zarate is certainly not what is wrong with the team, but a tinkering with his game would be nice ofc that's what I meant - I'm not saying he must only pass the ball, but he is always raiding the defense and defenders know he is not passing so it's easy for them to close him down

| Zarate is the only shining light in our team atm. I dont care how selfish he is with the ball. Its not like he has another in form partner to knock the ball around with in the box.
Go solo Mauro! its the only thing thats giving me any joy in this woefull period.

| He really is the only shining star...i remember someone said even in the chat that zarate is a flop....idiots. If this guys wears the Lazios shirt next season and the president is still lotito then its a miracle. | |

| I said in the chat that he has yet to prove his 20million price tag and he hasn't. We blew our transfer budget on him, he is Lotito's man and we compromised ourselves by blowing that 20million on Maurito when we could have gave Pandev a bigger contract and kept alive that partnership with Rocchi and have Cruz as back up. We could then have invested that 20million in our defence and midfield.
So, it's not a matter of Maurito being a flop but rather that he was never going to live up to last seasons hype. In time, it should work for us but in the short-term, signing him has left us with a very unbalanced side.

| I disagree. It was never either-or with Mauro, it's not like we decided to go after Zarate instead of bolstering our defence. He was brought in July and we had ample time to find solutions for the midfield and defense but didn.t do either. Maybe we got screwed by last minute decisions by some players, maybe it was poorly prepared by Tare, maybe Lotito was a cheapskate and din't want to spash more money, whatever happened we got screwed.
I kind of agree with his brothers statement today, you can't see danger coming from any other player other than Zarate. His runs, dribbles and shots are almost the only threat we have to launch at the opposition.

| Zarate is worth all his 20 millions. One man cant win the game....cruz earns 1.6 millons for what?????for being a stick on the field...
Lotito:"When you built up the team you worked for one think, quality i mean" Tare:"Of course my master" (Ohhhhhh nooooooooooo quality was the word he told me....manfredini told me he heard quantity)

| he s worth more than 20 mil.,after long time we have the star in our team,he can dribls everyone, shot from every possition, about that he s selfish maybe one of the reason is that he know the potencial of our players(and he didnt give tham balls everytime),but do not forget that last year he was our best asist player,as for the example in the game against milan after he dribls 2-3 player he passed for lichty(he could shot himself),against viola he gives ball for mauri in 5 meter(mauri missed).last year have some great asists for pandev(example goran score het trick against chievo and every goal was mauro s asist),another reason of he s selfish is that he was ignorated from some our players and nobody ever talk about that.ask the fan of every other team(when they play against us)from who they are afraid-all of us now the question, its strange that other respect mauro more than us.he need to play for team(in my opinion he s doing that),but look the stars in they teams all of them are little selfish(ibra, messi, drogba, dinho etc)-and he is our only star,i hope that he will get the support from others(not complains) | |

| I very nice quite from Mauro Zarate from La Gazzetta dello Sport from today:
Zarate: "Totti parla tanto Ma è un giocatore finito"
"Lui parla molto ma si dimentica che è già finito. Sarà da dieci derby che non segna un gol."
Zarate: "Totti talks a lot But he is done as a player"
"He talks a lot but he forgets that he is already done as a player. He hasn't scored a goal in the last ten derbys."
Gotta love him, vai Maurito!

| Mauro Zarate Will Quit Lazio Unless Davide Ballardini Apologises - Agent Big brother Zarate is dancing around with outrage...
Lazio's in-house squabbles have gone from bad to worse as Mauro Zarate has been told to quit the club unless coach David Ballardini offers an apology for his outburst against the player on Wednesday.
Sergio Zarate, the striker's brother and agent, has reacted furiously after Ballardini openly criticised the No. 10 following the 4-1 win over Livorno.
He has now declared war against the club's coach unless he offers a truce. If Ballardini fails to offer Zarate the olive branch, then the chances are he will leave the club.
"Ballardini doesn't understand the football code inside the dressing room. His words are incredible and I still cannot understand his reasons for them," the agent told Il Corriere Dello Sport.
"He has made a big mistake. Mauro is upset, but he wants to respond on the pitch. However, the coach has shown a lack of respect. I have been in football for 30 years and you speak about players inside the dressing room, not outside.
"How can he speak about Mauro like this with the press? I saw the game and Mauro did not play badly."
Solutions to clear the air are limited for club, coach and player. Sergio believes it's either Ballardini or Zarate as he issues Claudio Lotito with an ultimatum to instill discipline in his coach.
Non compliance will see Zarate quit as the threat continued.
"I hope this situation is resolved and I think that Ballardini has only one way to get out of it; apologise to Zarate because he made a mistake," he added.
"If the situation carries on like this then at the end of the season one or the other will leave Lazio. Either Ballardini goes, or it will be Zarate. Lotito decides."

| I can't believe the stupidity of Mauro's brother. Who is he to say something like that?!?!?! It's not that like Balla that much to care for his job, but no player, and even more, no agent can ask any club's president to sack the coach if he does not give an a apology for his words, that btw. were not even that harsh toward Mauro. If this kind of thing happened in some other, more serious club, i'm sure that both the player and his agent would be in trouble. No player is bigger than the club and no agent can state such a ultimatum to the president. Even if we talk about Zarate's agent. Sometimes, when the coaches words doesn't have an effect on some player in the dressing room, the coach is forced to use them in front of the press. I think that is the case with this situation with Balla and Mauro. I would love everything to have a positive effect on Lazio, but in this situation the player's agent is the one who should be disciplined, not the coach. FORZA LAZIO, NOW 110 YEARS STRONG! | |
