| LazioFever.org always remember one of us. GABRIELE "GABBO" SANDRIThe great Lazio fan Gabriele Sandri, a popular DJ, was killed last November, in a motorway service station near the Tuscan city of Arezzo. He was hit by a bullet in the neck as he sat in a car while police tried to stop a fight between Lazio and Juventus supporters traveling north to watch their team in Parma. The policeman who fired the shot told it was a tragic mistake. The officer said he fired his pistol more than 200m (660ft) away from Gabriele who was sitting in a car on his way to see Lazio play Inter Milan. He said "the first shot I fired in the air and the second went off as I was running. What a fool. Now I know what happened, I am devastated. I have destroyed two families, that of this boy and mine," he added. The first minister said that time that the police could shot with arms opened. But … nothing happened. We lost Gabriele, a great Lazio’s supporter who invited in his blog to go support Lazio in Milan … he didn’t know that he wouldn’t see the game … was his last trip … To his funeral went many footballers, including Lazio’s team and thousand of people asking for justice. Gabri has gone but is always in all laziali hearts ... mr Sandri in front of his son banner in the Olimpico before lazio Bologna

| it's a testimony to Lazio fans throughout the world in how they handled the sad demise of our Gabriele.
he is in our hearts now and forever.
the sad death of Gionata Mingozzi brought Gabriele into my thoughts and he will always be one with Lazio.
Rest In Peace Gabriele.

| I think about his poor family. I don't know if I would have strength to deal with it.
Ermie could you post that picture of the Lazio player touching the photo after scoring a goal?

| What has happened with the investigation around the killing of Gabi? I know that a policeman is more or less impossible to press charges again and that it is even harder to get him convicted, but still I wonder how this is dealt with by authorities... | |

Policeman Apologises For Sandri Killing The policeman who shot dead Lazio fan Gabriele Sandri last year has spoken for the first time about his pain and regret, and has asked for forgiveness. But the brother of the victim has shunned the olive branch. Sandri was shot dead by policeman Luigi Spaccarotella on November 11 last year, following a fight between Lazio and Juventus supporters at a motorway service station.
There has since been much debate over whether the policeman could have avoided the killing. Spaccarotella has always declared the shooting an “accident”, maintaining that the fatal second bullet discharged unintentionally, after an initial shot into the air had been fired in an attempt to disperse rival fighting fans.
However, there have also been reports that he could be charged with ‘murder’. Ten months on, Spaccarotella has finally apologized for what he did, but he insists that the killing was an accident.
"I hope one day to receive forgiveness, but I am also aware that it will be almost impossible,” said Spaccarotella.
“I would like to meet with the family members of Gabriel, but I know it will be difficult.
"That day, a part of me also died. A few days later I asked the bishop of Arezzo to get in touch with the Sandri family to offer my condolences, but I was told the time was not right.
“I understand their pain, and if I was in their place I would be the same.
“But it was an accident, and certainly I did not want kill him. I want to pay for what I did, but not for murder. It was an accident. Work is also no longer the same for me."
However, the brother of Sandri, Cristiano, commenting on the words of Spaccarotella, says he does not believe in the sincerity of the policeman.
"For ten months there has been no apology, either by phone or on television, and until today we have never heard from anyone, neither him nor anyone else,” Cristiano stated.
Anthony Sormani I have no comment.
