SEMI-FINALS Coppa LAZIO-JUVENTUS, Tuesday 03-03-09

If you offered me the 2-1 result before the game ended, I would have taken it. However, as great as the second half became, the performance on the whole wasn't mesmeric.

We have to start playing 90 minutes well and this is what I meant in relation to the Bologna game. That was the first time all season, perhaps along with the Fiorentina game where we actually played consistently well for the entire game. Juve were by no means great and on a different day, the result could have been different.

Props to Cribari, the only guy in my opinion that gave his all for 90 minutes.

Just back home after 3 beers , a huge bruschetta with mushrooms, and some fun with Foggia and Tommaso Rocchi.!

after the match i walked out from the stadium with both of them and i was so happy to see the 2 kitty players having so much fun !!!
They all team was happy and not just for tonight victory but for the good atmosphere inside the dressind room.

Even Carrizo and Muslera were happy!!!


Btw a great night, a non stop match, a fantastic scenario full of huge Flags and 90 minutes of non stop support for la LAZIO!!!!!!

But in my honest opinion we played extremely well for about 35 minutes, the rest of the game was very disappointing. However, 35 minutes was enough to beat off Juventus, which is a great result no matter the circumstances.

The first half was very poor. We were playing too slow, which made it easy for Juventus´ physical (and not very skillful) side to take control of the game. When we were in possesion of the ball, we had absolutely no patience but tried to hit an impossible through ball right away. Our strikers got isolated and naturally when playing this way, Juventus were in control of the game. Once again we conceded a rather stupid goal from a personal mistake, this time by Manfredini. A shame

Second half started in the same fashion, but after some 10 minutes it changed. We started to play the ball much faster and that made it possible for Foggia, Pandev and Rocchi to get into these one on one situations and that´s when Juventus could never handle us. Those last 35 minutes were perfect, although it´s a shame we didn´t get the third goal that would have put us in a much safer position going into the return leg.

I can´t find any other explanation than we were being tired. We played a tough game only 3 days ago and unlike Juventus, we played almost with the same team that were performing on saturday...

Tonight the man of the match goes to Curva Nord. Simply fantastic !!!

2-1 score is very dangerous...to be honest I am afraid that a team that showed such a spirit and heart tonight may be outclassed by Juve in the away match in April...I felt really sad, because 2-1 is the score I hate the most...but still...there's a hope, FORZA LAZIO!!!!!!!

2nd half was totally amazing. . Never seen that spirit before, also salute for Curva for its dedication and attraction during the game. Foggia must be man of the match. Can't wait for 2nd leg.

i was thinking the same... but people always used him (and rossi, mauri or muslera) as a scapegoat when we are losing.... forza manfre and forza lazio!!

Incredible win for Lazio. The second leg will be very difficult but I have good faith in the team, especially if this good streak of football and results continues. I don't think any Lazio player played badly. All played well and showed a lot of belief, confidence and passion - and displayed the Laziale 'Non Mollare Mai' belief brilliantly. Great to see.

Their goal was lucky and unlucky for us. I don't blame Manfredini, Kolarov, Muslera or anyone for the Marchionni goal. It was just very unfortunate with several deflections. The Iaquinta goal looked good and onside but was ruled out.... not that I care.... we will take it as it comes!

Even though they scored first, before and after that I felt as Lazio created more and better chances on goal and controlled the ball well. Just unlucky that some more shots on goal did not go in for us, but that's football and hopefully the team carries this high class tempo into the second leg in Turin next month, The way the team responded and carried themselves in the second half made me so unbelievably proud and happy. Well done team!

Anyway still can't get out of my mind Matu's performance - what a show... at a time he was dribbling between 2 3 juve players with no fear and he was getting out of the situation with the ball in his feet. Amazing. He is the perfect partner for Ledesma. About Manfre - I don't think also he did a bad game, although I remember one or two bad passes generally he did good. I think Rossi played him to help at the defensive part.

Who were the bad boys? Only rossi and manfre. Mauri is very slow but he made some good passes and ruined so narrowly an 300% chance.
De Silvestri was also very weak :(

and you're right. Matuzalem has been excellent in the last few games, but his performance this morning was special.

How the fuck was he good? He did exactly that much he could. Wasnt Meghni in doubt for the game then manfre would have dreamed of the game(but its rossi never say never)
For me it was an miracle that the went 2 times past juve. We had many chances to make a counter attack but manfre is so slow and weak in dribbling that he slowed always down. He blow 2-3 very good opportunities in the box corner. Its just lack of money....i dont wanna see him next year in Lazio. We are now a bigger and better team. Mauri is 1000% better than him.
Surely a lot saw he didnt do anything wrong but he didint do nothing good either...and he really cant do anything about it...because hes old and hes has never been a good player.
I wish we had 2 Foggias in our team

Look, Manfredini didn't played his best game, but not even his worst ... he gave maybe 3 bad passes at all and was unlucky giving the assist for the 0-1 ... I think that goal will blame him for this result
