Players called up for National Team

Subject: Players called up for National Team Mon Sep 01, 2008 6:56 pm

I think it is interesting, but also very important when we discuss coming games, to know how many of our players are called up for international duty. This round, at least in Europe and Asia, there are two games within 4-5 days, and then getting back for a game against Sampdoria just a few games later in the start of the season is pretty tough to handle.

Then after the games have been played it would be nice to get some feedback on how much a specific player played, if he played and how well he did...

For now I am sure that Pandev and Carrizo are both called up for their NTs. Who else?

I was going to suggest opening a topic for this because it is a recurring situation.

Let's post the players as of when they get their call ups and then we can follow their progress.

Juan Pablo Carrizo came on for Roberto Abbondanzieri on 14 minutes for Argentina, don't know why, just looking at some stats. The OG by Heinze was before JP came on. In the little bit of the match I saw, JP did a bit of skill to drag the ball past an attacker like I remember he did in a video posted on here before he signed. Classy!

Looks like Stefan Radu was subbed at half-timefor a striker when Romania were losing 1-0 and the match ended 3-0 to Lithuania.

Stephan Lichsteiner played and Switzerland let a 2 goal lead slip to draw 2-2 against Israel.

Goal.com gave Rozehnal a 7 out of 10 rating for his performance against Northern Ireland saying he was competent without making much of an impression Very Happy

good that he had a good game.

Pandev got a 7.5 from goal.com and they also say he scored 3 times but 2 of them were offside!?

Kolarov was not even used as a sub for the Serbian team.

Did Lichtsteiner play for the Swiss today?
