I've also always thought about this. Personally I think Sergio deserves a call up to the Italian NT. After the season's end he should feature in some friendlies for Lippi and company and see how he does. I think he can hack it. Lippi insists on taking no more than 5 strikers to South Africa. On current form I'd definitely opt for Di Natale, Gilardino and Pazzini. The remaining 2 I would choose from Rossi, Borriello, Iaquinta, Matri and Floccari.

I'm sure we all want to see Sergio at the WC, or at least given a chance. Either way I love the guy and he has been instrumental for us since his January move.

I think there is about 0 chance that he will go. With Lippi's nazionale it's not about whether you deserve it, but whether you are part of the 'gruppo'.

I can't see Matri or Floccari getting the nod. Luca Toni on the other hand has a fairly decent chance to make the cut, even though he is not good enough.

Don´t agree. Many other players had shot bad penalties in our team.
Baggio was also a "bad" player, when he missed the penalty at the world cup final????!!!!!!

You are not stupid, but not only Sergio is to blame for the loss. The whole team let a dead opponent live again.

It´s clear that Sergio´s pk was very bad, but he scored some important goals for us - with him - we are still fighting against relegation. If we were without his goals - maybe we would be relegated yet.

His missed penalty was the turning point of the match...if he would have scored Riomma never would have bounced back, those cunts!!
Anyway I don't blame him for our loss, it's always a team that looses...
The whole season is cursed, how many penalties did we miss yet??

Just came to say the same thing , but you wrote it first Go and say that in Floccari's face mr big deal Cash or whatever , what a bunch of child in this forum..... Oh I am so depressed , oh it will never be the same , we lost , what a nightmare and so on. Get a grip and deal with the situation like man, writing smelling as.s like that make you look really stupid man , what you are expecting to do and prove with such statements I can't understand at all. We fight , we tried and we lost , big deal ,we will try harder next time and the luck will be with us. Floccari will score eventually....
