It's not just italian media, but also norwegian media. Several of our biggest newspapers have articles today saying how much of a disgrace we were yesterday. Funny how they only qoute Rosella Sensi though.

The Italian media look at this negatively for 1 main reason and it has nothing to do with Lazio. Fact is, they want asr to be champions. An asr title to them would be a welcome change from the last five years. We've given a big f*** you not just to asr but to all of Italian football with the exception of Lazio and Inter. who are they kidding?? I've followed calcio italiano all my life and I can only ever remember la sistema. 3 years ago we threw a game on the last round against Siena and cause of that they survive. This is one example of many.

The international media have never, and will never, understand Italian football though. Derbies like ours simply don't exist anywhere else. Maybe in Buenos Aires or somewhere, but certainly not in the UK, certainly not in northern Europe. I don't live in Rome but I've been there many times and I'm familiar with the 'climate' if you like. They aren't. They also don't understand gemellaggi. In what other country do such twinnings exist?? I can't think of one.
The media sensationalise. Inter beating Lazio isn't much of a story. Lazio throwing a game to Inter is. Adding in words like 'disgrace' and openly and wrongly criticising the fans

I'm disgusted at the way what I would usually consider quality publications have reported all this, especially Calcio Italia, who boast about having the best English language coverage of Italian football. Be nice if they understood how it all worked. What's worse though is that people will believe what they write.

Then I took a look at goal.com and was stunned to realise they understood everything. Bravo.

Then you have the Roma fans who think we're a disgrace for singing with Inter. In the 70s they sang and exchanged flags with napoletani and now they're the shining lights on how to support a football team. With a bit of luck, calciopoli II will send them to B and give us the last laugh. It won't happen but I can dream.

Great posts Conn, Lucky Strike and Testa. I also sent a letter last night but it was nowhere as composed as yours, I also said they wouldn't have the balls to publish any of our comments, so far I'm correct.

The media and the rest of the world have always been against us, there's no news there. I don't give a smelling as about "Susy", Calcio Italia or any other media reports. I just can't wipe this smile off my face when I picture Totti and co. watching the match last night! His thumbs weren't pointing us down, they were in his mouth....and not in his shitty celebration way either.

You see, Lazio cannot win. We were the laughing stock of Italy when we took the derby seriously, witnessed a certain “thumbs-down” gesture and left the Olimpico with a whimper. Today, we are the laughing stock of Italy, yet again for putting on another wonderful show, this time of both hatred and passion; hatred for Rioma, passion for Inter. This was complimented with a professional performance from our boys on the field. We were weakened with key absentees, we needed to rest certain individuals with two pivotal games ahead of us and when Inter wrestled the initiative, we, like many others, could not muster the desire to take on one of the best in Europe and win through. Rioma fans have been calling us a Serie B side for weeks now; they finally got their wish and saw a Serie B display last night. We hope they are happy as we happily admit that we were professional, but poor. In the next two weeks, we will be turning it around.

And yet, we did not see the captain of our side make an inexplicable error that allowed his own team to fall behind and give the opposition the advantage in a game that had severe implications for the title race (hello, Steven Gerrard).

The fact we we wake up to find ourselves as being the modern disgrace of football tells you something about Italian culture. And in Italian culture, unraveling sarcastic banners and singing hilarious chants is perfectly acceptable. Susy Campanale would disagree with me, presumably because she is an unhappy Milanista and Rosella Sensi would disagree with me, presumably because her team chose to be at the centre of the storm they created. Actually, I take great satisfaction in the latter’s threat to launch an official protest. I have to say, I am finding it side-splittingly funny that she feels it would be detrimental to submit a small piece of paper on some suited man’s desk because it could affect Rioma’s performance in the Coppa Italia. Anybody else see the real “paradox” there? Sensi is acknowledging that media attention may negatively impact on a team’s performance. That would explain why we came out all guns blazing last night and destroyed Inter in the wake of all the media attention we have received in the past three weeks. What bull.

Instead, we saw the Curva Nord in good humour and using their notorious methodology to good effect. That is all. Those fans will be at Formello revving up our boys for Livorno and Udinese while the regulars of the Curva Sud point their middle finger at our “rolling over,” pinpointing it as the reason for their Scudetto failure. They will fail to realise that they “threw” their own opportunity away when they “rolled over” to Samp and they will also fail to realise that with two games left, there is still all to play for. But their fans won’t inspire that belief because, to quote Campanale, “they have proved themselves to be pathetic, small-time supporters whose only joy in life is wallowing in bitterness and dragging everyone else down to their level.”

