Simone Inzaghi is planning to make things complicated for his new Coach by reviving his Lazio career.

Like his brother Filippo, Inzaghi Junior wants to show that class and talent go beyond any age limits and will strive to do well for the Biancocelesti.

“I feel good,” noted Simone. “Last year I broke my shoulder but before then I was nearly ready to play.

“Now I am ready to have a good season. There is plenty of competition but many games to play as well so I am hoping to earn my space.

“The fans always liked me. In the last ten years I have done a lot for this club but I have to admit I received a lot too.”

Davide Ballardini is now in charge of the team and could give him a chance, previous boss Delio Rossi never really appreciated him.

“The boss doesn’t speak much but expresses precise concepts. Everybody liked him straight away. He will do well in Rome.

“Aside from Inter, Milan and Juventus this Lazio side can face anyone in Serie A with no fear,” concluded Inzaghi.

I guess that is true, but Napoli, Rioma, Genoa, Palermo, udinese, Fiorentina and Sampdoria can look at this with the same approach. I guess that illustraits the leagues depth. Should make for a great season

Where did you read that? As far as I know Inzaghi either has the same contract from Baraldi or a newer restructured one from Lotito but that would have been signed years ago.

As far as I knew he was on a 900,000/season salary until 2009. In late 2008 he signed a new 2 year deal I believe. Maybe around the time he scored his one goal hehehe. I was just quoting c. testa who said he was on 950k/year. Any idea what a more accurate figure is because it sounds absurd. Anyway I don't mind having Inzaghi as 3rd choice striker behind Cruz and Rocchi. Hopefully Makinwa leaves and Kozac or Mendicino can be brought in slowly.

Simone is retiring from playing to become a coach.

He'll start his career with the Lazio youth sector.

It was inevitable, anyone that shows loyalty to Lazio/Lotito is rewarded beyond their playing career, hence the long contracts. I've always said it and I'm glad for Simone.

I never forget a Scudetto winner.

I don't mind when loyalty results in a legend of our club becoming a coach at the club he has served for ten years and it is nice to see Lotito grant him that opportunity but of course, it will be too much when Manfredini is in charge of fitness and Makinwa is an advisor to our forwards...

dont get me wrong im super happy inzaghino will remain with us, despite his failure lately i still hold a special place for him in my heart, its a good move by lolito, lets hope it doesnt turn into a tare

Simone deserves a hug and a nice farewell. Undoubtedly he could have ended his playing career in a more "playing" manner but he remains a part of our golden squad and a valuable player to have.

Remember, he's one of how many players exactly that scored 4 goals in a CL game. Yeah that's right, Simone is a walking legend

Wasted talent for sure. I’m glad he is remaining at the club as he is a link to former glories and it will benefit everyone (as long as he doesn’t teach players to sit on long contracts and never play )…
