| If the figures in that article are correct and we need only spend 5.5m Euro for 50% then it's a complete no brainer. Even the 8m on top of that should be a no brainer because his value has gone up alot since the start of the season. | |

| IMO Lotito is waiting to see if we'd go to Europe next year so he can provide the money for Zarate ( I'm assuming he doesn't have it or he has it but doesn't want to spend them if we don't qualify) | |

WOW you hit it. i know he is delaying because of money issues. So will it be your clue, which is very logical or he trying to sell someone to get the money. In either cases the money is the problem.

Agreed, although Lotito has said today that a meeting has been arranged with the Qatar club and agents now, but to be honest who believes a word of it as he was saying things like this months ago.

It still wouldn't make sense though, as I've stated many times Lotito is a businessman so if money was the issue he would surely find it somewhere and sign him only to sell him straight away for a big profit. This is the very least I expect from him.

| Lotito really likes to play with the nerves of the fans. the article on goal.com says that he really only needs to pay 5,5 mill$ now and the rest later. It really can't be about money, maybe the negotiations with the Arabs are going slow or Maurito and his agent have some issues that need to be settled in the contract...
Honestly, we should tie him for no less than 3-4 years. Anything less would be a disaster. And ffs give the boy a decent pay, his derby goal alone is worth at least 1mill €.

This is the reason for why I asked about the date of the Coppa finale on the previous page. He has said he will sort out the deal the 15 May, two days after the Coppa game. By then, latest, he will know if we are in Europe next year..or not...

| Can someone explan to me Zarate's situation? I was under the impression that we have an option to buy a percentage of his contract for a fixed fee this year, and the other half next year. If it's a fixed fee, why are people talking about "negotiations" with the club over the price? Recent articles state that his price has gown up due to his recent good form... again, that doesn't make sense to me if the fee is fixed... is it? | |

| - Quote :
- Lazio chief Claudio Lotito has flown to Qatar to try and negotiate the permanent signature of Mauro Zarate.
The Argentine ace arrived on loan from Al Sadd last summer and has been one of the revelations of the season.
Zarate fired Lazio past Juventus and into the Coppa Italia Final last night and Biancocelesti supremo Lotito has been spurred into action for a permanent deal.
“I am off to Qatar,” Lotito declared on Radio Radio this morning. “I want to bring back a result just as my team did yesterday.”
“Now there are lots of offers on the table for Zarate after his brilliant season in Italy,” a statement from Al Sadd reads.
“But after the agreement with Lazio last summer prior to his loan, they will have first refusal for a transfer.
“However, Zarate's qualities will allow the club to ask for a high price for his services.”
Lazio may have to pay more than £10m for Zarate and there are reports that Liverpool are waiting to pounce should Lotito fail to seal the deal.
channel4 what´s this? I thought that after Zarate´s loan, Lotito have to pay Zarate for an exact price. It was always said, that Lotito have to pay an exact price which was agreed last year. How can get this price higher if it was made as fix price last year?! What is when Al Saad want 30-40 millions? Can they do that? I don´t think so, but what is meant by "the club ask for a high price for his service"?

| don't believe it mate.... if the figures that were published in the press when we got Zarate are correct we should be able to get Mauro for already negotiated sum of money and al-sadd should not have the right to increase that amount | |

| Guys, I visited the website of Al Sadd to read the news claimed by goal.com that it was from Al Sadd Official Website and it says that they have the right to raise the price of the player, actually the article in English on Al Sadd Website claims that so Goal.com reported correctly from Al Sadd Official Website. This is the English News of Al-Sadd: http://www.al-saddclub.com/output/newspage.aspx?pageID=2695 - Al Sadd Official Website wrote:
- After the shining of Zarate in the Italian league this season his value raised in the European market. Now there are many offers on the table for Zarate. In addition to the offers there was the agreement concluded the last summer between Al-Sadd club and Lazio, which gives Lazio the priority in buying Zarate. Because of these offers and escalating price of Zarate and the wish of many clubs to join him, it is expected that Claudio Lotito visits Doha nearly to negotiate the status of the player with the management of Al-Sadd Club and convey the wish of Lazio to purchase him. It worth to mention that the excellence of Zarate gives the club the right to demand high price for selling him
Now I got suspicious because the English of the News is not that proper, so I read the Arabic version (being a Lebanese, Arabic is my mother tongue), and I need to tell you that the English version is not a very accurate translation of the Arabic news which is naturally the original news since Al Sadd is an Arab club. I will do a better translation of the news: http://www.al-saddclub.com/output/newspage.aspx?pageID=2696 - Al Sadd Official Website wrote:

Translation: The demand for Lazio's and Argentina star Zarate has increased in Europe after the player excelled this season in Serie A. There are many mouth watering offers for the player from many big clubs in Europe, and not only big clubs, but clubs which won the CL at some point of time. However since we do not have the right to announce the names of those clubs, we will not. In addition to those offers, there is the agreement between Lazio and Al Sadd which was drafted last summer and which gives Lazio the priority in getting the player's signature. With those various offers available and the increase of the value/price of Zarate and the will of many clubs to purhcase him, it is expected that Mr. Lotito, Lazio President, who is under pressure to sign the player, will arrive to Doha in the coming days to directly negotiate with Al Sadd Administration to settle the future of Zarate. The excellent skills of Zarate displayed this season has raised the value/price of the player, a value deemed much more than that which was agreed Last summer, and this gives the right to the club to raise the price of the player in case one of the European clubs really wanted to sign him.As you can see, the article does not really specify whether Lazio is counted amongst those European clubs or not due to the fact that lazio have a separate agreement, the article is hinting that the value of Zarate is more than which was agreed last summer which is granted, but it does not specifically mention that lazio will have to pay more, such an important point would have been mentioned explicitly and not left vague. The way I understand it, is that it gives the moral right to Al Sadd to raise the price of the player in case other clubs wanted to buy him, not Lazio. Anyways I think its stupid to think that they have the right to raise his price, usually these clauses are agreed before hand.
