Italy - Serie A Empty
PostSubject: Italy - Serie A   Italy - Serie A EmptyMon Jun 02, 2008 7:52 pm

I couldn't find a general place to discuss Serie A, so I hope this is okay. GET ON IT, BELGIO! HAHA!

Ah, it appears the "chosen one" will be the new chief at Inter. I view this move as good and bad.

Good: Well, despite how much I dislike Inter...Jose will bring Serie A some new and exciting players,
more fans and a lot more publicity. Serie A has some what fallen off the map lately and while I don't
view him as the Savior of Serie A...I think it's good that he's coming over for the broad publicity we'll
receive. Much like he did in the EPL for Chelsea a few years back.
As silly as Jose's antics can be on the pitch, he is a good manager and will bring some high calibur
players from the EPL over. It just sucks they're going to Inter. Though, better Inter than Rioma.

Bad: I can't stand Inter or Moratti and while I think they're a bunch of cry babies...we're now
going to have to read about "Inter this and Inter that" for the next 3 years. Oh well...as I mentioned,
it could be way worse - and as long as Lazio improves and Rioma doesn't win the Scudetto...I guess
I should be happy.

Article -

Mourinho will be in charge at Inter for the next three years, the club have confirmed.

A statement on the club's official website reads: "Jose Mourinho is now officially the new Inter coach.

"Mourinho will be assisted by Rui Farias, Silvino and Andrei Villas Boas for his Nerazzurri project.

"Mourinho's number two will be Giuseppe Baresi, who was a youth team coach.

"The new coach will be unveiled on Tuesday morning at 11:30 am at the Appiano Gentile training complex.

"The Portuguese coach has signed a three year contract.

"We would like to thank Roberto Mancini and all his staff for the success he achieved in four seasons as the coach.

"FC Internazionale would like to welcome Jose Mourinho and his staff and we wish them well."

Mourinho will be hoping to bring in a few old faces from Chelsea as he begins his new career at the helm of the Italian champions.

Moratti will be keen on his new coach bringing him the Champions League. Mourinho's wages are not yet known but reports in Italy suggest he will earn around €9m per year.

I think it is good for the Italian football to have Mourinho as a coach.

He is so charismatic and contraversial.

PostSubject: Re: Italy - Serie A   Italy - Serie A EmptyTue Jun 03, 2008 1:46 pm

Yup.. I'm sick of those publicity about EPL, I mean they have 4 great clubs, but that's it, they great because of much more money they have and produced in the last years.
But they only produced less great players than Serie A or La Liga, at least if we look at the national team.

Now Serie A has a press magnet that calling himself "the special one", that is great!! Just like Uragano said he "will bring Serie A some new and exciting players, more fans and a lot more publicity".

This is the right time for Lazio to resurrect! When the whole world are watching!

No worries, Belgio...I know you have your hands full. Beer in one hand. Beer in the other. HA!

On a lighter note...with or without Jose, I do think that Serie A is getting more exciting to the average
viewer. This season, despite our troubles, we saw the emergence of Fiorentina, a new Juventus, a
dirty rival Napoli, the crud of Rome, Rioma and of course your Inter and Milan.

Serie A SHOULD be fairly exciting if the refs (cheap shot on my part) get their acts together.

Fiorentina, Juventus, Inter, Milan, Lazio, Napoli, Rioma, Samp.

I like it.

It's more exciting than Real Madrid Vs Barca in La Liga! Celtic vs. Rangers in Scotland and while
we're not as exciting as EPL...it's a different sort of game in Italy anyways...and we've yet to sell
out...yet.

Italy - Serie A Empty
PostSubject: Re: Italy - Serie A   Italy - Serie A EmptyWed Jun 04, 2008 3:43 pm

HAHAHA! Well, we ALL know this was bound to happen. Basically, finding Milan a way to get into
the CL so that EVERYONE can make some cash! We'll see if it really happens or not, but I have
been waiting for this sort of news. SO PREDICTABLE!!!!

