| What? No if his ban was reduced from three to two games it should mean that he is suspended also against Atalanta (Genoa game already been played).
Genoa, 1 game Atalanta, 2 games

| The ban does not apply on serie a, however, I think he got a yellow in the game against juve and will miss the coppa game due to that...right or wrong? | |

He is suspended against Atalanta, but will be back for Inter, and is suspended for Coppa final. They were 2 separate suspensions.

- Real Zaragoza Ordered To Pay €12 Million For Matuzalem
Matuzalem may not be able to join Lazio permanently now that Real Zaragoza have be forced to stump up a huge transfer fee... Real Zaragoza have been ordered to pay around €12 million to Shakhtar Donetsk after a court ruled that Matuzalem unilaterally broke his contract to join the Spanish club.
The Brazilian star left the Ukrainian outfit claiming that under FIFA rules he could leave after playing for them for three years, but the club were not happy.
A case was filed by Shakhtar to FIFA and their panel told Zaragoza that they must stump up €6.25m, but that was not considered to be enough so they appealed again to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
In a bid to settle the dispute, Zaragoza offered €2.4m, but that was dismissed as his buy-out clause in his contract was €25m and Shakhtar wanted a realistic sum.
Despite Zaragoza's relegation, CAS have now stated that they must find €11,858,934 if they want to keep Matuzalem as their own player, a ruling that Los Manos are set to appeal.
The 28-year-old midfielder is currently on season long loan to Lazio that cost the Serie A club €800,000 and includes an option to buy.
f*ck, f*ck and again f*ck! What a bad luck for Francelino. First he´s injured the first half of the season. Then he got better ande better. He became one of the best players in our squad, especially because our midfield is not very strong without him. And now this bad news. When I see him playing for Lazio, I feel that he´s very happy at Lazio. He wanted to stay with us, but with this news there is no chance to keep him. Lotito won´t pay that money - and that´s right because it´s to much. But before this news we could have get him very cheap. I hope that Francelino can solve these problems - maybe there are better news in some weeks. If he can´t solve this problem, then we will loose a real warrior.

| It doesnt mean that Lazio need to pay that sum. That is what Zaragoza has to pay to Sjaktar, or I guess he again becomes a Sjaktar player. In any case, this could mean that Zaragoza/Sjaktar are ready to let him go only to make sure they get a bit of cash for him - in Zaragoza's case being some consolidation for the large fee they have to pay, if he becomes a player of Sjaktar I guess they will want to get rid of his as soon as possible...
In any case, I think we should think carefully if we want to sign him. He holds quality, and has been good the games he was in form, but do we need more players in the squad at the moment, that are not obvious reinforcements? We have a smelling as load of players we need to get out of the squad before we fill it up with better squad players. To me, Matuzalem cannot become the starter in the midfield that we need. Either he is injured, or he is suspended. That's just not good enough...

| Genoa appartenley ready to take some action in a bid to take Matuzalem to them.
There president belive's he is an ideal replacement for Tiago Motta.
Its gonna be very hard to keep him here.
But equally its gonna hurt so much if he does go, because we never did see the best from him, tthrough no real fault of his own.
Just hopeing we can secure some sort of arrangement on him, if Lotito could maybe somehow get another year on his loan deal.

| Its official: Matuzalem is ours! The loan impressed Lotito and he signed Matu for 6 mil.
A warm welcome Matu! I am no bigger fan. but if you manage to stay fit and avoid spending too much time recovering, I am sure you can be a great addition to the team and that you can become an influential player - we saw bits and parts of your skills when you actually played. Last season we saw a few glimpse of the talent you have, all you need to do is to become more consistent and, once again, stay fit!
More than anything, I will support you because of the kind words you have had for Lazio. You are happy to be with us, you have stated that you feel that Lazio is like a family, and you have understood that la Lazio is more than only footbal. For this, you will be loved. Dont let us down though!

| I think this is a good move for us. He has good quality, and fits in well with our more promising players like Foggia, Kolarov, Zarate, Radu etc. He is in that vein, opposed to the potential bench dwellers like Manfredini, Baronio, Makinwa etc. Signing players like this is sign for me at least that as a club we are developing in quality. We did not see the best of him last year due to injury, but he can score goals and I hope he scores many in the Lazio shirt, especially against Roma. | |

| I'm undecided as to whether this was a good move or not.
I saw Matuzalem in Italy but more frequently at Shakhtar and he was their star player; everything went through him, he could create, score, protect the defence...he was a great all-round midfielder.
At 29 years of age, he should be in his prime but unfortunately injuries have decimated him over the past few seasons. For 6mil we are getting a player who is potentially worth double that, maybe even more but is probably worth half that on his current form. When he and Ledesma where in our midfield, our performances improved dramatically; one concentrated on protecting our disorganised and fragile backline while the other tried to create. It was a good partnership given the circumstances.
Now that Cristian will probably leave, it remains to be seen how Ballardini deploys him. Will he protect the backline while we focus our play through the wings or will he push forward and instigate our attacks? Perhaps we will bring in another new face and have Matu in a Ledesma style role (a role he can adequately fill in my opinion, if not to Cristian's level)?
I think it's key we don't leave ourselves in a position where we need to rely on him. We could rely on Ledesma because he was ever-fit. Matu is a completely different scenario but as many have noted, if he stays fit and is utilised properly, he will become a key player and a welcome addition.

| very well done by lottito, solid price, very good midlle player, when he was fit our game was much seriosly with him,but he didnt play he s real possition,he could be a great creating player(and that part was exclusive right of ledesma in the past, and in my opinion he s better than ledesma(i can not agree with whose who thinks that he s not in ledesma level),ledesma have a freedom in the game(he was rossi s key player)and all balls most goes throught him,but except in defence i dont see in wich part was ledesma better than him,he give s the ball faster than ledesma, better in offence, stronger and lets see what can he do in he s possition(like a player who will have ball in he s foot more than until now),personaly i think it s much better to play with brochi or dabo in destructive middle player position and matu as playmaker(than ledesma playmaker matu-covering position),also now we have some good players which one can keeps the ball and create chance(foggia-matu,this new one ellisue(i dont now-but if he s also good technik player),than is much better playing with matu in ledesma position(not as a cllasical play),we can give freedom everyone and everytime we have one who can make fouls,run...like every normal team | |
