I know that this news about geox owner buying Lazio are before 2 or 3 months, but I tought that there is something new about this issue. Having in mind that nobody replied with something more specific, I will accept that this is only speculation.

What does it say? Is it that Lotito can take the last pictures with his car collection before the bank takes them from him?

Lazio: Are Lazio In Limbo Under Claudio Lotito?

With endless reports circulating Formello on potential summer signings, Goal.com’s Lazio expert analyses an all too familiar story for the Biancocelesti...
By Stefano Federici
Jun 4, 2010 10:22:00 AM

The 2009-10 season certainly won’t be forgotten lightly by the Lazio faithful, namely because of the spectacular shortcomings from a side who started the campaign by lifting the Supercoppa Italiana. After enjoying a brief flirt with Europe up until late autumn, the wheels started to come off by November as the Aquile’s under-equipped squad failed to cope with the strains of three competitions.

Numerous local media sources and Biancocelesti fan groups protested throughout the season by voicing their opposition towards president Claudio Lotito. Labelled as the main culprit behind the side’s inadequacies it seemed the patron would be forced into action once the turbulence of a testing season had been put to rest.

It has been an all too similar story during the last six years of the Lotito reign. During the early summer months Lazio are punctually linked with a whole host of potential arrivals as a crop of current players sit anxiously by the phone waiting for news regarding contractual negotiations.

The same Roman media sources who blasted Lotito as the club dwindled close to the relegation zone during the spring, have now chosen to forgotten the deep lying problems as they opt to fill their pages with endless transfer news surrounding Rome’s oldest club.

Unfortunately for the Aquile faithful, where their club was once a major powerhouse on the transfer markets, Lazio have now become a club without any real project often undergoing transfers without any underlying scope or logic.

Testament to this has been the large number of players who have come and gone through the gates at Formello without having made any lasting impact during their time with the Biancocelesti. Juan Pablo Carrizo, Lionel Scaloni, Emilson Cribari, Massimo Mutarelli, Riccardo Bonetto, Stephen Makinwa and Julio Cruz are some of the recent examples. More worrying is that a small contingent of the aforementioned list still form a part of the Aquile squad thus rendering the job of the coach even more difficult to manage.

Lotito declared he had “taken a side from its funeral and brought it into a condition of coma” shortly after taking over the Biancocelesti back in 2004. The chief has been quick to remind his critics in recent years that without his action Lazio would have inevitably faced extinction. Nonetheless, the patron conveniently chooses to avoid the examples of clubs such as Napoli and Fiorentina who faced the consequences of financial administration only to come back stronger some years later.

In terms of economic power both the Partenopei and the Viola are in far stronger positions to the Aquile and this is despite having journeyed as low as Serie C2 in recent seasons. Lazio have remained in the top flight during the reign of Lotito, but with the same problems rearing their ugly heads year on year, there is still no clear indication as to when the Aquile will awake from their ‘coma’.

It seems certain that the Biancocelesti faithful will be treated to another summer of false promises as things stand following the closure of their worst campaign for over a decade. Despite talks of restructuring the club, bringing in the likes of Angelo Peruzzi, little has yet to materialise at Formello other than another long list of potential signings.

Newell’s Old Boys Joaquin Boghossian, San Lorenzo’s Pablo Pintos, Olimpique Lyonnais’ Ederson, Rennes’ Hakim Khadrejnane, Nacional’s Alvaro Gonzalez, Goais’ Rafael Toloi and Gremio’s Fabio Santos have all been tipped to move to the Italian capital but as the weeks pass the list will inevitably escalate as the current Lazio hierarchy fail to get their priorities in order.

With the likes of Aleksandar Kolarov and Stephen Lichtsteiner set to leave the capital upon return from international duties in South Africa, it seems Edy Reja’s starting line-up will lose some of its key personnel in spite of the club's lacklustre finish last term.

The critics have taken leave as they opt to bury their heads in the sands of the region's beaches during the warm summer months that occupy us during the close season. In view of this approach few can complain come late August when they realise their club has once again been weakened following another unsatisfactory transfer campaign.

--------------------------------------

Lotito sell the club if you cannot manage. You have no structure. It is just Tare, YOU, and manager. Where is the marketing strategist? We need to grow and bring in lots of money.

You are holding us back. Go away please.

Hehe, Manfre doesn't need to buy the club, he is first in line to inherit it when his "father figure" becomes too senile to run it
(I'll leave that one for each to make his own judgement on Wink )...

All hail President Manfreass cheers

Lazio President Claudio Lotito Receives Two-Month Suspended Jail Sentence, Later Cancelled, For Road Rage Fight -

Report
Lotito avoids jail term, but ordered to pay compensation to victim...
By Salvatore Landolina
Jun 4, 2010 12:44:00 PM

Lazio president Claudio Lotito has been handed a two-month suspended jail sentence, but had it subsequently cancelled, after a road rage fight dating back to 2005, a court in Rome was told today, reports tgcom.it.

The court heard how Lotito reacted violently during a road rage incident in Rome five years ago in which he was accused of private violence towards another motorist who filed a complaint to police.

The court was told how Lotito used violence towards the motorist after she had collided with his car, knocking off a side mirror. Once on the road, Lotito was alleged to have smashed the victim's phone on the ground.

During the hearing prosecutors asked magistrates to impose a four-month jail term, believing a custodial sentence would have been appropiate for the Lazio chief.

But a judge in the court of Rome decided on a two-month suspended sentence after Lotito asked for a pardon.

However, the suspended sentence was cancelled by the court, who used a new law that waivers jail terms for minor offences.

But Lotito was ordered to pay the motorist €1,000 in compensation as well as €1,800 in legal costs.

I'm pretty sure the other motorist there was actually a woman.

What's the bet that compensation and legal costs actually comes out of Lazio's coffers?

I dont think lotito has still learned from past lessons. We need to buy players and get rid of old dead wood.

From the sale of Kolarov, we done well but should be able to buy more quality.

We had a good run near the end with our Reja. Lets hope we continue our good run.

Lotito, try to sell the club to someone that wishes to invest.