The media prepared us about a storm coming in case we lose to Inter.

But this makes me even feel better: seeing roma, milan etc fans suffering like hell.

Blog: Shame on Lazio

Lazio have embarrassed themselves, the sport and now Susy Campanale really hopes they get relegated

Sunday night’s game at the Olimpico – although frankly I hesitate to call this training exercise a game – was the most embarrassing display seen since the infamous 80-minute kick-about between Germany and Austria in the 1982 World Cup. Just as we’re trying to get past the Calciopoli scandal, a performance like this gets televised around the globe. It would've been nice to see the title race go down to the wire, but now we'll never know if Roma deserved it.

Lazio’s fans have suffered enough this season, so I can see why they’d ironically cheer Inter on in their bid to ruin the Scudetto dreams of arch rivals Roma. After all, they have proved themselves to be pathetic, small-time supporters whose only joy in life is wallowing in bitterness and dragging everyone else down to their level. Hard to think this club won the Coppa Italia last season and beat Inter to the Italian Super Cup in August, yet the crowd maintains the mindset of a provincial side. We expect nothing better of them.

The players, however, have absolutely no such excuse. You are professionals. Did it not burn you to lie down and let Inter trample all over you, not even trying to mount a comeback or even tackle for the ball past the centre-circle for the entire second half? Out of interest, when huffily denying you’d gladly lose to rain on Roma’s parade as the questions came in constantly for a week, did you already know you’d put in less than 10 per cent effort?

Really, I am curious whether this was a pre-meditated team decision to give up your dignity and the right to call yourselves professional football players, or if the surreal atmosphere of the Olimpico swayed it. How bizarre it must’ve been to play while your own supporters chanted: ‘If you win, we’ll beat you up’ and ‘Get out of the damn way.’

On the strength of this performance and on seeing how unlucky Atalanta were to be pegged back by Bologna, I have absolutely no qualms in saying I really, really, really hope Lazio get relegated. They don’t deserve to be in Serie A and it will be good riddance to their small-minded supporters. Send them to play their local derbies with Frosinone, at least then they'll be the 'big shots' in town

http://football-italia.net/blogs/sc111.html

fresh from the oven, what do you think guys?
this have lots of sense...
also i like to add that this is also disgrace for football and Serie A...
i think now that fans deserve a chairman like Lotito - he make them happy (almost last at the league table, no european competitions bravoo to Lotito forza Inter !!! and yeah Roma sucks - they r just at the top of the table, playing Champions League, Cup final - yeah we have lots of reasons to laugh and make jokes on their account....very very primitive and pathetic.

last Friday i was at the Macedonian 2nd League game: "11Oktomvri" Vs "Skendija", - my 2nd League town team "11ti" is at the middle of the table and with no chance for up or down but they make victory over "Skendija" which they r fighting for entering in 1st League.... my point of this is that players of team "11" where agressive running and full with spirit even they all take less money that one reserve Lazio player takes in a week - but they chose to play football because they think r football players...
now i read that the other team from my town - 1st League "Pobeda" is banned for 8 years from the Macedonian football federation because the UEFA before some time banned "Pobeda" for "probably fixing" UEFA game (i think in 2004) for 8years not playing in UEFA games...and the men who make this ban doesn't watch the game - he make judgement over some betting company which lose around 10mil eur...

anyway my point about this is: that we where thinking that in Serie A there is more sports rules and correct fair play games than in our League - but now i release that here in Macedonia we have more rules and fair play than in Serie A which i start to believe that all Italian League is about fixing games, and politics....
our team is ban for 8 years in european games and + 8 years in macedonian league games and the teams like: Juve,...Lazio, Milan... which where fixing games for much more 1000times more values of money - they get very small ban, taking points or none....

now ive been told from some friends(roma,milan...fans) that there is some petition and sending e-mails to UEFA,Italian League, football TV stations,... against Lazio..

this game was so so bad move for Lazio and Italian Football.

forgive me i say to those who will be offended , but as much as i didnt want Lazio to concede and yet to score , seeing thousands of fans cheering inter made me relax and i am really satisfied with the result, Football isn't always about winning and loving your club isn't about cheering it in order to win , but the result is all that matters and the achievement , i see we didn't get a decent result in both derbies and never succeeded to achieve something this season , but what worse is than getting humiliated in the middle of your field and mocking our ultra fans? two thumbs down ? Sacrifice To Get What You Want!! and if we didnt give away the result yesterday that would have been our worst season ever ! 15th or 16th place? and our direct enemies win the scudetto that will be a shameful memorable event ! so id rather loose this battle and later on win the war !!!