The Rossoneri missed out on a place in Europe’s premier club competition after they only finished fifth in Serie A, following a hugely disappointing campaign.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men, who have been the dominant side in the competition over the past six years, winning two editions, and reaching a final, semi-final and quarter-final, were gearing themselves to play in the UEFA Cup in 2008/09.

However the Diavoli could now be on the verge of being granted a sensational back-door entry back into the Champions League. Bulgarian champions CSKA Sofia could be expelled from the competition due to financial problems,

CSKA have been denied a license to play in the Bulgarian league, and the Bulgarian FA (BFU) has now demanded that they be expelled from Europe too.

The normal procedure is that the BFU send the runner-up Levski Sofia to the CL instead, however it is reported that instead of this, the highest UEFA ranked team not already in the competition will be the replacement, and this is Milan.

The Rossoneri would enter at the second preliminary round, and it would mean that Italy would have five teams in the Champions League, the others being Inter, Roma, Juventus and Fiorentina.

This are journalistic fictions of Itallpress , because even Uefa throw out theBulgarian champion , the second in table position from Bulgaria will take the spot. Like Calcio Poli situation in 2006. It is hard for many Bulgarians. However , we haven't real football championship a long time ago.

Mourinho will be the biggest transfer in Seria A this year.... Inter have done a great job with appointing Jose as a coach no doubt aboit that. I'm looking forward of seeing that charismatic man down the touch line... I really do.... And Inter is a good choice for him as a stepping stone for him to be a succesor of SAF in Man Utd... Something tells me that with his last words before leaving London: I will be back in Premier league.. My next team will not be from Premier league but after that it is a big posability... I have always respect him as a coach and I will always do... Good Luck Mourinho... If Lazio is not able to be champion next season I wouldnt mind Inter to take the crown next year also.... Also I expect and want Man Utd vs Inter to be the next final ni CL

Italy - Serie A Empty
PostSubject: Re: Italy - Serie A   Italy - Serie A EmptySun Jun 08, 2008 2:28 am

Good interview, although i'm more than happy that Serie A isn't as popular as the EPL of La Liga per say and it's down to this:

EPL is the more attractive and lucritive league at the moment and as a result more and more players want to play there. Correct me if i'm wrong but i'm sure now only 35% of players starting a game in England are actually English and as a result you can see what is happening to their national game. Failed to qualify for Euro 2008 and I must say the future doesn't look very good for them.

As an Italian I must say that a major foreign invasion would be the worst thing that could happen to Serie A as Italy has always been consistent in both qualifying and participating in major tournaments and that's down to the high percentage of Italians playing in the league.

Finally, I'll have a good reason to hate Inter. In recent years they had plenty of players I really like (Veron, Cesar, Stankovic, Crespo, Materazzi.. and so on), but now, when some of them already gone, Stankovic and Crespo are on they way out of Inter and Mourinho come there, I'll hate them as much as I hate Roma. I respect Mourinho as a specialist, but I can't stand his arrogance, the way he's talking. He has no respect for his collegues.. This is the main reason why I'll be cheering for Juve and Milan when they play inter. I hope good old Milan guys teach the lesson to Morrati and his millions.

PostSubject: Re: Italy - Serie A   Italy - Serie A EmptyMon Jun 16, 2008 6:32 pm

Have been reading a lot of articles lately since Serie A is over and it seems quite clear to me that the top Italian clubs are really going to go after quite a few OUTSIDE SERIE A transfers. You have Inter linked with just about everyone from Chelsea and the EPL. You have Juve trying to work deals with every league possible and of course Milan who seems to want to bring in everyone from the La Liga.

I'm thinking Serie A could really start to get crazy if some of these transfers go through. Lampard, Ronaldinho, Robinho, Huntelaar, Villa, etc...

One thing is certain - with Jose at Inter now...Milan and Juve will have to be on top of their transfer game, because we know Moratti will do whatever Jose says - which means - brining in anyone and everyone that man desires.
