Last night I got to Zone 75 - Zone Supersonic in Wipeout HD!!!

Even got a gold trophy for my troubles and to top it off im ranked 310 in the world!!!Proud of that sh*t.

Determined to get to Zone 100,thats gonna be some tough sh*t.

You are all wrong!Back in the day,1995 to be exact,playstation was released along with its first game Wipeout!

In the present day,PS3 was released and you can get Wipeout HD on your PSN(playstation network)account.

Were none of you people around back in the day,Playstation was the sh*t and still is the sh*t.

And as for Wipeout,it was the best game for PS1 and now its all in HIGH DEFINITION for the PS3.Its a futuristic racing game.

This is exclusive to PS3,not available for the xbox 360 which is inferior.

Zone mode is a challenge were your ship just gets faster and faster until you crash too much and die.

You get trophies for doing certain things in games for the PS3.

I would highly recommend it to anyone.PS3 is the sh*t!!!

I'm confused. How is it HD when PS3 uses Blu-Ray technology? I know it's still HD but it's not HD (if you understand me...)

Yeah its a good tv but it cost me 300 knicker and the PS3 cost me another £300,but it is all worth it.

Games are brilliant on BLU-RAY,films are even better,its like your looking through a window and its all happening right there!!!

I highly recommend all this to everyone.Forget about the xbox its a load of old tripe!!!

Couldn't agree more! Btw Sile, you should get one only for Call of Duty 4 and 6 (Modern Warfares) which will be in Autumn. Only game I really play, unreal online.

Yeah gladly, but there are a couple things:

1. Playstation network is in these parts either unavailable or terribly expensive

2. A quality 42" LCD with full HD (I'm not settling for any less) will set me back some 800-1000€

So before I kick your ass in COD I must work to save enough money while finishing up college and maintaining a social life so time is short and good night now

All shooters are the same. I switched allegiance to Xbox shortly after the PS2 came out...found the games were drying up.

I was a serial purchaser of games. PS1 had the consoles locked out for long enough, but now it's all switched to Xbox as far as I can see.

I haven't really played the PS3 so this is something I cannot judge properly. Only thing is, nothing lures me into playing the PS3.

Ok, I'm a bit of a gaming expert (nerd is perhaps more apt). Let me explain.

The battle between HD and Blu-Ray technology equated to who would sell more between Xbox and the PS3. Xbox chose HD, not because Blu-Ray was beyond them but because they thought Blu-Ray was beyond the target audience. And it was. Sony went with it and messed up. I could grasp Blu-Ray technology but I don't really want to because that phase has still to take off. Until then, I am going to enjoy my 360 experience. I will get the best of both worlds where I fear you Sony buffs may not

The reason why Wii did so well was nothing to do with the fact that you can move around and it influences the game (that's a novelty). It took off because it was simply something different. It will wear off incredibly quickly and they will run out of ideas.

Two of the best games I have played recently are Crackdown and Mass Effect. The developers took popular genres but didn't follow the formula. I actually got some proper fun out of gaming for the first time in years.

Having a nicer TV picture does not appeal to me. I am a pure gamer. Mad about graphics, mad about gameplay, mad about longevity.

Blu-ray will outdo HD (and by parallel PS will outdo Xbox) because the fight was about which medium will be used to store data in the future. So Sony and a bunch of others went with Blu-ray, and some with HD, but as you can see the video industry (and the real straw that broke the camels back was the fact that the porn industry chose to go with blu-ray) decided that the future standard (once VHS, now DVD) will be blu-ray.

Sooner rather than later PS3 will claim the throne as most game developers will make games for this platform and with all the other capabilities of the console it becomes an universal home entertainment center.

Blu-ray will usurp HD, it is inevitable, but I won't buy the PS3 (or the next Blu-Ray console) until that changeover is gathering momentum.

However, i think the fact that the industry failed to actuallly agree on one, or that there are different formats, is a sign that there will soon (maybe not so soon) appear another format that is even better. I think the bloody industry should listen to the consumers for once and actually go for ONE development that all agree to use.

Maybe my post doesnt make that much sense as I dont really understand the techniques (I only use them) and I am not an economist so I rather think about the economy of the laity than the bloody company owners...

Caxi you nut-job! HD is already obsolete. All the shelves are pulling HD Dvd's it's all about the Blue-ray baby!

Plus you can't beat a playstation controller....xbox has a shitty brick!

Well when you consider all the efforts and money that was spent on developing sth as complex as a HD DVD or Blu-ray discs it's no wonder both wanted to be the standard format to cash in on the patent. It may be a long time before they chose to go on a different format, as right now I can't imagine what has to be done to fill up a 50 GB disc when producing a video-game or a movie, but I sure as hell want to know, it will blow my mind probably.

Plasma TV's are coming back in style, the newest model have a flicker rate of 600Hz Good luck noticing a glitch there

I'm in the market for a 42" LCD, preferably Full HD, suggestions are welcome
