Jersey presentation in Valmontone Outlet at the Lazio Style store Date: 12/07/2008
Not even 40 degrees can’t stop the Lazialità of more then 2000 supporters waiting to see their players getting dressed in the new 2007 \08 jersey. This brand new outfit was presentend in Valmontone, where the first official shop called “Lazio Style” opened its doors. A handful of players, who would be leaving for the summer camp in Auronzo di Cadore later on, arrived in the burning sun. In presence of the new goalkeeper Carrizo, the quick attacker Zarate, the experienced defender Siviglia, the solid midfielder Ousmane Dabo, the 3 new jerseys were presented. They all gathered with coach Delio Rossi for a press conference set up by Puma and Lazio.
The players tried their very best to distract the supporters thoughts from the incredible heat by some nice words. Infact bottles of water were spread by the police and some energetic volunteers. Due to the lack of organization that maybe didn’t expect this huge amount of people. All important Radio- and Tv-channels were present to make pictures of all the speeches and emotions. Only coach Delio Rossi was allowed to speak with the press, and we can say in a few words what he stated: “First of all, let’s talk less and do more. Second, from now on, let’s speak as ‘we’ instead of ‘I’.” In this strong statement of Delio rossi the spirit towards the future was made very clear. ready for departure to Auronzo di cadore for the summer camp.
To conclude, the shop looked fine and full of Lazio material and colorful jerseys and so made a good impression. In order to end with some more good news, at the same time with the store, finally the launch of the first Italian/English official e-commerce website, store.sslazio.it , was a fact.

Ledesma´s contract: Today or never
In the afternoon Lazio and Ledesma´s agent could find the agreement for the renewal of the Argentine player´s contract. Otherwise the negotiations breaks down. After the return from Valmontone (the jersey presentation), Claudio Lotito will be in Formello to meet Vincenzo D´Ippolito, Ledesma´s agent, to definitively close the contract talks. Ledesma wants to take part in the trainingcamp with the renewal in the pocket, without having to think of anything but the season that surely will be demanding. In the evening we wish that the much awaited announcement will arrive

Pandev absent in Valmontone: No alarm
After the publication of the interview to the Macedonian daily "Vest" and the absence from the presentation of the new official jersey, the big alarm surrounding Goran Pandev was released. "In 2009 I move on" these are the words that have released a dangerous alchemy on the day of the departure to Auronzo di Cadore.
Everybody calm down: The alarm was false it has been revealed. Pandev is in Formello together with the other teammates and the absence from the presentation of the jersey in Valmontone is connected only to an organizational problem. The Macedonian is calm: With a relaxed smile he has left the understanding that those declaration should not put any fear with the fans: Pandev wants to remain in Rome and with Lazio.
About the interest of the Germans from Bayers Munich everything has already been said. The Bayern club had put a 20 million offer on the table for the player, which has already been rejected some time ago by the biancocelester number one. The germans are waiting and they do not move one meter, looking forward to understand Lotito´s next move. Lotito doesn´t want to repeat the same mistake as what has happened with Valon Behrami. Either he renews the contract or sells him for big money

Ledesma´s agent: "It´s 99,9 % he moves on"
The day of the gathering for the trainingcamp was the last deadline within which Cristian Ledesma was at disposal to negotiate for the renewal of his contract (with adjustment as Rocchi) with the biancoceleste club. This has not happened, because President Lotito has skid the appointment with the agent of the player (he listened only by telephone) and therefore the Argentine midfielder seems to have taken the decision to change the environment next year, when he can take advantage of the article 17 of the FIFA regulation (like his ex teammate Behrami has already done). "It´s 99,9% sure" said the Argentine´s agent, "...that next year he will move". Ledesma has a contract until 2011 and in 2009 expires the protection period of his contract, a five year deal which had been drawn up when the player was 23 years old.

Zauri, Mutarelli and Inzaghi: No Trainingcamp
A group that has been narrowed down. Not by choice, but rather from a "slash". That is realiity for ten of Lazio´s players, who today did not go for the trainingcamp in Auronzo di Cadore and who, from monday will be trained in Formello, far away from the eyes of Mister Delio Rossi. Among them are also by now the ex captain Luciano Zauri, Massimo Mutarelli, Guglielmo Stendardo, Roberto Baronio, and the striker Simone Inzaghi. Five players who have ended up on Rossi´s "black list" and will have to try and search for a new job far away from the capital. Completing the picture of the "outsiders" are the goalkeepers Berni and Santarelli, the young defender Artipoli, the midfielders Quadri and Correa

Ledesma´s agent: He stays at Lazio
"Ledesma doesn´t move away from Lazio". This has been said by Vincenzo D´Ippolito, agent of the player, interviewed today to the microphones of "Siamo Tutti Ct" in Radio Kiss Kiss. "Ledesma is not necessarily moving on, he is not leaving Lazio. The boy is calm and is already concentrated on doing his best in the next season with the right motivation. His primary thoughts are not at all the contract, which remains unchanged, but only on running off to the next season on level with his competitors".

