because :
1. Like Catania, I think Siena will play with formation 10-0-0
2. Siena beat Fiorentina last week.
3. Pandev will not play against Siena
doesn't matter with the score... Lazio must win And your reason also can be good for us : 1. Like Catania, we can crush them down. 2. After beating Fiorentina they are probably going to be overconfidence.. it better than facing a hurt lion like Milan or Bologna was.. 3. The absents of Pandev will make Rossi's job to decide the starters easier... Foggia 99% will be a starter, he doesn't have to be benched again, and our tridente will be Rocchi, Zarate and Foggia, who knows it will work better for a defensive team like Siena and we can save Pandev's energy for the derby game though... | |

| So it seems Brocchi and Radu are one yellow card away from a suspension, and Rossi doesn't want to risk that before the Derby game. From today's training session we had Kolarov at left back, with Dabo playing in the middle. This makes sence, Dabo was pretty impressive against Chievo, and I would prefer Kolarov to Radu in a game like this anyway. Anyhow, this is how we lined up in Formello today:
Carrizo
Lichtsteiner-Diakhite-Rozehnal-Kolarov
Dabo-Ledesma-Meghni
Mauri
Zarate-Inzaghi
Rocchi has a bout of flu and Foggia took a knock in the Catania game, but both are very likely to be back for the Siena game. I'm guessing Mauri will move back into midfield with Dabo and Ledesma, with Foggia and Zarate either side of Rocchi. Don't know if anything is wrong with Siviglia, and it seems Rossi and Cribari have had a fall out. Don't quote me on that though | |

Lichti seems massively fit, he doesn't look like he needs a break at all. I kind of think De Silvestri should be kept for the Derby. Although I'd like to see Lichti feature there, I think Lorenzo would come alive in a Derby. Siena's Portanova has been talking about the upcoming game. Seems to be a big laziale: http://www.goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=951062 | |

| Portanova has a lot of respect from me.
Last year Siena played Inter in the lead up to the Scudetto, and an Inter win would've virtually sealed it. Meanwhile, everyone back home was cheering on Riomma hoping they'd upset Inter. Various people came out and claimed to be Roma fans and saying Forza Roma all this trap.
Portanova came out and said that he has always been a laziale, and even though he'd try and beat Inter, he hoped with all his heart that Roma would not win Lo Scudetto. He is a professional, so dont expect any favours from him, but he showed his lazialita' by admitting he was a Laziale at a time when it wasn't convenient for him to do so.
On il Derby, we shouldn't be thinking about it yet but if you're like me then you cant get your mind off it hahahah. I'd love to see Lorenzo and also Fabio Firmani play some part. Never underestimate the power of passion in these games and these guys are the biggest laziali at the club. | |

| Portanova e veramente un grande !!! He has stated his love for Lazio at many occasions. I even remember once I went to a Lazio-Siena game in Olimpico which ended with the disappointing scoreline 1-1. Fernando Couto scored for us, but Portanova equalized in the middle of the second half. He didnīt celebrate the goal, but just walked back to his own half. That was in the season 2004/05 Lazio-Siena ?? Sticazzi. We have more important things to worry about Play the Primavera | |

| I know the Derby della Capitale is the week after the Siena match and surely Rossi and the team are already thinking about the derby game but this game should not be forgotten or not given a sh*t about. Its natural for any team to not care too much about a game the game before a big rival match but the team needs to concentrate here and give a good performance. Some first team regulars will be missing but it will still be a strong Lazio side which will hopefully cause Siena difficulty and put them under pressure at the Olimpico. Hopefully the players on the pitch this Sunday give 100% and play to win but I feel good that they will as players who have had little playing time so far this season will want to give a good performance and make a good name for themselves and the regulars will want to get ready for next weeks crunch game. I want a good Lazio performance against the Tuscans.... FORZA LAZIO!!!! NON MOLLARE MAI!!!! | |

| I would love to see S. Inzaghi in this game from the very first beginning. He impressed when he came in against Catania, worked hard and seems he found him self again. Play him and Rocchi, who needs some minutes before the derby, rest Pandev and Zarate can came in if we need it.
---------------Carrizo------------------
De Silvestri---Cribari--Diakité---Kolarov
--------Dabo---Ledesma--Meghni------
----------------Foggia--------------------
----------S.Inzaghi-----Rocchi------------
btw, does anybody knows the condition of Matuzalem? | |

