| The "asromammerda" corporation proudly presents: When, where, how and why the hell were the merde founded? The difficulties met in the attempt to find some answers The first problem that I met was the date of foundation. Now, the year is 1927, there is no doubt about that. The problem is when it comes to the day. I couldn’t find a general consensus. In this situation of doubt, I followed the mainstream, arguing that the date of foundation is 22nd of July. Now, this date is supported by the result, by majority voting, of a poll held some time ago, so we should give it credit. Concerning the fact that there is still a not general consensus, the only thing we can do is hope that they should manage to agree on a date before the centenary comes (they still have some time). After solving the riddle of the date of foundation, my research kept going smoothly. Roma was created by merging three pre-existing football clubs Alba, Roman and Fortitudo (all of them trashed many times by Lazio already). Well, I have to say that imho there is not much honour in being created in such a way but you know… it happened! Sure it’s not their fault. Simply, they were not as lucky as us. They took the name of the city, the colours of the council. Where would you then expect them to have their first football ground? In the city centre, of course. You can’t imagine my disappointment when I found out that that they did not! In their first period they used to train at Velodromo Appio, outside the city. What’s puzzling is that I couldn’t find this info on their website… you would think that they are ashamed in saying that do not belong to roma and omitted that. I don’t think so. They just forgot. You could think that the most disappointing thing in this research was to have to look at their so inelegant colours (to say the least). No, thankfully I have a strong stomach. The problem, seriously, was that there was not much information. “Shit, how is this possible?” I thought “I’m sure that there is something wrong. A great football club so important as asroma must has certainly played a great role in Italian football. Yes, right, clubs like Inter, Juve, Milan and Lazio have been founded before so deserve a bigger honour, but that’s only a matter of few clubs. Damnit, I’m sure Roma comes just afterwards, and of course they must be among the very first football clubs in Italy. So I decide to do a bit of research on that, here follows the list.” Lazio 1900 Alessandria1912 Ancona1905 Atalanata1907 Avellino1912 Avezzano1909 Bologna1909 Brescia1911 Cagliari1920 Campobasso 1919 Carpi 1909 Castelnuovo1922 Catanese1908 Cervia 1920 Como1907 Cosenza1914 Cremonese1903 Empoli1920 Faenza1912 Fermana1920 Fiorenzuola1922 Fiorerntina1926 Giorgione1911 Giulianova1924 Gualdo 1920 Gubbio 1910 Imolese 1919 Inter1908 Lecce1908 Lecco 1912 Livorno 1915 Lucchese 1905 Maceratese 1922 Marsala 191912 Meta 1913 Modena 1912 Montevarchi 1902 Monza1912 Napoli1926 Nocerina 1910 Novara 1908 Padova 1910 Parma1913 Perugia1905 Piacenza1919 Pisa 1909 Pontedera 1912 Prato 1908 Pro Patria 1909 Pro Sesto 1913 Ravenna1913 Reggiana 1919 Reggina1914 Rimini 1913 Salernitana1919 San Dona’ 1922 Sanremese 1904 Saronno 1910 Sassari Torres 1903 Sassuolo 1922 Savoia1908 Siena 1904 Sora 1907 Spal 1907 Spezia 1906 Teramo 1913 Ternana1925 Torino1906 Treviso 1909 Triestina 1918 Varese 1910 Venezia1907 Viareggio 1919 Vicenza 1902 Viterbese 1908 Can you see roma in there? Ok now I am serious. Not that what I’ve just said is bullshit… it’s all true. If you look at their websites on their history pages you actually realise how much the fact that Lazio has a great story and is the first football club in rome hurts them. It hurts a lot. They are just pathetic in their words that try to convince themselves that this is not true. Invidiosi e complessati, exactly as we reminded them in a derby a few years ago. Anyway, as a Laziale I am really happy about the existence of Roma. This shitty football team has already gifted Laziali many nice memories, and we thankfully acknowledge it here, in this topic. | Well, they exist for 81 years now, have 3 "scudetti", 9 Italian cups and 2 Supercups, though they don't have significant Euro trophy like Lazio does. I don't think their performance is so "pathetic". | |

You are right! I agree with you, their performances are consistently good! And very fast too! In fact, in the last seasons, every year they had already won the Scudetto and the Champions League already by October!!! They also keep a number of fantastic records! But of course there is no surprise! They have three (3) players who won (or are going to win) the golden ball, they play the best football in Italy and in Europe! They could have won more, but there was a "plot against them", and besides, they have been very unlucky.

