we're really missing a link between the midfield and the forwards. again passing in the final third was sloppy at best. i think the three forward system isn't working for us. i'd like to go back to a diamond midfield with foggia behind the forwards. he doesn't seem as effective playing wide in this scheme.

just watched the highlights and must say that Rocchi had 2 opportunities to score...if we continue to waste our chances it will not get us anywhere

This is how we always should play, exept maybe if Matuzalem is fit but him instead of Brocchi, and sometimes put Meghni in the Veron-role
I can't understand whe Rossi insists on playing three defensive and one offensive in the midfield, now we have all quality for the diamond-formation
when Oddo left and players where injured it was a success back then to put Behrami on the Oddo spot and play Muta-Mudi-Ledesma, and Mauri infront

but now it's different times and diffrent players, why not try the old-school diamond that brought home the scudetto? It is more offensive and balanced

That tactic is way too offensive and even the weaker teams would beat us. Even if we switched Kolarov with Radu and Mauri with Dabo it would still be too offensive.
Brocchi/Dabo & Ledesma just isn't good enough to also have Foggia in the midfield.

WHAT are you ytalking about boy, WE NEED TO ATTACK!!! ATTACK IS OUR STRENGTH!! If attacking is what this team is good at then attacking is what this team shall do!!
No way too offensive, how do you mean, it is BALANCED! 5 offensive and 5 defensive players on the field, how could it be too offensive??? NO WAY!! This tactic of Mr Rossi is WAY TOOOOOO DEFENSIVE!!! With Rossi it seems we only will defend and avoid relegation, a REAL champion will attack and attack and attack. ATTACK IS BEST DEFENCE and when you attack and loose the ball then THE WHOLE TEAM MUST BACK TO DEFENCE AND WIN THE BALL BACK TO ATTACK AGAIN!!! We have the best F*ckin attack in Serie A if played right, but Rossi doesn't want to win games, he only wants to defense!!! NEW COACH AFTER THIS SEASON!!!!
Sorry guys but Rossi is a CHICKEN

Haven't seen the game yesterday, but seems that Delio Rossi has no clue what to do with the 'tridente'.
At the start of the season, we missed Rocchi due injury, so it was clear that Pandev & Zarate were our striking force, but now Rocchi is back ... and Delio has lost the plot !

We are missing the connection with our attack. Pandev and Zarate where returning to the centar to receive a ball. Mehni was terrible the weakest player on the pitch, sometimes I really wish that Mauri comes instead of him. Cribari on the other hand receives 10, he played very good hole game. Lich can work out on his assistance, he just shots the ball whatever.....

Overall bad day Embarassed

That's harsh, I thought Meghni did well, he seemed the only player that could pass the ball and he always chased back and made a few decisive defensive challenges. Good performance. Foggia was by far the best on the pitch and I was also impressed by Cribari, he was solid and made some very good tackles.

I'm quite disappointed. I'm thankful we escaped Olimpico (how funny is that) with 1 point. When Genoa scored, I for sure thought this game was done. Not because I lack faith, but because Lazio just couldn't get anything going. Thank you, Dabo! Regardless, once again, I think we could have won the game. Anyhow, not sure what needs to be done, but our offense is dragging. We should really be putting in more goals.

The problem was that this 3 strikers stuff isnt something that Rossi can handle. Even subs were stupid..strikers after strikers. The real problem was the midfield because they couldnt provide good balls for our strikers. And of course that was impossible since Dabo and Brocchi aren`t creative players, they are made to destroy. Foggia isnt a 100% midfielder..yet he had to do a normal left/right midfielder business. He wont do anything from this position. And on top of that..even when it was 0-1, Rossi starts to play with 4 strikers and again..no balls. We scored from 30 m from a good shot and a big gk mistake..because strikers didnt really had many chances. In fact, if you look at Zarate, Pandev or Rocchi..they were always at 40 m far away ..because they had to get down to colect balls. And when they did, of course there wasnt anyone in front to pass. Logic. Rossi could have put in the field another 100 strikers..we wont get score chances like this. When Zarate is always fighting in our territory, somewhere near the line..to touch the ball, we can`t score and eventualy our opp`s will. The only thing that could have take balls into Genoa`s penalty box .. was Lich and Kolarov. Yet again..they didnt had one single good cross.
This isnt only about this match..we are doing this match after match. And still..Rossi can`t understand where our problem is: system and midfield.
To be honest..i would rather see a 100% left midfielder like Manfredini and let Foggia or Zarate to do what they know best. But no..we are playing strikers near the line..isolate Rocchi/Pandev .. and having 2 distructive players Ledesma/Brocchi or Dabo/Ledesma or Brocchi/Dabo ..... for nothing. We don`t defend a 0-0 to qualify somewhere. Rossi just can`t understand football and i`m afraid that era where we`re gonna fight to avoid relegation has begun.

True champions always attack.
This may be true in Pro evolution Soccer... The only team that attacks all the time are Barca and perhaps Bayern and Lyon.

If you watched the game you could see that only by the grace of god and the blindness of the assistant ref we didn't concede early on. And they had several other chances, Milito had a shot straight at Carizzo and one wide after Rozehnal failed to close the shot down, plus that chance Palladino had and switched to his left but the shot was too weak, not to mention the penalty.
And I'm sure without Dabo in the midfield we'd have more holes than Jenna Jameson.

Nice pics. I saw that the Genoa fans had a banner saying "Ciao Gabriele".

Nice gesture from the Genovese.
