because he is cheap, has a 5 year contract and all good sides need depth for a backup player he is fine.

| Del Nero was one of our best players at the beginning of last season, but was a regular bench man once he lost his form. More than good enough to be back up though. Would like to see him at the club for many years. | |

| yes, he would have really helped, he definitely gives us something extra in depth. I think it's fair to say he is a good signing, who has so far, in what we have seen of him, surpassed most expectations. | |

He's like the forgotten man of Lazio. Feel sorry for the guy cause for the 10 or so games he played, he wasn't too bad.

I still think he could be very useful
as long as he stays out of the medical rooms and on the pitch.

| He really wasn't shabby at all, he had quite a few decent runs on the left and good link up play with Kolarov and Rocchi, he made santon and cordoba very very nervous so I wouldn't mind seeing him in future games as well.
Shame about the yellow card though. And in all honesty to all his critics I must say that Del Nero did much more in the 1st half than Foggia did in the 2nd.

| Agreed Sile, I wasn't surprised by his performance, I've always liked the guy from what I've seen and his days at Brescia. If he can play like that, after a whole out, he can be very useful once he gets more playing time. | |

| Did you hear the latest news? Man United are reportedly tracking Del Nero, but Lotito has refused the offer. And although Ferguson has announced that if Del Nero doesn't become a Man U player, he will kill himself, I still don't believe him. I know he is good, but not THAT good, for Christ's sake! | |

| Who are you fighting with?
I said he wasn't too shabby, Gio said he could be useful, and all of a sudden you come out with this failed attempt at sarcasm, suggesting we consider him to be the new incarnation of Ryan Giggs or whoever.
Your point of view is perfectly clear to all of us, these kind of messages are spam, you bring absolutely nothing to the discussion.

| I'm with Gio and Sile on this one (as per usual). He is an olympic bronze medallist, talented but injury plagued. IF he can keep fit and IF he is called upon he WILL deliver. That simple really. He is versatile too so potentially a great back up to have. | |

You never stop making a fool of yourself. There are a few of you in this forum that seem to have the only goal of opposing what other people say... As for Del Nero; for me he is a good squad player, someone that I think could be even more useful if he stayed fit and actually got some more time as a sub. He has got some skills, unfortunately he has no consistency and he needs to become little bit smarter as a player. To make a challenge with the ball when that is the best option, to pass the ball when that is better. Also, he needs to improve his defensive game, the yellow card yesterday was a joke...the slowest playe around (Figo) managed to totally out-dribble him...

| A useful and versatile player. If he stays fit and healthy he is a definite asset for Lazio. Probably not a first team regular be can be a very good back up option. Looked good against Inter yesterday. Well done Simone. Keep it up! | |

| Come ooooooon, guys, stop being economists (i.e.people with a lack of humour)! I was just trying to cheer everyone up in these dark days of financial crises worsened by the Lazio crises. Have fun until 13th May, before it gets too dark or it gets very sunny in front of your houses (you know what I mean)! | |

| He was really good against Inter, he was active, fighting for every ball. He made some mistakes, but he also made Santon look nervous all of the time. Very well done, when healthy he's a reliable and useful sub who will give you quality minutes. Not like Menghi. | |

| I like this guy and hope he keeps fit and able for a while.
Could have a pivotal role to play tomorrow night because if this game is pacy or goes into extra time, I expect him to step on for Foggia.
Deserves his chance. | |

| I also think that he is a good player. But not a first team player. On the ball he´s very strong, but against Udinese I saw that he is very slow. His runs are not fast enough. | |
