| Meghni today has announced that he wishes to represent Algeria at international level (New FIFA Rules permit)
Best of luck to him, and Algeria are in a very good position to make it to the 2010 World Cup.

| great player but realy unlucky with the injuries, but he s young, personaly i will keep him, that kind of technic it s hard to find and to see every day,all of us now about he s injuries (he s bad side),i just want to remind of him another good sides except technic-we haved some games when we was outside as team(hard to say but all of us player was escaping from ball)-like against real in madrid(in CL,the only our player who was trying and keep the balans(unfortunatly just 15-20 min) was meghni),also against milan these year in olimpico(in first half tru leader),also if you watch(i have no doubt)our games,is interesting that almost all teams that we plays against when meghni plays market him with two players. | |

| I like the guy and don't want him to leave but at the same time I don't know if his injury lay offs will continue as they have done so far. I agree with Caxi - a loan would be the best option but off course it also depends on how Celtic see it. | |

| I think that Celtic, or any other club, is not that stupid to invest 6 mil. in him. Like him or NOT, he will stay with us unless Lotitio decides to give him as a present to some Serie B team. | |

| Since the new FIFA ruling, stating that players with multiple nationalities can change what national team they want to belong to at any age and not before theý turn 21, as was the rule before, Meghni has recieved a phone call from the Algerian federation (his parents are Algerian, he has himslef represented France's under 21 team)and is probably going to get a call pretty soon.
This fragile player is having problems playing one game each week, I wonder how he will respomd to playing two games per week with Lazio, and also playing in a NT. For me, this is not good news. Not if he is staying anyway.

| Good point Cash. But maybe it will motivate Meghni? He wants to represent Algeria a lot and will do his best to get in good shape for club and country as he also wants to prove his worth at Lazio. The new FIFA law, for me, is positive for world football and hopefully it will benefit both Mourad and Lazio, and also countries like Algeria. | |

| Guess my standpoint is that i want Meghni to leave. If he stays, I rather see the Algeria call up as a potential disaster, Otherweiss I think it is a good development, while I also believe that we will soon see national teams that are everything but national. Just as in other sports. As anb example, Bahrain and Qatar "buy" runners from Kenya to represent and win gold medals for them in the olympics... | |

| The FIFA legislation is absolute bullcrap.
example : Eduardo "Dudu" Da Silva. I have total respect for his football abilities and personal traits. The FIFA legislation allows him to play for Croatia based solely on the citizenship he was awarded for his prolonged stay during his spell with Dinamo Zagreb. Now he's an indispensable player for the NT.
This now opened the door for other players to seek citizenship and try to get to the NT, some seeing the NT as a stepping stone to bigger and better clubs, gaining exposure on the world scene, whereas they'd have no chance in hell of appearing in their homeland NT or they have the misfortune of being born and raised in a country not famous for it's national side.
The Football Federation is now eager to find already developed players from abroad whose great-great-grandfather was Croatian and lure them to the NT instead of developing young players from the youth system and nurcher them. These players suddenly have great love for the shirt, the flag and so on but can barely write or speak Croatian, have absolutely no cultural bonds and believe that the universal expression of patriotism is folk music, xeno/homophobia and nationalism.
If Meghni has such great love for Algeria he should have played for their youth system. Now that his career is stagnating he's trying to weasel himself t the NT knowing that he can't even be a waterboy for France's NT.

| Interesting point Sile but its a win win situation. He can't fight to France NT and Algeria would welcome such player. I got your point but do you agree that fans only care about results and the NT and not players. | |

| Well i guess Morad played his cards well, he is gonna go to world cup 2010.
What where his chances with france ? i think zero, and i would say france under dominic wont go far , not further then algeria in world cup.
So good luck, i hope this helps his morale and plays better here at lazio to prepare well for southafrica.

Actually i think he limped off with an injury, other then that the Algerian coach is very strict , he told him no flashy moves, stick to the left middle to stop the Egyptian right back, that was his sole role in the match. H e did hold the ball well compared to his teammates.
