| It is great news indeed, but let's not forget it has only come to this since he never got the dream offer he expected. If he does his talking on the pitch for next season he can erase those bad thoughts. | |

| He needs to sign a contract if he wants to stay... On another note, why does Goal.com keep releasing statements claiming that Roma are going to sign Cruz? Anyone knows if these are pure speculations to add a little drama to the mercato or if its actually truthful? | |

From what I gather, Cruz was willing to wait until we sold Pandev and then join us but now that Goran looks set to stay, the media are not too sure where he will go and have taken a gamble on Roma. Either way, we are out of the running for the timebeing, probably for good.

Either way, we are out of the running for the timebeing, probably for good. I don't understand why we need to sell Pandev to sign Cruz. Either way, we should sign a player like him, because we don't have a striker with his qualities. Since we're so focussed on off loading players first, we have the likes of Inzaghi and Makinwa to make room for Cruz. Cruz is NOT a replacement for Pandev, he's an addition to the squad to add another dimension... if we want to replace Pandev, it has to be someone who's at least not nearing retirement.

| Cruz would be a replacement for Pandev. Different players, yes, but we're looking for someone to partner Zarate and Cruz fits the bill until Mendicino or Kozak are developed enough. Cruz covers a lot of potential squad flaws. | |

| Gallas got in a strop and left Chelsea because they wouldn’t give him more money on his £80 thousand a week. I can’t see him coming here… I think he’s more the type that will want one more big pay off and play for PSG who will offer him more money than he’s worth. | |

That's good, he can go there, because Diakité will become much better than him given time enough to be our regular starter (look what D.B done to Kjaer in Palermo). Gallas is greedy and always you read about problems with him and his behaviour, besides he is too short and we need taller players that actually doesn't suck because we already have an army of dwarfs, even though they are much better than the tall ones (I mean Foggia can dribble away Rozenhal anytime) but still I believe we need physical strenght also. If you want to sign overpayed french granpas I would have considered Patrick Viera instead, but is too late. What happened with Miranda from Sao Paolo? Now that would be great signing for defence

| In my honest opinion, Gallas is probably one of the most talented defenders I have seen in my lifetime; unfortunately, he never truly lived up to his early promise and his attitude is a serious cause for concern.
However, should he ever move here, I would be delighted although I don't think we should go for him. If he was part of a Pandev swap deal then that is fine but otherwise, he's not woth the effort.

| gallas would never come to us. He makes too much as it is, and he would probably not agree on a super-pay-cutt to join us..
I am getting very worried guys. Out of all teams in Serie A I think we have been doing the worst during this summer, and time is passing with no progress. We are to play Inter in a few weeks, against a team that beat us last year and that has strengthened with Motta, Etoo and Milito (and have lost Ibra, but still..) I wonder how we will stand a chance.
I am not saying that we could ever out-muscle the larger teams in transfer budget, but looking at teams such as Napoli, Genoa and Palermo makes me wonder where we are trying to get this season...

| Gallas is very unlikely to join Lazio. His salary demands would be sky high and his attitude is frustrating - even though he is a good, strong, solid player.
Some recent news I have read.....
It looks as though Rozehnal will be leaving for Hamburg in a 5 million Euro deal. Negotiations with Lugano are on going and now that David is leaving, it will be a bit easier to sign Diego from Fenerbahce - although Ajax have also joined the race now.
Bojinov is continuously being linked to us which probably means its not just a rumour and may really be a realistic. Apparently he prefers joining Lazio over other interested clubs like Palermo, Genoa and Wolfsburg which is good for us.
Nothing about Cruz - however he has been given 3 days to either accept or deny Merda's 1 year contract offer.
Ousmane Dabo is interesting Portsmouth.

| I don't think it's too bad Cash to be honest. We already had a good squad last season, somehow it just didn't work but we have a new manager and a new system and the key to this mercato I feel is that we keep Ledesma and it look like we will. That in it's own way is like a major signing and the same would go for Pandev if he stays.
If you look at the team now we have a very very good first squad of players (defense maybe still a bit shaky) to build on this season. Ignoring the centre backs I don't think I would replace any of the other starters. As we are actually doing something the CB issue i'm not too worried about it and I'm sure we will sign someone. If we don't, Ballardini has been trying Radu and Diakite so at least we are evolving.
Palermo, Napoli and Genoa have made some nice signings because they had to. Genoa will not be anywhere near last season after selling Milito and Motta. Napoli and Palermo had disappointing seasons compared to their expectations so had to re-inforce. We had a poor league season despite having alot of the tools, we just didn't implement them correctly.
I think we need only a CB and maybe a striker and we will be all set for the next season. The key is getting rid of unwanted players.

I think we need only a CB and maybe a striker and we will be all set for the next season. The key is getting rid of unwanted players. Reasoning like that makes me optimistic. And I understand that the other teams needed to reinforce in order to keep up, but so do we. The teams that ended in and around the same spots as us last year have all brought in players, and I have a feeling that they are developing, while we are still trying to sort out what players in the current squad actually will be a part of Lazio in a month. My fear is that Ledesma and Pandev end up finding decent clubs sometime in August, leaving us with almost no time to cover two of the most influential players in recent years. In my mercato, Ledesma and/or Pandev staying would belike a new signing... No matter what happens to those two, I still think we need to get quite a few players out. And fill up with some more quality. I am not 100% sure I understand Ballardini's tactical choices, but I feel we need to strengthen the central defence, we would do verư good with a DM better than Brocchi/Dabo (I think both these guys are great to see when they fight on the field, but quality-wise we could do better) and we will need a central striker that could be a starter, or at least making the competition over the spots tougher, and give the team another dimension in play. I just feel we are a little to weak in some departments, and it is very frustrating to know we have plenty of players that occupy spots (and get money) without really being a fair contender for our starting XI.

| Roz could leave for Hamburg as early as today, or tomorrow. 5.5 mil euro is what we will get, if all involved agree on the deal.
Brescia is after Correa. But as much as he has been used during friendlies I feel there is a chance Ballardini sees some quality in him..?
Makinwa could be on his way out as well. Again, Malaga is rumoured to be the team he is going to, and this could also be finalized very soon.
City has asked 6.5 mil for Bojinov. I am sure that if there is even a chance we would get him, Lotito would negotiate a loan with option deal.