Date, 15th July, 2008 Libor Kozak in European Under 19 Championship
Today the final phase of the European Under 19 Championship started in Czech Republic. There are no Laziali in the Italian team, in which you'll find different names like the milanista Paloschi, the Italian-Argentinian Forestieri and Okaka. Mario Balotelli is missing as he does not yet have an Italian passport (despite living in Italy all his life). His place is taken by Fabio Zamblera from Newcastle.
The only Laziale in the tournament is recently signed Libor Kozak that will guide the Czech Republic's attack. His national team already won the opening game against England with 2-0 (even if Kozak was left on the bench). Czech Republic and England figure in the same group as Rocca's Italy, who tied their opening game, 1-1, against Greece thanks to Paloschi scoring a last minute penalty. ________

Zauri's agent: "Lotito must respect the rules"
The marriage between Luciano Zauri and Lazio is turning to the end, and the player has now written a letter to the club, asking to be re-admitted in the group until he finally signs for another club. Tullio Tinti, Zauri's agent, explained the situation in the radio show "Noi Biancocelesti", on air on Nuova Spazio Radio. Tinti said: “Nothing in particular happened between Zauri and Lazio. This is how things work. It's possible that, suddenly, the strategies change. The club is no more interested in the player, and we have acknowledged it without any problem. I don't know about any problem, other than the club's needs. Regardless the technical decisions, however, a club cannot stop any player from training. There is a rule and the players who have not been admitted to the training camp ask the club to respect it; they want to train with the other players, in order to be ready when a new club will come up. Lotito has always spoken about rules, now it's time for him to respect the rules too. Both Zauri and Inzaghi's future is away from Rome, unfortunately. Now we are looking around to find them another club". Tinti also spoke about Rolando Bianchi and Nicola Amoruso: "When he arrived in Rome, Bianchi was promised a contract with Lazio at the end of the loan. Clearly, in order to take hold of some players some times people lie. We did count on this promise. Next time we will not trust... Amoruso? The two clubs had reached an agreement, but we could not reach a deal on the player's pay"

Grigioni stunned by Carrizo
Adalberto Grigioni, the Lazio goalkeepers manager, was enthusiastic about Carrizo after the first training session with the Argentinean goalkeeper: "Carrizo is very powerful and very fast; despite him being not used to the European kind of training, he has already showed great commitment thanks to his characteristic dedication to the work". About his assimilation of the Lazio's defensive schemes, Grigioni has no doubt about the success: "With a three players defense, the goalkeeper has only to follow one defender, but the rest remains unchanged for him". Concerning, on the other hand, the well known exploits of Carrizo, Grigioni reassured the fans: "I've already told Carrizo that in Italy it's better not to risk in such ways". Grigioni also pointed at the improvements made by Muslera, and the great potential of Degré: "Fernando understood what's needed in Italian football; after having worked a lot on technical issues, he is now mature. Keep an eye on Degré too, because he has a lot of potential". Finally, Grigioni talked about Berni: "The club and Rossi have made precise choices. For his own sake, and given his qualities, I hope he can find a club where he can play with continuity".

Amnesty International with Gabriele Sandri's family against the lack of information
While waiting for the start of the trial, which should begin in September, and in a moment where Italians seem to have forgotten what had happened eight months ago, Amnesty International has included the facts connected to the death of Gabriele among the cases under control in Italy, involving the respect of the human rights. "The 11 November 2007, Gabriele Sandri, a 26 years old guy, was killed by a bulled shot by a policeman. When he was hit, Gabriele was in a car with some friends, leaving a service station; they were heading to Milan to follow the Lazio match against Inter. On the case, enquiries are being undertaken." This is the sentence published on the official website of the International organisation.

