Report: Arsenal Revive Interest In Lazio Star Goran Pandev The Gunners are set to make an offer for the want-away Macedonian striker, whom they reportedly wish to replace Emmanuel Adebayor...
According to reports in today’s edition of Rome-based daily Corriere dello Sport, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is poised to launch a fresh bid for Lazio hitman Goran Pandev.
The 25-year-old’s current deal with the Eternal City club runs out next year and he has refused the terms of an extension, handing in a transfer request.
Lazio chief Claudio Lotito has made his peace with the player’s decision but has slapped a hefty €19 million price tag on his head, scaring off most of his suitors.
Offers from Napoli and Russian outfit Zenit St. Petersburg have reportedly been rejected in recent weeks, but it is now suggested Premier League giants Arsenal are ready to step in.
The London side are set to part with Togolese international forward Emmanuel Adebayor, who is expected to join Manchester City, and Wenger could reignite his interest in the former Inter man.
Pandev has reportedly been on the French tactician’s radar since 2006, and press reports suggested last month Arsenal were prepared to lodge a formal bid for his services.
However, Lotito yesterday insisted that no offers have come in for the striker so far.

| As long as we don't make one of our direct rivals stronger (Palermo, Napoli, Genoa) he can go anywhere. Just want the deal done soon so we can replace him. | |

| I don't see the reason why we should leave him in Rome while we playin Inter in Beijing. He is in a very good condition, he trains well, and he eagers to play. We are talking SuperCoppa in here, we could win another silverware after Coppa Italia last season. and with the departure of Ibrahimovic, I do believe we stand a chances of beating Inter this time around. | |

With regards to Pandev - he should play in the Super Coppa Final against Inter. Although I am annoyed at the comments he made about wanting to leave Lazio, he is in great pre-season form and deserves to play in the final. He has achieved a lot at the club and I still respect him as a player.

The 25-year-old had asked President Claudio Lotito for a move, despite being tied to the Aquile until June 2010, and the outspoken chief had threatened to “nail him to the stands” for the entire season, also hinting the player was unlikely to travel to Beijing next month to face Scudetto holders Inter in the Italian Super Cup. “I am serene and ready to play great matches in a Lazio shirt,” the Corriere dello Sport quotes Pandev as having said in Auronzo di Cadore, where the Biancocelesti are preparing for the new campaign. “I am on form and hope to play against Inter in Beijing and help the team claim the Italian Super Cup. “If anything, commitment and dedication towards my team-mates, the coach, the club and the Biancocelesti fans will be even greater than in the past, in the hopes of achieving great results,” he continued. Pandev has been heavily linked with Napoli in recent weeks, with the Vesuviani allegedly prepared to meet Lotito’s demands by offering cash plus the services of midfielder Mariano Bogliacino. p.s. in this morning tv news there was some interesting information about Goran cuz' his birthday... in his first official game at the age of 16-17 he got red card ...and besides his football talent he was very temperament and determinate and that was positive thing for the Inter scouts... also the newest information about his transfer is that his agent got contract offer(4 x 2.5mil/per year + bonus) from Lyon...and now its just between Lotito and Lyon to have agreement about the transfer offer...

| Inter To Sign Lazio Striker Goran Pandev On A Bosman In 2010 - ReportThe Italian champions are keen to sign Pandev, but it will not be until next year, when he is available for free... Inter are ready to reserve Lazio striker Goran Pandev and sign him on a free transfer at the end of the season, according to Il Corriere Dello Sport. The report suggests Jose Mourinho is keen on the Aquilotti ace and Pandev has made no secret that he intends to leave the Eternal City club. Indeed, he was left out of the Supercoppa Italiana squad to face Inter on Saturday in Beijing. Pandev's future is looking increasingly as if it is away from the Italian capital. He has been linked with a number of clubs, but none of them have been willing to match his €19 million price tag. It is said Inter will wait until 2010 and then land him for free. The Macedonian's contract expires next June, and Lazio have not made an attempt to renew it. Any chance of an extension is now looking slim as Claudio Lotito, the club president, has previously warned dissident players they would be punished, and the Supercoppa snub seems to have that ball and chain wrapped around the player's feet. Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri's move for Real Madrid star Wesley Sneijder has taken a blow after Merengues director Jorge Valdano suggested they would be keeping him. "We are not obliged to sell Sneijder," Valdano told the Spanish media. Salvatore Landolina, Goal.com Link: http://goal.com/en/news/11/transfer-zone/2009/08/04/1421063/inter-to-sign-lazio-striker-goran-pandev-on-a-bosman-in-2010This is a massive punch in our guts if its true. Dont know whether to blame Goran, because he said he would never leave for free. Or whether to blame El Presidente who could've kept him with a pay rise, or sold him for his real market considering he had only 1 year left on his deal. No one was ever going to pay 19mil. And with El Presidentes godfather like threats and standover tactics of late, all its achieved is to leave us with our thumbs in our mouths. I'm furious, upset, enraged & shattered | |

| Goran was offered a pay rise and a new contract, 18 months before his current one expires. OK Lotito could've handled it better but Goran and his agent have taken the cake in terms of poor management of the situation.
I truly hope that if Lotito can't sell him, he freezes him out of the squad.
We gave Goran the chance to become a star, we launched him onto the European scene.
When he wanted a new challenge, everyone was happy to let him go to further his career. Now he's burnt his ties with the club and is doing major damage to our mercato and squad preparation plus threatening legal action??
F*** off Goran Pandev.

No one is bigger than Lazio. I dont agree, IMO, albeit i may get shot down for it. Lotito made all three (leds, lds & gp) into a "rebelious" group, his comments were out of line & used to bring absolute disrepute to the three players. Players all over the world hand in transfer requests every year, its rare that they are humiliated as publicly as these three were. To add to this, he slapped on ridiculous price tags for them considering how near their contracts were to finalisation. i think its just been a bullying tactic by lotito in the hope he could pressure them into re-signing or trying to force the hands of potential buyers. His tactic has backfired. & put the clubs mercato in jeopardy. However, you are 100% right in saying that "No one is bigger than Lazio"... Just remember, that goes for Lotito too.
