he was unlucky with that long term injury once he broke his leg when he came in contact with Muta during the Torino game!

From the few games I watched him (LG tournament and some games in 06-07 season) this man can turn to a great defender, he is physically strong, good in the air, good in sliding tackles, but I think he needs alot in positioning and 1 to 1 marking.

Diakite with fine tunning from Rossi, he will be a rock in the heart of our defense and I can gamble on that.

However, the damage last season ruined quite a bit since he had the chance to shine a bit during the disaster that Siviglia and Cribari created last season. Considering our defense of last term, I'd say just about everyone deserves a chance on our backline. I'm not sure he's ready to be a regular in the first eleven, but I would like to see him maybe in Coppa Italia so we can get a better idea of his potential.

I would say Rossi prefers Rozehnal, Cribari and Radu over him, but I do think he's next in line now, even ahead of Siviglia. I don't think he's ready for the first team, but if Rossi doesn't bring in another defender, I think we could and should see a lot more of him.

I believe he is now after having an advantage over Tuia is on a level playing field, in terms of progress through the side, for me it doesnt look rosy for Mobido

if I am not wrong, this is the 3rd time he called for the preseason training camp and that defenitly but him a head of Tuia. He and De Silvestri played togather with the primevara and their Serie A debut was against Fiorentina 2 years ago in the olimpico.

yes, he's definitely ahead of Tuia.

Siviglia is only in there because of his experience...looking at the CBs now, I think Rozehnal, Cribari and Radu are the first choices, then Modibo and then Tuia...we cant expect Tuia to be considered a serious option for the backline yet. On the other side, as you guys have already stated, Diakite has been called up for pre-season training for three years now, giving him a hint that Rossi actuallyu does believe in him. He was very unlucky last year as he could have taken a very big step when our defence was performing so badly...

This guys is a future of our team.

He is truly gifted to play as a central defender and should be Rossi`s first choice off the bench.

I hope Rossi can try him in midfield, he will be a rock as a defensive midfield

It's not too late for him to learn how to be a defensive midfield... just learn from Mr. Dabo

Diakite has signed until 2013 and earn an average of 150 thousand euros per season.

The question is, are we stuck with or is he stuck with for 5 years. I havnt ssen him play since our friendly against liverpool

Ha ha, judging by last night's game he's stuck. Think he should get a start in Serie A, maybe not against Inter but very soon.

He was outstanding against Milan, but he's still got to learn a lot to be more consistent

well, he need play a lot to learn to be more consistent.. however, how do you know that he is inconsistent?

He could have done without that handball close to the box, but a great game from the youngster.
And he's really strong physically, we are starting to look like a wrestling team with him and Lorenzo...

Indeed, great showing by the youngster. Considering the current state of our defense, I wouldn't mind seeing him in some Serie A matches.

Keep your head high, a great game never minding the bad luck. A real prospect for the future.

i hope rossi will play him, in every next match for replacing the old siviglia

He will make errors in the future , that is inevitable , but he showed that deserves his chance.
