Serie A: FIORENTINA - LAZIO, Sunday, 04-10-09

Lazio played a good game. The defence played well. When the ball came to Foggia in front of the goal I already started to celebrate then he shot it over the net. I can't believe he missed the easiest goal he will ever get. Still a draw on the road is ok against a good Fiorentia side.

draw is not a bad result,l fiorentina are a great team.

Draw is good. I like what I have seen the last 3 games.

I didn't see the game but in Svenskafans forum everybody are writing noon good stuff of the game.

I didn't like the match and I don't like la Lazio.....

Along all problems and lack of quality in defence and in mid section, now I am worried about our attack. Zarate is lost, I have the impression that everyone has revealed his game and he is doing always his ego dribbles without being able to give the opponents the deserved troubles…..Last season he has had a lot of luck and generally I don’t like the fact that we are very chaotic, always relying on luck to take something more…Yes sometimes he pass the ball very well, but he could do this more often until we score the damn goal…We have players like Rocchi and Cruz who are precise in front of the goal, but need good balls and he could give them , but he just doesn’t want to. Very disappointing about that, because so much time and he is not changing himself, he wants only glory for himself, I will not be surprised if this boy leave us even after this season with another ,,scandal’’.
I think as well, that he has not enough competition and that for sure is not in his favour.
Foggia today except his grand miss and one long shot did absolutely nothing, very quiet, I can understand why he is always substitute, but anyhow we don’t have better options…
Rocchi was so isolated once again…
Don’t want to discuss the rest, because the defence had tremendous luck today and our middle is a joke right now, only Muslera deserves something positive, because of his good and persistent performances. The last 10 minutes were awful, 11 man behind desperately trying to take 1 point….

Simple as this, it was a game for Gk. Defenders on both side run like chickens, the game was very opened. Think what ever you want but Viola only had 10min of the game, they probably played the worse game so far. BUT what is really important was that our attacking line can't finish, which by pure logic doesn't make it good attacking line. We got the best out there (Zarate, Foggia, Rocchi) and I must say that the old baldy was the best of them. Thats really disappointing knowing the fact that he missed 1-2 good chances.

To be honest, I wasn't too happy with Lazio's performance. I knew Fiorentina would be strong but I didn't expect them to dominate us in the way they did. If it wasn't for the fact that Radu and Cribari had pretty good games, we were lucky on Gilardino's goal and Muslera with his quick reflexes, we would have lost an embarrassing defeat.

I have been one of the quieter supporters of Baronio. But we have to face the facts. He is deputizing well but he is no more than a backup. We need someone who can deliver the ball, many times, it was his lack of accuracy in his long passes which breaks our every attack. I would rather he just focus on the defensive side of things and let Matuzalem playmake instead.

I didn't understand Ballardini's sub on Foggia. Fiorentina was attacking in waves, if there was anything to break them down, it would be on the counter with Foggia and Zarate. Meghni would have been a better replacement for Mauri. But Dabo's substitution was a good one.

It is pretty obvious that Fiorentina's defenders have studied Zarate well. He had no way against them, his dribbles are predictable and they always found a way to contain him. He needs to learn to pass more, change his style of play a little and play for the team instead of himself. Kaka' had a season where he was figured out by opponents, but he changed his style a little and look where that got him?

On the whole, I am very disappointed by how we played but I can't say I am disappointed by the result.

I'm a Baronio fans & i think he isn't deserve to be only a backup. He is really good but he need rest a bit.but i agree with you if baronio should focus on defensive role.

anywat Lazio's defence play really well last night.. i never seen a show like those performance in 3 years.. when Peruzzi & Oddo still in the club.

Let's say Lazio was very tired after the Sofia trip, in normal circumstances we lose such games.

So yesterday we didn't, even almost could have scored (see Foggia), so one point from Firenze is not bad at all, but these draws don't help us climb the Serie A.

Not a bad result, in fact its a pretty respectable one and considering Lazio were missing key players like Kolarov, Diakite and Brocchi. The match could have gone either way with both chances have several good chances to score so it was an even contest. I'll take it, but like you said Pazke, draws don't help us move up the table.

Also Cribari and Del Nero was under Honourable Mention...

It was very suprising to see that the Lazio defense with Radu and Del Nero managed to close down Viola so effective. But you could easily sea that both teams had been playing in Europe in the mid week. Not the highest intenseity. But anyways tha Lazio fans did a very good job from the ospite section!

I think with the games Radu plays he gets his confidence back and plays much better.. hope balla will not stick him back to the bench when Sivigla and Dia are recovered

I'll take Brocchi and perhaps even Kolarov for key players, but Diakite? I can't agree with that. Sure, he is important with his power and ability to win balls in the air, but his positioning has not been very good neither last or this season. I think he has been responsable/partly responsable for a little to many goals to be able to take a place in the starting lineup. Maybe and hopefully I've missed something, but to me he's third or even fourth choice right now.

If anyone is a key player in our defence I think it's Siviglia.

Diakita is our best defender in my opinion. We should use radu and diakite for our central defence.