| Interesting stat - of our 5 games to be played throughout November, including last week vs Catania, 4 of them are at the Olimpico and we dont have to leave Roma until the last weekend when we travel to Bergamo.
Moving on from the Catania win, now we have Siena @ home, and gunning for our 3rd win on the trot.
Goran Pandev is suspended and some others will be rested. This isnt a bad thing, provided we get the job done, because we have a tough run coming up, and the likes of Pandev haven't had a break since September. Remember he's been full on with the Maco team as well.
There won't be a full strength side, but for obvious reasons, anything less than a win is unacceptable. Just hope the boys dont have their minds on il Derby like I do.
Taken from the media, this is 90% likely to be the lineup:
----------------Carrizo Lichtsteiner---Diakite'---Rozehnal-----Kolarov -------Dabo-------Ledesma-------Meghni ------------------Mauri -------------Rocchi----Zarate
Sostituti: Muslera, De Silvestri, Siviglia, Radu, Brocchi, Foggia, Inzaghi.
Modibo Diakite is a promising CB and gets his first start (I think) since breaking his leg in the 2007 rd.1 clash vs Toro.
Pasquale Foggia was going to get the start, but if I understand it, he's picked up a slight injury and in doubt. He's been named for the bench, so I assume he's in contention at least.
Matuzalem and Firmani will wait a week to return.
Brocchi and Radu will miss the Derby if they get booked. It is 4 yellows for a 1 game ban isn't it?
Siena likely lineup:
-----------Maccarone------Frick --------------------Kharja --------Galloppa---Codrea---Vergassola Del Grosso---Portanova---Rossettini---Zuniga --------------------Curci

| I thought it was 5 yellows and you are off for one game... Guess the right thing is to field "hungry" players for a game against average Siena just before the Derby. Foggia will be needed there so if he has a slight injury he should be rested and only thrown in if we are not winning and we need someone to save us Seriously, we need a win from this game to feel we are as strong at home as we should be. Siena could create troubbles for us, but if we get that crucial early goal we can sail away with the three points with a comfy margin in the end. Not leaving rome for that many games is good now, but when the second half of the season is played we will have to be out of home every week for a month, except for the clash against Merda next time... | |

| Players called up for the game: GK: Carrizo, Muslera D: De Silvestri, Lichtstainer, Kolarov, Radu, Diakite, Rozehnal, Siviglia M: Brocchi, Dabo, Matuzalem, Ledesma, Mauri, Foggia F: Rocchi, Zarate, Inzaghi Cribari once again left out of the squad because of Rossi's technical choice. And according to the media, Rossi decided to play Siviglia instead of Diakite. (I wonder what will Rossi do when Siviglia retires from football? There aren't many decent CB's in Serie A which get on well with Mr. Delio Rossi ) | |

| This is my list of convocati, from Lalaziosiamonoi.it
Portieri: Carrizo, Muslera; Difensori: Lichtsteiner, De Silvestri, Siviglia, Rozenhal, Diakite, Radu, Kolarov; Centrocampisti: Brocchi, Dabo, Ledesma, Meghni, Mauri, Foggia; Attaccanti: Zārate, Rocchi, S.Inzaghi.
Cribari and Makinwa excluded for "technical reasons". Meghni is in, as is Foggia.
Their predicted starting lineup is with Foggia and Mauri both in the side, supporting Zarate. Siviglia ahead of Diakite, although I personally think Diakite should start. | |

I hear rumours that osasuna and malaga are keen to get Makinwa during the January window. Now he is left out of the squad. is even Dellio understanding his time is over..? | |

| It is a shame that we have let in so many goals so far. 12 goals conceded in 10 games is far from ok...It is a wonder that we have not sorted out the defebsive line considering how miserable we were last season (I get struck by this every now and then so I just had to let it out...)
However, at home we are stronger and we have only conceded two. Siena has picked up 1 point in five games away and altogether they have only scored 8 goals this season (conceded as many). I think a win in tomorrows game is a must, the only thing standing in our way is the Derby. If we could only break the deadlock early in the game...
Another interesting thing to look at is what teams play eachother tomorrow. Inter clash with Udinese and it could end in any way, napoli face a Sampdoria that is better than their record so far shows, Milan play away from home and if anyone saw Milans game against Braga they understand that it is not 100% sure they will beat Lecce. Viola plays atalanta (should end with a home win) and Genoa faces Reggina at home where they have got 5 straight victories so far. Juve has had a good run lately and they travel to Verona trying to do what we did the last time Chievo played at home. What I am trying to show is that after this weekend the table can look very different to what it does at the moment, and with a win tomorrow we could look forward to the Derby with confidence knowing we belong to the very top of the league. With a loss we could sit in something like the 8th place or so. A tight league means that we cannot drop points against teams like Siena. (Unfortunately we altready dropped points against lecce and Bologna, making it even more important that we beat Siena tomorrow..) | |