The remaing scudetti were a fraud, needless to say... P.S. the three golden balls had to be awarded in the same year, but the plot still operates...

| Conn (or someone other who is ITK ), can you post some more interesting stuff considering the "history" of Riomma? Something like the situation with their first stadium, I found that pretty interesting. For instance - did the government "help" them sometimes, how did they gathered fan masses, etc. I think that putting facts will be quite better and useful than just spitting at their every move. | |

I think that putting facts will be quite better and useful than just spitting at their every move. Didn't you find that post interesting? I'll post more about you questions, but first you have to help me in solving this terrible riddle the gobbels' chronicles proudly present: when/where was this club founded?Every time I say, write or read “S.S. Lazio, 9 January 1900”, my minds goes to Piazza della Liberta’: there, I see the commemorative plate dedicated to the oldest polisportiva of the city. Very nice, indeed. What about asroma commemorative plate? We still didn’t talk about that, so today’s history bit is dedicated to it. Let’s get started, then. AsRoma foundation: the commemorative plateLet’s start immediately by saying that there is not any commemorative plate for asroma foundation. I’m sorry with our guests reading if I generated false hopes with my introduction, but that’s the truth: no commemorative plate (not yet, at least). There is not much we can do about it. What we can do, is try to understand why they still do not have a commemorative plate. Firstly, we have to say that not having any commemorative plate depends unfortunately on the fact that they don’t actually know almost anything about their foundation. As we will see below, not only they do not know the date, but they do not even know the place! And if you don’t know the place, where the f”ck are you going to put the plate? More about this later. Let me start by saying that we should give them some credit, because they did try to have a commemorative plate. Things are like that: at some point, a guy named Massimo Izzi comes up with an article claiming “with absolute certainty” that asroma was founded in Via Forlì, n16 the day 7 June 1927. You cannot imagine you relieved romanisti were after that article: they finally had the date!!! Filled with enthusiasm, they obtained from Roma City Council the permission to install a commemorative plate on the building at Via Forlì. Do you know what happened next? The co-owners of that building didn’t give them the permission to install that plate on their building! ahahah ahahahahahah I can’t stop laughing … sorry I know it doesn’t look very professional but I can’t help it ahahahah ahahahahah ahahahahah. Ok, stop laughing now please. Back to history. In the reminder of this post I just want to give you some proof about how confused they are about their origin (we already talked about it in general terms). Bear with me, it’s going to be interesting. Let’s start with asromaultras.it the most important non-official asroma website. They stick to the Izzi’s theory and write: “aroma was founded in Via Forlì n.16 on 7 June 1927. This is absolutely certain ” Absolutely certain? Ummmm…. Not really according to www.asroma-calcio.com. They do not even agree on the place, and write “the constitutional act was signed on 22 July 1927 at Via degli Uffici del Vicario n.35” Ok, I’m getting confused. Let’s have a look at what the official asroma website has to say. Well, they adopted a risk-adverse strategy and decided to be “vague about it”: “aroma was founded in July 1927 from the merge of Alba, Roman and Fortitudo”. Disappointing, you would expect more from the official website (even a fake date would do). So, which is the conclusion? Well, you know from elementary school that if you want to infer the value of an unknown parameter and you got a sample of values, the best way is to compute some kind of average. This seems indeed the solution adopted by dossier.net. They write: “the day 8 July 1927, Alba, Fortitudo and Roman originates asroma”. I am speechless... confused...
