Any chance of a Prediction League on the forum, ahead of the Serie-A Season?

Would be good fun.

Especially as i have no hope with the 'Guess that movie game'

I predict that Centro will still bash about Lotito and Arcadiu will revile his identity.

Jofo gets half a point for getting the first half of his prediction right on the money.

I dont mind running it, would be easy to run.

Simple, match predictions to be due in before the first game starts.

H (Home Win) - D (Draw) - A (Away Win) After each game

Example.

Lazio - Atalanta = H
Siena - Milan = A
Palermo - Napoli = D

1 point for each correct prediction.

League table released after the last match of the round is played.

One definite condition; no prediction on Lazio games. There's a few very superstitious people out there.

If anyone's superstitions lie beyond that they should make themselves known now! Twisted Evil

i think it`s better than every one predict the exact result like:
Lazio 2 -Atlanta 0

& then the correct exact result will be guessed then have 3 points & if only predict correctly the win or loos or tie, then has 1 point.
it will be more satisfaction i think;)
& yes i`m agree that we dont predict lazio games

Agreed.

No Lazio Predictions.

1 Point for Correct prediction, eg, H, D or A.

3 Points for a Correct score.

9 match predictions.

Lets say a correct score prediction is made, ie, Palermo 2-2 Napoli? Obviously this is a draw prediction, but as the exact score was correct, is this 1 Point + 3 or 1 + 2? Meaning the maximum point's for any one game is 3 points to be awarded.

The Guardian run a similar competition which requires 1 point for correct result and 2 points for correct score.

This would make a maximum of 27 points per week. I suggest getting that up to 30 somehow. A bonus 3 points for a week of perfect results predictions? (W L D, not score).

Good idea guys, I like the sound of this!
I used to do a similar thing with Premiership matches just for fun and rarely got much over about 55% over the whole season, so don't expect me to be much competition Embarassed

Again sounds good.

Would be suprised, after 38 weeks, if any of us record 9 perfect predictions. But you never know Wink

Yes, it is unlikely, predicting 9 games accurately will be virtually impossible. But, 3 points will actually count for quite a lot, even after 38 matchdays.

I calculate an absolute perfect score to be 1140 if we use a 30-point system. Nobody will get close to that obviously but if the game works well, we have a nice rounded figure to always work towards and a history of the game could look very pretty in a few years. In terms of working out percentages and overall totals if we change the rules etc. Hard to explain what I'm trying to say but if someone racks up an impressive score over the years, then it would be nice to recognise their efforts.
