"Disappeared" Lazio players

he only played for one season, was then loaned to Barcelona and Middlesborough.

actually, he's been at Middlesborough for the last 5 years although he's barely played. he has recently been released by the club although it was thought that he would retire, but Mendieta has apparently stated that he's happy in the area and would like to sign for a club that is local to that area.

in case anyone cares, mea vitali plays for union atletico maracaibo in venezuela and is a regular starter for the venezuelan national side, i think he could have done well given the chance.

Well some people just don't let you forget about Sereni I think I was just a few more months away from the state of mind that the name Sereni does not ring a bell,what a bliss that would be

it really hurts but Sereni was very, very good this season with Torino

I think in recent years, only De Silvestri has really come up through the ranks.

here's a few more names:

Giovanni Orfei - currently at Hellas Verona, young prospect, never played for us as far as I know
Djair - Brazilian youngster, joined Lazio around 15 years ago, been all round Brazil ever since, not sure if he ever played for us
Francesco Mancini - played a few games for us, then went to Bari for a few years, been swapping clubs ever since
Emanuele Pesaresi - played a couple of games for us, now playing for Triestina

that's just a few that I remember seeing at other sides and not so much for Lazio.

There is someone with this name who is listed in the Primavera squad now on sslazio.it.

That was a great goal by Mea Vitali against Boca. I wanted to see him given a real chance at Lazio but unfortunately the guy never got it which was a shame. I read somewhere he has been a Venezuelan international for several years now - since he was very young. Also I wanted Chiesa like some of you, to also be given a better chance. I liked that guy and I think he could have done better had he been given a real chance and better match time.

I always liked Sereni and thought he was under rated but when he was whining at Lazio a season or 2 ago I was glad to see him go to Torino. However he did have a very good solid season with the Granata in 2007/08 and perhaps if he was at Lazio he would have been very useful. Btw was he sold or just loaned out??

His conract ran out so he left as a free agent .. signed for Torino for free

Stabaek comes from Norway, not Denmark.

Mea Vitali was not that bad. A skillful, solid midfielder and also a nt player for Venezuela.

Talamonti played quite good games for us even scored against Inter. He is at the Orobici nowadays.

Keller was so poor that he did not even deserve warm shower after the matches.

I agree with you, Talamonti and Mea had some talent, but Keller was horrible.

I guess you're right.

Keller was incredibly hyped, he was part of this youth and flair scheme Lotito set about. He had both, he just lacked the ability to kick a ball.

We were warned by a Dansk at the time not to expect much!!!

Even if im norwegian I dont follow norwegian football so much. But Keller usually play for Stabæk who is currently 1. in the league, so even if you cant compare norwegian football to serie-a he isnt doing so bad now.
