I think Brazil and Italy will progress with ease, I tip the Ivory Coast to beat Nigeria too. Argentina - Holland I can't predict, mainly because I fancy Holland to cause a surprise. Will be good games whatever the outcome.

Anyone knowing when the games will be played?

I think Cam could surprise Bra, the Africans have very good physique and can actually give Bra a tough match. Probably Ronaldinho & co will go through though..

Ivory vs Nig will be the most entertaining game. Both play very fast football and the teams have plenty of talent. However, Ivo are a bit more organised and I think this will mean Gervinho and Kalou will have a good chance going through ti the semi finals.

Ita vs Bel will be a slow game since the Belgians play very very tight and avoid giving space to their opponents. I I like defensive football a lot and really enjoyed watching them when playing against Bra (a game the latter won because of the ref being lousy more than anything else) and we all know Ita knows how to lower the tempo and wait for the perfect oppurtunity to score. This one will be a tight one, but Ita will go through.

Arg - Hol ? impossible to say. Argentina thanks to Messi, Aguero and Lavezzi? Maybe. But Holland has got a new "favourite" player in my eyes: De Guzman! Will be very entertaining to watch...


If both Bra and Arg go through they will face each other in the semis, right? Thats what I heard but can anyone confirm this?

I have terrible nightmares when I remember Sydney 2000, quarter-finals... Cameroon 2-1 Brazil by a golden goal in the extra time... They were with 9 men... Horrible game for us...

I did not get to see any games but Belgium got a very impressive win over Italy from what I read. Argentina, Brazil and Nigeria all progressed to the semifinals too! Well done to all the teams!

Extremely impressive Argentina. They have outplayed Brazil in the 2nd half, and there is a huge gap in players as Argentina have players that are way above Brazil´s. Ronaldinho is nothing, apart from his freekicks...And now they are freakin out the Brazilians, must be so hard to lose so badly against your arch-rivals...

Also an impresive Nigeria earlier today I understand (did not watch that game though...). Will be another Argentina - Nigeria final...hmm...

Nigeria´s defence sucks, but on the other hand their offence is strong; stronger than I ever thought it would be. If Argentina manage to score the first goal I think Nigeria will open up and attack and then Argentina can trash them badly. Even if it would be a tight game with no goals and maybe even Nigeria would be one goal up I am having a hard time understanding how any team in the world possibly can stand against the crazy fast and tecnical players that occupy the midfield and attack of the Argentinian team.