"Dear Lazio, I'll miss you"
After three seasons in Rome, Gabi Mudingayi leaves Lazio for Bologna. The operation will be closed at around five millions euro (it's likely that this amount will include the second half of Meghni too). In an exclusive interview to Lazialita.it, Mudingayi talks about his last day as Laziale, and thanks all the biancocelesti fans: "They have always supported me".
I: You seem very sad. "I'm very sad - he says - I felt Laziale deep inside me, and I thought I could stay here until the end of my career. The thought of leaving Rome, my teammates and the fans makes me very sad".
I: When did you find out about the attention from Bologna? "A few days ago my agent told me about that, but I thought it was just a rumour. I didn't think it was serious".
I: Then what happened? "Yesterday I talked to Lotito and he confirmed the will of the club to bring the negotiations forward. Moreover, he told me that Lazio could not guarantee me with a spot in the starting eleven. Anyway, I want to stress the fact that I never asked for a spot in the starting eleven. I only complained about the treatment that I was given at the end of the past season. Afterwards, I started the preseason training sure to be able to play my cards, but it won't be like that now".
I: This summer you could end your contract with Lazio by exploiting the article 17, but you didn't do it. "A form of respect towards Lazio. When I arrived I was welcomed in a great way from everyone. The fans always sided with me. I had been told about many bad things about the Lazio fans, but it was all false. They were always very nice to me and I will never forget their chants in the stadium".
I: You've started this season with Lazio. What's your opinion on the newcomers? "Carrizo is very strong and confident. Zarate has great skills. I'm sorry to leave because I'm sure Lazio will do very well this season"
I: Did you have the chance to talk to Rossi? "We saluted each other on the first day; in the last days we only talked about tactics. I was waiting for a few days to meet up and clarify what had happened in June between the two of us"
I: A new adventure for you is about to start. "I'm happy about the interest from Bologna. I wanted to stay at Lazio, but then I understood the situation: on the one hand there was a club that wanted to sell me; on the other, a club that wanted me. So, i decided to leave."

Lazio: Tuia, Kozak and the other youngsters
Generation 1989 and 1990. The road to succes goes through Alessandro Tuia, central defender with his future already assured. He turned 18 in June, has a five year contract in order to keep him at the club, a stamp as the future Nesta, which makes him one to look out for and he had a brutal injury to his shoulder. He is taking part in his second consecutive trainingcamp with the first team and he has Delio Rossi´s faith. Tuia is the leader of Lazio´s new growing baby-group. They are players in all positions. A goalkeeper like Degrè, a central midfielder like Cinelli, a right back like Faraoni, a fast attacker like Mendicino and a tall strong striker like the Czeck Kozak, the latest acquisition who will soon join the group.
Tuia - ahead of the others. In him the coach foresee a natural talent and a real character. He is considered the alternative to Rozehnal in this first fase of the trainingcamp. He is a central defender and represents the future Lazio defence. He is being inserted gradually in the team and this season he could be called up quite often. In Auronzo di Cadore he has fans only for him. There are a few members from his family, who follow him closely, there is his mum, who encourages him and there are a few friends, who have come from Civitacastellana (Viterbo). They have put up the only banner attached to the net around the pitch and that banner has his name on it: "Forza Alex", it says in huge letters. Tuia works well, knowing that he has to stay humble. But he also knows that the club counts on him and that this gives him a responsibility.
Mendicino - he was put on last Saturday in the second trainingmatch of the preseason: Two goals like Pandev, fast moves and runs, just like he showed a great technique. Ettore Mendicino did well and showed what he is made of. He still has to grow, compared to Tuia, but he is living the call up to the first team and has done that with maximum professionalism.
Faraoni - he is in the National Team of his age group and is playing as a right back. He dreams of taking the same road as De Silvestri has done. In the meantime he runs chilometres on the pitch and never gives up in training. Marco Davide Faraoni is practically born with Lazio. He can also play as a central defender, but he loves to show himself on the flank. Among his greatest qualities is his speed.
Degrè - he is the third keeper in Lazio, and the first keeper in the Primavera team. He trains together with Carrizo and Muslera. He is considered one of the most promising keepers in France. Degré closely follows the instruction of the goalkeeper coach Grigioni and since one week he is learning from the talented J.P Carrizo.
Cinelli - If you look carefully, he looks a lot like Zaratè. Their faces are similar, but Cinelli is a central midfielder and has been called to the trainingcamp 2008/09 by Delio Rossi. He is always waiting for a call to the National Team of his age group. It´s one of his dreams this season.
Kozak - he will soon become a member of the group. He is the surprise purchase, the youngster in whom the club have decided to invest. Libor Kozak is going to live his first Italian experience. He is very young, but is considered a very talented attacker. Rossi will find out during the Under 19 European Championship. With the Czeck Republic he is called as one of the protagonists.

