| The ball control of Villareal is superior, it was a matter of time to punish us. We are just looking.... Lucky for us we managed to score our first and only chance. | |

| Won't watch the end, the ref f*ck*d it pretty up, on Matuzalem there was a foul, so penalty, and not a yellow for faking one... his 2nd so red.
Uefa f*ck them, they have now 5 referees on the pitch and a 6th on the sideline, no one saw the foul... pretty frustrating.

| HELL YEAH!
We somehow did it, against a team that kept the ball better and was determined to the win and against the retarded ref. Actually I think the ref spurred our players into action, we really looked for the win with ten men and got it. And Lady Luck paid us back for the Red Bull game.
Villareal had one amazing Senna who was everywhere in midfield (the ref not giving him a yellow helped, though) but were too wasteful in attack. We had terrific Zarate and an inspired team effort in the second half, playing soem weird 3-5-2, then-3-4-2 after the monstrously unjust sending off. Anyway, even if we are knocked out soon this game will stay in my memory, we finally showed some quality and spirit in Europe.

| What a return in the game. Lazio , Non Mollare Mai.... I am so happy. I was very stressed after the first half and the fact that we were unable to control the ball with quality. But what a return man, Zarate , Foggia ,Matuzalem , Kolarov , just great. I am very happy with Zarate today , he was our engine and he did influence the rest in our team. Just great , we deserved the victory and I am very happy that Rocchi scored. Now we will have very difficult return match, but we can do it , especially after this performance. Hopefully this will boost our confidence and we will continue with the wins in the calcio | |

| Man i agree, never been so Happy for a long long time about a Lazio Game (Derby's aside).
After the 1st ten minutes, i was deeply worried, lets not lie, Villareal owned us in the 1st half.
But 2nd half we came into it and the spirit after going down to 10 men was truley amazing. Hats off to the lads.
Forza Rocchi & Forza Lazio.

| Didn't catch the game. I'm in fight with my provider all day long, net at the moment is so darn SLOW. Important victory in a important competition for us. Hope this will boost our morale and we do good next games in Serie A against Bari, Calgiari and Siena. Im so hoping this is our turnover victory. Forza Lazio | |

| ok I saw the game. Here's my view:
We didn't control the game at the start. On the contrary villareal had the opportunities to score and only Nilmar's bad aim kept us in the game. At our first decent attack we scored which was great. Their goal was frustrating. At the time of the cross we had I think 4 or 5 people in the penalty box and they had 2 and when the ball was crossed no one jumped ! I wanted to throw the remote at the TV! As for the ref - he is an idiot! First there was a faul against Foggia - not called, then a CLEAR faul on Matu and he gets a second yellow for diving !? WTF! At the end that stupid son of someone awarded villareal with a free kick which should have been ours as our player don't remember who cause I was pissed got the ball 10000% clear and he was tackled from the behind. Overall happy with the win! FORZA LAZIO! We showed some spirit today!
P.S. We had too little opportunities and when Zarate hit the bar at one counter which we had 5 ppl could cost us. Also Cruz' header was a sitter. We didn't have many opportunities this game and if we continue to miss like that this will be the reason not to qualify higher in the liga and in seria a. Great Mauro today, also Foggia and Kolarov. Lichti wanted to kick the ref's ass which was going to be great :)

| "In the second half the team has been forced to go for the game and they are good on the break. We had to try because you have to go to win but we were wrong because we should have gone to preserve the draw but eventually we could not." - Ernesto Valverde. Amazingly negative quotes. Playing against 10 men, and he reckons they should have tried to play for the draw? | |

| Just as I thought the line up was too offensive and we let Villareal take hold of the center of the pitch and they ran us over. Foggia did sh1t defensively as expected, if anyone wants to argue that take a quick look here this was his "effort" just before the goal. Look at how far away he is from Capdevila before the cross. The first half was the worst 45 minutes I watched Lazio play in a long long time. We were incredibly fortunate not to be 3 goals down before half time. Ballardini is a bloody idiot to succumb to the pressure and field a formation we never play just because some players need to be on the pitch because Lippi is in the stands. Not only that but the only sub he makes in half time is take out the player who started the play that lead to the goal. I just hope it's not a serious injury. Look at what Valverde did, he pushed against 10 men without closing the gaps in the back and it bit him hard. We have incredible strength in Rocchi, Zarate and Cruz, the kind of strength that can propel us to heights if we field a midfield to match. The result is good, the passion showed tonight was great, the real "non mollare mai" spirit was with Lazio tonight, but everything else is two thumbs down. Forza Lazio | |
