| Big G has said he is still proud to be laziale and wants to return. We all know the reason he left and that reason (Delio Rossi) will hopefully be gone in June. Now I think that Stendardo could be a big boost to the side in terms of central defence.
Only Siviglia and Diakite' have really shown any ability to attack on set pieces and they aren't as good as Big G is. Anyone remmber that special diving header vs Ascoli a couple of seasons ago??
Do others agree with me that he should be brought back after Rossi is gone??

| I do.
He was on the verge of making the National team and is as good, if not better than anyone we currently have.
Be it Cribs or Roz, this guy can slot alongside them. As long as this isn't him realising that he wasn't bigger than Lazio after all but that he simply loves our colours, I'd take him back.

| Stendqrdo? no thanks... we need a real center back not another average joe at the back. Ill welcome him back only if we sell siviglia or something, so maybe we can use stendardo as cover for our starting cb's cribari and someone new im hoping.
We have enough mediocre center backs as it is.

We have enough mediocre center backs as it is. Come on be realistic. Lotito doesn't seem to buy "good" defender or something, I guess the "best" solution for us is bringing Stendardo back. Siviglia is getting old and at least he could be his replacement. We're talking about money here.

| I am with Weninho and Valdanito about this one. I wouldn't mind having him back for next season, but not as a starter or 1st eleven, I also wouldn't mind trading him for someone like Felipe (As far as I know we were interested in him since beginning of this season) or Zapata. | |

| He is decent, not a leader and not the future leader of our defensive line. He has passion yes, but we need a leader in CB position...not another ordinary defender... | |

| With Rossi leaving at the end of the season I guess everyone including Stendardo himself expect him to return to Lazio at the end of this season.
At the moment Cribari's doing an excellent job and he's pushed Rozehnal out of the team. I would prefer to see Radu deputizing next season as the left center back and with Diakite getting better each game it's going to get a bit crowded at the back. Don't forget Tuia.
I expect Rozehnal to be the one to leave come summer.

He was on the verge of making the National team Huh? Maybe in his imagination but I doubt even Stendardo's imagination is so bold. He probably wouldn't make the NT of Bulgaria (and believe me, we suck at the back), let alone the Azzurri. Rozenhal is way better than Stendardo, Diakite has potential to improve in the future, Radu the benchboy has done better than Stendardo practically every time he has played as CB. It always crack me up how players we get rid of suddenly become overhyped. I bet that if Ledesma leaves in the summer the very people who are critisicing him contantly on this forum will start bitching that they miss him and we never should have sold him.

| Stendardo is a terrible defender and has made unbelievably stupid mistakes continuously in the past. No thanks.
I don't even remember for how many transfer markets we've been waiting Lotito to sign a decent centre back, a solid leader for our defence. What we need is an experienced proven player who immediately has what it takes and Stendardo is not that player. (and never will be.)

| Stendardo is decent defender, particulargy good in hight balls.
However, if Delio Rossi stays with us, which is imminent I think, he will be sold to another club in the summer.

| I like the guy. I was disappointed when he was sent out on loan to Juventus and then returned but only to be loaned out again to Lecce. I agree he is not a fantastic central defender but he is more than decent in my opinion. He is still young, has gained some good experience, good in corners (defensive or attacking) and is pretty solid and reliable. His determination, passion and love for the Lazio jersey also helps and I hope he returns in the summer to stay - especially if Lotito sells off one of our current defenders.
However if Rossi is still Lazio coach then I don't know how things will shape up for Guglielmo. He was apparently sent out to Juve last season because of a despute with Rossi. That's not good and I don't like it at all when something like that happens.
If a good offer comes in then it should be evaluated. For now its too early. I think best option is to wait till the end of the season when his loan ends and he returns and then decide on his future.
How has he been doing this season? From time to time I have a look at the player ratings given by goal.com and he has generally been one of the better Lecce players during their matches.
Whether he is a Lazio player next season or not, I still like the guy and have a lot of respect for him.
