Europa League, Lazio - Salzburg, Thursday, 17-9-09

This has to be a clear cut win with no questions asked. RB Salzburg are probably the weakest of the group, it's the first game and we play it at home, with some players hopefully returning and the rest keeping with this form there can be no excuses.

Can't wait for Thursday.

Zarate can live out his anger to salzes keeper I hope hes 100% fit.

Seriously anything other than a win would be a disaster, particularly in the wake of the Juve defeat and a tough trip to Catania on the cards.

Hopefully, the boys will see the positives in how they played against Juve and take that into this game. We should dominate, and take the three points. Crucial to get a decent foothold in the group early on.

Salzburg drew 2-2 away at Rapid today, letting a 2-0 half time lead go. Encouraging.

This will be all up to us to do our work. Even if Salzburg have a great night it shouldent be enough as long as our players dont miss preforms and with the great play from yesterdays bout nothing is pointing towards they will. Especially looking forward to se wheter Baronio can maintain that tremendous form from Juve match(if he plays will say).
Will be great to see a hungry Maurito taking out everything he wasnt able to yesterday. Think he will score atleast once for us.
And with the form Muslera is in I wouldnt be suprised if he scores one as well

They have a good goalkeeper, Gustavsson is there main player (as you also can see he is the capitan) but our goaly Nando is much better.
Full support for our Lazio, and 11 lions on the pitch will make a victory for us.

They're actually a very good team, player for player. I just don't think they function too well as a team.

Despite that, they are a danger and will probably score so we need our defence to be tight and hope we have Zarate and co. in top condition to punish them at the other end.

No.
There are really few matches in life that are easy and salzburg is nt' one of them. The proof is the latest one against Juve were 90% of the fans and opinion leaders state the easy victory for Juve and then we all noticed how lazio without Zarate Rocchi matu had , in the first 20 minutes , replyed to each juve action up to the regular score .
So far , i believe that thie match could be easy but everything depend from us and our energy.
I really hope to see our attack line up different from Juve mach and i hope to close the match in the first half without discussion.

Ps is anyoneof the LF members coming to Rome for this match? is anyone in Rome already? ..

also, I don't like how Balla' is talking about 'honoring' the Europa league..... dislike the way Italian sides have in the past not put much attention to the second-tier of Euro competition.... hope we can go far this year.

Red Bull Salzburg was playing on the weekend against Rapid. (In Austria i´m Rapid fan )
Rapid could have scored in the first half about 4 goals. So - the defense is very weak of Salzburg.

In the offense we have to care about Janko or Zickler. One of them will be playing - not both. Janko is good, but not as excellent as last year.

On the right offensive side there is playing Tchoyi. He´s very fast. Radu have to be excellent in the defense. He should only concentrate on the defensive work.


I would play in the offense with Zarate (when he´s fit) and Cruz. Behind of them I would play Foggia. With these 3 offensive players we would put Salzburg under huge pressure.

Lazio must win this game, we are much stronger than Salzburg. It will be a good start if we win this match.

Bizzarri given a chance to let us see what he's here for. Nice to see Meghni in the squad. Really strong lineup, I don't think Salzburg can parry us.

We shouldn't enter the pitch expecting it to be an easy match. We are much better than they on the paper but we have to be focused and play all our strengths so they won't stand a chance.