Digos Police Chief: “Irriducibili did not know about where the money came”
The story involving the Chinaglia’s attempt to take over Lazio, which had already led to the several arrests in the past (including the four Irriducibili leaders) has seen today important developments. The Rome’s tribunal judges have emitted a custody determination for ten people; among them, there are Giorgio Chinaglia and his spokeman Giuseppe Bellantonio. Chinaglia, however, has not been taken into jail, since he is still in USA.
After the previous 2006 investigation by the Digos police, the judges had charged several people for financial manipulation. While that trial is still ongoing, further investigations have led to today’s determination, with the more serious charge of money laundering. The enquiry showed that a crucial role was played by Giuseppe Diana, the boss of a gas company and linked to the Naples underworld Casalesi clan. He had already attemped twice to sponsor Lazio in order to launder the Casalesi’s money. Before turning their eyes to Lazio, the Casalesi had already tried to take over some football club in the past, however without success.
“At the moment there is no evidence – said the Digos Chief Lamberto Giannini – that the fans knew about where the money came from. In any case, the Camorra attempt to take over a football club is something new, an important move from the organized crime”

Lazio take over: 10 arrested, Chinaglia involved
This is the outcome of the investigations made by GdF (Guardia di Finanza) in Operation Broken Wings"
Seven arrests, three escaped and the disappearance of two million Euro, part of the money that the Casalesi clan would have "invested" for the buy out of the club S.S Lazio. This is the outcome of "Operation Broken Wings", made by Guardia di Finanza and the Digos of Rome, and which was illustrated during a press conference. The objective of the strong clan of Casal di Principe was to enter the World of football, and the fine establishment of the Italian Serie A. To achieve this, the Casalesi had put up a mechanism working on two levels and which involved also professionals. From one side, the Camorra from the Casertana area recycled money coming from illegal activities in order to buy out the capital club, from another side involving charismatic club figures, like Giorgio Chinaglia, to "prepare the scene for the new mythical buyers". An active role also for the Irriducibili, Ultras of the biancoceleste, who several times in the course of 2005 had put up massive protests against President Lotito´s management of the club, also using threats and attempts of extortion, which is currently in course the process of first degree.
During the press conference, the responsible from the Digos of Rome, Lamberto Giannini has underlined an important aspect of the incident: "At the moment there is no evidence - he said - that the Lazio supporters were aware of the origin of this money. Anyway we're facing something new, an important attempt aimed at buying a football club with money coming from organized crime"

Traningmatch: Lazio-Rimini 2-4
The third trainingmatch of the summer and the first real test for Lazio, who played against the Serie B side from Rimini. It didn´t turn out well for Lazio who lost the game 2-4 after having found themselves behinf 0-3 at half time. The new signing Lichtsteiner started the game and left a good impression in the offense, although he suffered defensively. Overall, the problems in the defence were evident, where Siviglia and especially Cribari (terrible mistake leading to Rimini´s third goal) never looked safe. Now Lazio is looking towards the next trainingmatch against Padova, in order to bring some morale back to the team.

Long tactical session to “learn” the 3-4-2-1
The day after the defeat against Rimini has been dedicated to tactical issues concerning the defense, put under big pressure by the Rimini’s attack, and the quasi-trident, fuelled by Ledesma’s passes and Matuzalem’s intuitions.
Concerning the defense, mister Rossi instructed the three central backs and the two midfield wings. With Kolarow away, his spot has been taken by Manfredini and Belleri who, exactly like Lichtsteiner and Faraoni, have been largely thought about the defensive mechanisms in the three players defense.
Afterwards, with the defenders working on circuit training, the tactical session involved the midfielders and the forwards. Instead than the 3-5-2 proved in the past days, with Ledesma behind the two internal midfielders, Rossi has proved the 3-4-2-1, with Ledesma and Matuzalem in the middle, Pandev and Foggia ready to move to the Zarate’s line, to form a 3-4-3.
Finally, the match “youngsters” vs “oldies”, with the latest defeated 3-0 thanks to the goal from Zarate and the two scored by Mendicino. Firmani kept working separately, while Mauri joined his teammates in the training session, without however stressing too much his knee.

Delio Rossi: “I consider Cagliari-Lazio a big match already”
Delio Rossi has only a date in his mind: 30 August. After a disappointing season, the manager from Rimini really wants a comeback. About the Serie A fixtures draw, he said: “Sooner or later we have to face all the teams. To me, Cagliari looks like Inter of Juventus, it’s important to play with the right approach to the match”. If the first fixture does not seem the most prohibitive, the last one certainly is, with Juventus away: “Should we need to reach our target on their pitch, it would be tough for sure, but it would be tough for them too” The afternoon session offered several enjoyable moments, thanks to the jokes made by the historical Ultras group CML 74. After a raid throwing water, they sang many chants for the players, and for Tare too. The new Lazio managing staff bought a drink to everyone to celebrate his birthday.
On the pitch, the squad was divided into four teams that kept switching between the pitch and the weights session. Some brilliant plays from Matuzalem, already accustomed to Lazio, and looking inspired. The final match has seen the contemporary presence of Foggia, Pandev and Zarate. There is the good chance to see this trident at work tomorrow, in the friendly against Padova – a first division team guided by Carlo Sabatini, brother to the former Lazio general director.
