Giampaolo is just a good coach for small teams which are trying to avoid relegation. Thats the hardest job in the league. If he can do that, he is good.

| I was talking to a freind today, and he said he had read that Rossi will get the two games against Viola and Milan to show if he is worth staying with us (I highly doubt that thre is such an agreement, but still). He said that this was reported in Corriere dello Sport, but i could not find the article myself. However, Goal has reported on it: http://www.goal.com/en/news/698/lazio/2009/01/30/1085064/lazio-coach-delio-rossi-two-games-away-from-the-sack-reportI dont know what a sacking actually would bring, and if this rumour is true it must mean that Rossi is leaving in any case because if he manages to pull these two games and then fails against some weaker opposition, I am sure the talk will be back again and that is not the kind of atmosphere needed in a club, specially not at this moment. I have said it before, no mid-season firing would be good for us, and we are not dragged into the relegation battle, so we should see this season out and then evaluated the coaching position for the next season. To be able to keep players that other teams in Europe are interested in, we need to play in CL or UEFA next year. The first option is probably not reasonable, but reaching UEFA is most definetely within our reach... | |

| I think Lotito is hellbent on making Europe and if we don't move back up the table, sacking Rossi may be unavoidable.
It would be foolish financially but only if we fail to make Europe. Us mot making Europe season in season out is not good for the team or the bank balance.

| Interesting... Lazio deny Rossi dismissal Friday 30 January, 2009 Lazio were subjected to a fresh fan protest this afternoon, but the club officially denies it has hired Marco Giampaolo to replace Delio Rossi. “We were disconcerted to read some news sources claiming the club wanted to bring in Marco Giampaolo for Delio Rossi,” was the note on the Biancocelesti website. “SS Lazio point out with great strength that this story is utterly without foundation.” The tension is rising after fans again protested at the Formello training ground following embarrassing defeats to Sampdoria and Cagliari. Earlier this week Rossi had to interrupt a training session when angry supporters crowded around the camp, some climbing over fences. “There is absolutely no split between the club and Rossi,” assured technical director Ighli Tare on Radio Kiss Kiss. “In fact, Lazio have the utmost faith in the Coach and the rest is just speculation that nobody needs. Let it be clear once and for all – the only certainty is that Rossi will remain our tactician.” The club also denied reports that Tommaso Rocchi would be sold, that Fabio Firmani had already signed with Livorno or claims they were seeking a new goalkeeper. The pressure is on ahead of Sunday night’s showdown with Milan and Tare is remaining fairly confident. “It will not be an easy game, but right now we need a result. Over the last two days we asked ourselves what happened in those defeats and hope on Sunday we can get the answer on the field. “We are a great squad and we want to prove that.” http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/jan30r.html | |

| Marco Giampaolo No way, i prefer to stay delio if we want gain another average coach, we really dont need him, he dont have anything more than delio for us, i hope if we want change delio we gain a first class coach like ericson, not giampaolo or Miha (at this time, he must gain 3,4 years experiment) & simone... |

| They who still want Rossi in our team have better chances then thoose who don't beacuse Lotito thinks the same about the situation. It is that why they are not "fighting" as much as the other laziali who don't wan't him in the team. What's the odds of he is leaving?? 15% for Yes and 85% for No. Vattene | |

Well then, f*cking prove it, you piece of sh*t! Pff some people really get carried away on a forum, from thousands of kilometres away, without having a clue what's going on. Did you see Cagliari beat Juve last night? Remember Caglari? Are the Juve players 'mercenari' now? Should they also be insulted by their own fans now, attacked with banners and shouting on their training field? Should the coach leave, knowing their squad is ten times better than ours - and that there's no way on earth that they could possibly lose to a team like Caglari? Just, please, give it a break, we're still on schedule and on 6 points from a 4th place in the rankings. Chill out, and if Rossi will really fail - I'm sure he will have to leave at some point. I'd say, support our Lazio and stop with the swearing and the big, easy words and the 'mercenari' and the 'piece of sh*t, because it only shows you don't have a clue. AVANTI LAZIO! |

AVANTI LAZIO! I get your point, and all in all I agree with you. But there is a large difference between juve yesterday and Lazio against cagliari. Juve fought! Juve tried. Juve wanted to control the game. And they had their heads hanging after the goals, they felt dissapointed. That was what was missing in Lazio. Somebody actualluy caring about what was going on. No one said anything about Cagliari and their game. They are impressive, Very strong. But you can lose like a man, or lose like a bunch of wankas. Now is not the time to let this get to us again. New game, new week. No chance for our boys to win the hearts back. It only takes one game. Everything changes very fast in football... Non Mollare Mai!

Non Mollare Mai! We didn't fight against Caglari? Maybe you saw a completely different game than me then. First half wasn't good enough, I agree, although it has to be said that Cagliari scored 3 times out of 3 chances, which in football is not common at all. The whole (!) second half we pressed Cagliari against their own goal, and with a bit more luck we would have scored a couple of times out of the 4, 5 huge chances we created (not to mention the 2 penalties) and surely would have got a point (at least!). I really don't get why people are saying we didn't fight, because that's all we did - we were just very unlucky and everything that could have gone wrong went wrong (and at the same time everything worked fine for Cagliari). If you say we lost like a bunch of 'wankers', then I find that very sad. Because I saw a team that - despite being 4-1 down - fought until the very last second of the match, if only to respect that jersey and those colours that we support. In any case, whatever you thought of the match, booing your own players such as Carrizo - and Rocchi, who has decided to stay with our club, is simply disgusting. To go to the training ground shouting like a retard and insulting your own players, is simply, disgusting. |
