We can't and we wont forget : Gabriele Sandri

Even though i`m not italian and even though i never meet Gabriele, every time Lazio scores i shout "goal" and after that i think (and hope)that Gabi is happy..where is he and he`s smilling.


After all...we`re only talking here about the team, about the coach, about tactics and all...but Gabi DIED for Lazio and he DIED because he was going to support Lazio. He`s love for Lazio turned out to be a symbol for us. GRAZIE GABI !!

I am with you on that one Kurama. never have I met Gabbo, and I did not who he was before the tragic death. But each time we score, we win or lose, I think of him. In Gabbo I think all Laziali find a bit of oneself. We are fortunate enough to be here and see our beloved team. He is with the angels watching the team. But in the end we are all together.
I get so proud when I see him travelling around to all away games, standing in the crowd as the symbol for our unity, despite all hard times. He is in our hearts forever.

Gabriele Sandri was killed on November 11, 2007, following a shooting at a motorway rest stop in Badia al Pino, near Arezzo.

It was alleged that policeman Luigi Spaccarotella pulled the trigger to stop a scuffle between Lazio and Juventus fans and accidentally shot dead the 28-year-old.

Arezzo prosecutors have today released the computerized video which reconstructs the events leading up to the shooting and Spaccarotella is pictured holding his gun with both hands while aiming at the vehicle of the Laziali supporters.

It is suggested that the bullet hit a metallic fence and then the window of the Renault Scenic, before fatally hitting Sandri.

The clip was made following witnesses' statements and lasts 1 minute and 37 seconds.

Five Lazio fans are seen clashing with three Juventini next to a car in the vicinity of the service area. They suddenly start running and Spaccarotella starts shouting from the opposite rest stop, before firing a warning shot in the air.

Sandri and his friends get in the car and are about to leave the service area when Spaccarotella again pulls the trigger, but the bullet is deflected off the fence, hits the front window of the Scenic and then Sandri, who was sitting in the back seat

This is beginning to look like sth out of Monty Python, they just can't be serious. Is that really the best excuse the italian police can give? This is an insult to common sense and to Gabbo and his family and friends.

Somehow Spaccarotella did it for purpose and that video is unfair for Gabbo family and friends. Justice for him.

GABRIELE SANDRI CASE - SPACCAROTELLA ABSENT

Spaccarotella was absent today at the first audience in the case "Gabriele Sandri", the Lazio fan who was killed by a bullet fired by the police officer, back in November. This is not the first time he did not show up. Months ago, the police officer didn not show up after he received 'death threats from ultras around Italy.

The family of Gabriele was furious. Christiano, Gabriele's brother was sarcastic. "Maybe he had some troubles on the highway?" Also the dad was not in a good mood. "Let's face it, he doesn't dare to look me in the eyes. This is not the first time he doesn't show up. The first time because he was afraid and now God knows why. Will he show up next time? He knows very well that the shot has not been fired accidently. The reconstructions have shown that Spaccarotella has lied in his declarations and we can call ourselves lucky that he only killed one person that day, and not five."

Present as always, a handful of Lazio fans, with banners. "Time for justice for Gabriele", "Forever one of us".


SPACCAROTELLA RISKS 20 YEARS OF JAIL

Spaccarotella, the police officer who shot Lazio fan Gabriele Sandri, is likely to be charged with 'volontary murder' and therefore risks a sentence of 20 years in jail. Spaccarotella had lied in his first declarations, back in November 2007, saying the shot went off accidently while running behind a car. After more investigations and according to four eye witnesses, Spaccarotella was holding his gun with two hands in a horizontal position, clearly pointing at the car. The next audience will be held on the 20th of March.

That video is quite horrific, can't believe it's been released. Hope justice is done soon.
