This would be lovely. Lazio needs to scrimmage against better teams before the season, so I would LOVE to play LIverpool in a
friendly in 'pool.

Yes! We must face stonger rivals if we want to be prepared for next season. BUT we must have new players as soon as posible if we want to mix them. We canot expect results if we buy someone on August 31... But if Lotito continue to higgle, I dont know what to expect....

Biancocelesti Test

Benitez's troops face an early start against local rivals Tranmere, before jetting off to Europe. Already confirmed are friendly clashes against FC Lucerne, Wisla Krakow, Hertha Berlin, Villarreal, Rangers and Valarenga.

Not content with the schedule just yet, Parry also says Lazio are considering a trip to Merseyside, adding: "We are now close to finalising a prestigious home game against Lazio at Anfield on Friday, August 8. The visit of the Italians will be an attractive proposition for our supporters who will remember the Rome side coming here for a friendly in July 2002.

"[Ex-boss] Gerard Houllier used to quite like matches at this level as part of his preparation and Rafa sees the value in the build-up to our vital Champions League qualifier in August.

"We will take a lot of fans to Ibrox (home of Rangers), where I know we will get a great welcome."

Reds Fury

Parry finished by hailing those players who swapped Red for Roja at Euro 2008, winning Euro 2008 with Spain.

He continued: "[The potential Lazio tie] will also be the first opportunity on UK soil to salute our Spanish players after their tremendous success in the European Championship, not least matchwinner Fernando Torres. His world-class qualities were there for all to see against Germany.

"Fernando's winning goal [against Germany] in a well-deserved 1-0 victory was a classic piece of finishing. Liverpudlians know all about his pace, determination and skill. All of these qualities played a part in a superb strike that stunned his marker [Philip] Lahm.

"We all remember Kenny Dalglish's famous dink over the 'keeper in the 1978 European Cup final against Bruges. Spaniards everywhere will never forget the Torres equivalent as he clipped the ball into the back of the net over the advancing Jens Lehmann.

"Congratulations must also go out to Xabi Alonso, who came on as a substitute to play his part, and also squad members Pepe Reina and Alvaro Arbeloa who picked up medals as members of a talented Spanish group."

Gonna be a good test, the last few friendlies before the season starts are usually competitive mini tournaments these days.
Wasn`t the last game against Liverpool a pre season tourny??

Hey Guys,

Back on the forum with a new ID..Couldnt remember my old one from when the website was up and running..

Would anybody know how to get tickets for the Liverpool game. I am in the UK, but would prefer to be on the Lazio stands. When do they usually come up for sale, and where to buy them..

Cheers, C

Welcome back dude.

They are not for sale as of yet, im regularely checking up on the Liverpool website. They have said when they go on sale they will put details up, and i will try and post the info in this topic. I guess we could purchase tickets for the away stand from Liverpool also, after all, it is just a friendly. It's what i did when i went to the Southampton game last yr. In any case, i will let you know on here.

via Piazza della Libertà, the Rimini official site says they will be playing Lazio on July 23

http://www.riminicalcio.com/_vti_g1_nwArt.aspx?idnews=2557&offs=1&key=&rpstry=4_

does this mean that Slavia Prague backed out of the game that was already set for that day?
