Looking forward to this one. I have a little soft spot for Bari and the way they have onducted themselves in recent years. I don't see them as relegation fodder so travelling to that stadium and getting a point would be no bad thing.

Of course, I want and expect more, especially since we are on a high and have been drawing a lot lately.

Two draw speacilists meeting at the San Nicola.

1-1 would be a great bet for anybody.

But hopefully we can use the confidence gained in the win of Villareal to guide us to an important away win and 3 points.

I would like to see Radu play at CB again, but very unlikley unfortunitley.

Ive seen Bari on a few occassions and they have good quality. Frankly, against both the Milan sides away from home a point was the least they deserved. However, demolition of Atalanta aside, they do seem to struggle for goals despite the presence of Rivas, who I believe is absent for the game against us, Barretto, Kutuzov who play the ball around nicely. Still, we have momentum from the Villareal win and confidence must be high for us, time to strike while the iron is hot.

http://www.goal.com/en/news/10/italy/2009/10/24/1581605/lazio-coach-davide-ballardini-ponders-3-4-3-formation-ahead

So Ballardini is pondering a 3-4-3? Intriguing...but this has nothing to do with Foggia.

I believe there are a few reasons behind this. In a strange sense, it stabilises us at the back. It allows Cribari to play on that much preferred left side with Siviglia making his experience useful dead centre while Diakite' uses all his muscle to help out a rahter fatigued Lichti. Lichti and Kolarov can then bomb forward, Brocchi can become a brilliant back-up for Brocchi and then we have Radu in reserve and a choice of Mauri, Matuzalem, Baronio, Dabo, Brocchi and Meghni for the centre.

In an attacking sense, I think the thought behind it is utilising Zarate. Despite the recent criticism, Cruz makes Maurito a much greater threat; he has the holding skills and the creativity to bring Zarate into the game and he works better with Mauro than Rocchi. However, it also works for Tommaso as it means he can work more closely with Julio. That would then make Foggia our wildcard coming off the bench as the game gets stretched.

In the end, you have a team that looks something like this:

--------------------Muslera---------------------

-----Diakite'-------Siviglia-------Cribari------

--Lichtsteiner------------------------Kolarov--

-------------Matuzalem----Mauri---------------

---------Rocchi---------------------Zarate-----

-----------------------Cruz----------------------

Bench: Bizzarri, Radu, Dabo, Brocchi, Baronio, Del Nero/Meghni, Foggia.

The creativity and goal threat of that side is mouthwatering and potentially amazing...

Interesting experiment. I saw something similar to laziosiamonoi, except Foggia for Rocchi and Brocchi for Mauri.
The formation is the same though.

a good one but I'd rather see Baronius instead of Mauri cause when Matu is not playing right the center folds if he doesn't have back up I mean in a defensive manner

I said that i wish Lazio to play 3-4-3 long ago. But to that team..i`d rather put Radu insted of Cribari and Brocchi insted of Mauri. Also..wouldnt been bad if Cruz or Rocchi were on the bench and as a 2nd striker support to be Mauri or Foggia. Also..i believe that SIviglia would be better to play on the right side and Diakite in center.

So.. Muslera - Siviglia, Diakite, Radu - Lich, Matu, Brocchi, Kolarov - Foggia, Zarate - Rocchi

in the reality this is 5-3-2,we can call whatever we want but lichty and kolarov are defencive wings,i will understand if we will have brocchi-matu-mauri-meghni-foggia in the middle, but lichty and kolarov...lets be realisyc-we can call this 3-3-4 but?

Just an example of what I think Ballardini could look to deploy. I'd maybe make a few changes to that too, haven't thought about it particularly.

Squad called up :

Bizzarri, Muslera, Cribari, Diakitè, Kolarov, Radu, Lichtsteiner, Brocchi, Makinwa, Matuzalem, Mauri, Dabo, Eliseu, Cruz, Foggia, Zarate, Rocchi, Perpetuini.

Cribari-Radu-Diakite are the only CB, would bellardini risk start with them, if one of them is injured or red carded, we will have to change back to 4-3-3

---------------------Muslera

-------------Diakite---Cribari---Radu

But i think he wont change this match

Again the 1st half like against Villareal, we had one shot on goal in the 25th and then nothing.

We can't play offside trap, we can't produce anything from set pieces or corners, if we take anything from this match it will be a miracle.

Throw in Cruz for high balls and keep punting the ball his way, keep fingers crossed, maybe sth happens

For gods sake..

All this saluting of Bari keeping teams scoreless etc etc This is what teams newly promoted do...if anything, they make sure that defence is the priority...some do it well others dont..

Throw in Cruz...So much experience...good at his feet and a big body...see how top notch they are with a trident like rocchi-cruz-zarate...

we really need to hit bari from the start of this match..now the confidence is there...

if we cant score with cruz, rocchi and zarate then we may aswell forfeit...

I'm disgusted by our performance at this point. Really...we conceded a goal in the 11th minute to Bari? Pathetic. We have 45 minutes and some change to try and get a draw at this point.

Sleep

Need to turn this around or we're going to continue to drop in the table and end up with 15 draws this season.
