in Cella and the church S. Luciano in Villapiccola. Overlooking Auronzo are Le Tre Cime (3 tops) of Lavaredo in the mountains; I Cadini, la Croda dei Toni and il Corno del Doge offer a paradise for mountain climbers and was the ground of a fierce battle during the First World War. To Palus S.Marco is the Somadida forest were lumber was taken for ship building. The area is also famous for lead mining, zinc and silver. All are now exhausted. It is believed that the early dwellers of the valley were inhabited from pagan populations of the Indo-European origin. A Roman age was discovered in an archaeological dig dating back to XXX. Roman coins were found representing the Consul Manilo Aquilio (129 BC) and the Emperor Gallieno (260-268 dc). The area is easily accessible by many means of transportation.By Car: From the South: Auronzo is reached with the highway A27 from Mestre a Pian di Vedoja (Belluno) and connect to the Strada Statale (SS) 51. In Tai di Cadore follow signs for Auronzo-Comelico (SS 51). Once in the Comune di Lozzo di Cadore, follow signs for Auronzo (SS52) go past Cima Gogna (SR 48) and the expressway for Comelico, the D'Ansiei valley is found surrounded by the majestic 'Three Tops of Lavaredo'. From the north: Take the Brennero highway A22. Take the Bressanone exit and on to the SS road in the direction of Dobbiaco, then the expressway for Cortina d'Amprezzo continuing in the direction of Misurina and from there down to Auronzo. Airports: Treviso, Venezia, Verona and Innsbruck in Austria. Venezia airport is close to the Mestre-Venice railway line and bus services. Railway: Close to Auronzo is Calalzo di Cadore 15 km away. The main railway line is the Venice-S.Lucia-Calalzo di Cadore. From the station in Calalzo there are bus services available for Auronzo and Misurina in correspndance with the trains. Where to stay: The district of Auronzo and Misurina has around 6000 places, various accomodations, to suit all needs. | Special rates and deals are available for any Lazio fan wishing to go to Auronzo. http://www.sslazio.it/cms/view/home/news/archivio/elenco_news/auronzo_di_cadore_le_offerte_per_i_tifosi_della_lazio/s152/c2605Fans travelling to Auronzo will have plenty of chances to see the players and talk to them. Paolo informs me that the area is beautiful so a 2 star hotel is more than enough. Also, as usual LFever members will have some privilages... As you can see from the poster above there are some events for the fans, the program includes: Presentation of the squad, Party in honour of the team, Biancoceleste night, Friendly football matches. | |

Thanks Gio Lazio for the topic. Auronzo deserve a short vactation for: Climate, Place, Hotel, food, beers, and la LAZIO. Auronzo has many places ( see the links) at affordable prices and a 2 star hotel is better then a 4 star Hot in Rome!! Ciao

I know it's a bit out the way but Auronzo can be easily reached by train from Rome if you have the time.

What is Albergo Garni?? And about the Bed and Breakfast offer. In hotel, stars..... An Albergo is a hotel, Albergo Garni is, i'm assuming, the name of the hotel. Bed and Breakfast is usually a family run board house (shorter term, nicer place). You get a room, usually pretty nice too, and breakfast. They don't normally have star ratings because they are not hotels.

It is quite far... My suggestion would be, if you're driving from Estonia, to drop in either on the way to Rome or the way back. You will drive quite close to it i'd imagine to get to Rome anyway.

if you go to the training camp there should be no problem to see the players, you could probably meet a few depending on how busy it is. Take pictures!

| Update from AuronzoSecond day of training in Auronzo infront of 200 fans. Ballardini was testing out tactics. He divided the players up into small groups: GK: Muslera, Bizzarri and Berni, who worked with coach Grigioni. Rightbacks: De Silvestri, Scaloni and Lichtsteiner Centre-rights: Sivilgia and Diakite Centre-lefts: Stendardo, Rozehnal and Cribari Leftbacks: Radu and Kolarov Centre-right midfiled: Ledesma, Brocchi and Meghni Centre-left midfield: Dabo, Firmani and Quadri Trequartista: Foggia and Del Nero Right wing: Eliseu Left wing: Zarate and Manfredini Other attacking mids: Pandev, Mauri and Correa Forwards: Inzaghi, Rocchi and Kozak All these groups were preparing for Davide's idea of a 4-2-3-1 formation. The first line up was: (4-2-3-1) -----------Rocchi------------ Zarate----Mauri----Foggia --Dabo---------Brocchi---- Kolarov-Cribari-Siviglia-Lichti -----------Muslera------------ The second line up tested was: (4-2-3-1) -----------Inzaghi---------- Del Nero--Pandev---Eliseu --Ledesma---Firmani----- Radu-Rozehnal-Diakite-De Silvestri -----------Bizzarri---------- These were an indication of what he will be trying in tonights friendly. I, personally am a big fan of the 4-2-3-1 formation, hope it works out. Makinwa and Matuzalem did not take part in the session and are unlikely to feature in the friendly. http://www.lalaziosiamonoi.it/?action=read&idnotizia=6024 | |
