The key for me is, if he sees Matuzalem as a trequartista, there is no real reason why he would abandon the 4-2-3-1. If Ballardini believes Matuzalem can work as a trequartista then I don;t understand why he would abandon the 4-2-3-1 for this game.

Nice line up, but the problem is, I am not really convinced about Baronio, and the idea of having all Zarate, Rocchi, Foggia and Cruz from the very 1st minutes, is very risky, I would rather have one of two on the bench just in case if one gets injured.

Here's my pick to start against Mighty Inter,

12 man line-ups...it's the future!!!

I can't believe, that about half of every line up so far involves 12 men rather thatn the conventional 11 but I do understand why.

People are trying to work out how Zarate, Rocchi, Cruz, Foggia, Eliseu and Matuzalem can be fitted into midfield and attack while keeping the defence covered. The truth is, that can't happen. But it appears to be what everyone wants.

Narrowing our selection down to eleven men is tough...but it proves our attacking options are quality, regardless of our defence...

edit: that's not aimed at frederick as I originally saw a trequartista. i think my eyes are deceiving me!!!

I would start Rocchi ahead of Cruz because Tommaso knows the team better than Julio does and can help settle the team down from the beginning of the match. In central defense I'd opt for Siviglia over Cribari only because last season Sebastiano played more alongside Diakite, than did Cribari. Hopefully Diakite can use his physical presence to keep Eto'o and Milito at bay. Matuzalem in between Brocchi and Dabo gives him space to create and also help defend. Sometime in the second half throw in players like Cruz and Eliseu, and maybe a Mauri or Meghni. Perhaps the lineup is too defensive but against Inter it is essential to be more cautious and bring more bodies back to defend. Hopefully Foggia and Zarate can run at their defense and cause problems, as can Rocchi.

Whoever plays as long as they give 110% I will be satisfied and proud. Hope for a good final. FORZA LAZIO!!!!!

I prefer the team that Bobbi posted, but in essence there's little difference between this and that aside from the forced absence of Dabo. In any case, Baronio might be average, but he's a much better passer of the ball than Dabo. Cruz is not starting solely because he hasn't been with the team long enough in Rocchi is in better shape, which is fair enough. In a 2 man attack, Rocchi is excellent anyway.

IMO I'd play Matuzalem where Mauri is, and start Foggia as trequartista, but in Davide Ballardini we trust.