I think the correct question is What will Curva Nord do if Lazio get relegated? Will they attack our players for not playing with their heart? Will they blame Inter for humiliating us? Or will they feel sorry for what they have done back in Lazio vs Inter match?

Lazio needs our deepest support but it seems the so-called supporter did otherwise. No

They will support our Lazio like they always have done. If we get relegated (which we won't), it was not a consequence of one match (vs Inter) that we would have lost anyway, but because of a horrible season.

Even if I'd choose to lose this game, for all of us known reasons, I would never cheer for the goals that Inter scored against us! How could hate for Riomma be so much bigger than love for Lazio?
How can we expect some talent in the future to sign for us after this kind of things? Yes, its so good that merda wouldn't going to get the scudetto, but we'll get some much bigger pain that our mixed joy now...

Indeed, Lucky Strike. Jesus, some people act like if we would relegate, it's just because of the Inter-match. I'm wondering if the guys who are blaming the "so called supporters", would do it face to face to those guys. The Ultras who were supporting Inter are standing there maybe every week, the whole season, at home & away-games. Who do you think you are to say that they are not real fans?!

Amen to that, amigo. Some people are so naive.
Ramone, think twice next time before you decide who you call real, so-called fans.
Done and Zoran, if you don't understand what happened last night, don't write at all. This is not a perfect world. IF we get relegated, it's because we lost to freaking Catania, Bari etc, not because we lost to Inter, one of the best teams in Europe right now.

This sound so romanisti style.

I'm really impressed by all this morality lessons that journalists, politicians, people... everyone have been giving us. I am a free man and I do anything it's within the law whenever I want, wherever I want, how I want. It makes me laugh to read the "ashamed opinions" of corrupted politicians (bytheway, didn't see them react so promptly when Gabbo was killed); of ridiculous journalists that live of bullshit, speculations, used to make profit even from death, puritans with dirty hands; of people who don't even have a clue about what a football is, and the true meaning of Lazio-asroma rivalry.

and what will the summer be if we get relegated ?

I think the correct question is What will Curva Nord do if Lazio get relegated? Will they attack our players for not playing with their heart? Will they blame Inter for humiliating us? Or will they feel sorry for what they have done back in Lazio vs Inter match?

Lazio needs our deepest support but it seems the so-called supporter did otherwise. No

1) It was actually not "Curva Nord", but "Curva Nord and Distinti Ovest and Distinti Nord and Tevere and Curva Maestrelli and Monte Mario".

2) Those you refer as "so-called supporters"

(a) have followed in thousands the team away in difficult matches and gave full support at Olimpico, as things turned very bad, helping the team to accomplish the task to remain in Serie A (mission accomplished)

(b) have cheered for Inter, giving an hand to the nerazzurri with the ultimate goal of not seeing asroma fans celebrate a scudetto and making a shitty season turn into the worst possible nightmare

(c) have made pressure and are still making pressure to get rid of lotito, organizing several protests and collecting thousands of signatures to stop the new stadium speculation, the only target of lotito.

not enough for you? I wonder what's your concept of "proper supporter".

Haha, this can only happen in Italy, really. People shouldn't forget that, even if we had tried, what we did for 45 minutes, Inter would have won anyways. They are a far superior team. Instead all those lousy Giallorozzi whine and cry. If they like I know a cheap tissue-factory. To hell with them! :p

You're right. It's funny how this game suddenly gets all the attention. Liverpool are a better side then us but no one talks about them cheating against Chelsea even if Gerrard gave them the first goal.

I really couldn't care about the Merda fans whining. The neutral just support them this season cause everyone hates the same team winning every year.

Can anyone help me with this please. I am looking for the picture from an old Inter vs Lazio match where there is a banner with mr enrich and that dog shaking hands ( IRR and Boys I think )

Conn: I watched the game on tv and there were some booes when Muslera saved the shots. I really hope that the Lazio fans turn up for a training at formello and support him, he deserves it.

I am happy about the outcome of the match and I don't care if some non Laziale understand us or not. This is part of the Lazio culture, hating roma. It would be the same way if it was roma in that situation.ùù

The players know very well the reason of Lazio fans attitude on the stands, I don't think there is any need to go to Formello to cheer up the players... Livorno, if allowed, is where to go...

And the funniest thing is, the Romanisti are acting like we "gave" Inter the Scudetto, but they forget that they gave it away themselves by losing against Sampdoria. Wankers.
