Ok...Sgt Pepper posted a text were De Biasi expressed his feelings about Mauri. We know that they have worked together before, and we know that it worked quite well. What do you guys say, if they would actually make a move? Mauri had a shitty last season, but still we know that he can be an important player if things get back to what it used to be with Mauri.

I think that if Torino or any other club made a move suggesting players in exchange that we need , or giving us a fair amount of money, we should let go of Mauri since I think a player like Foggia or even Matuzalem can replace him. Depending a bit on what formation Mister will use, I think we can come up with sufficient quality to replace him...

(maybe this post should go under rumours? If so, move it! )

reading the forum, seems a lot of laziali have lost faith in Stefano and his ability.

last season, it was not just him but the whole side who had poor seasons. this is just a message for people not go give up on Mauri, a season ago he was one of our best performers and broke his way into the national team, not just any national team, but the champions of the world.

he needs to work hard to find his own good form, but I hope that its a new start for Stefano because if he is back to his best, the team will be a lot better off.

No doubt Stefano has the talent and skills.... he proved it 2 seasons ago and was called up to the NT as mentioned above me. I think Mauri had a big helping in how well the team performed that season. He was immense. Its true he did not have the greatest of seasons last season but that can be said to a majority of the team. He was also injured and did not get as many chances to prove himself and show justice to his great abilities. Given more games this season and chances I am sure he will regain at least some good form and could potentially have a great season at Lazio. He is still one of my favourite players at Lazio and I hope he has a great season and impacts positively!

FORZA STEFANO MAURI!!!!

I have faith in him and i think that we will see the old Stefano this year. He knows that last season was a disaster for him as well for Lazio and that with that he ruined his chances for a place on the EURO squad. Italy really needed (among many other things) a unique guy like him. I'm happy he stayed.

I'd love to see him back in form because he can play so well off the forwards and at his best is able to set up very simple scoring opportunities as well as finding the net occasionally himself. He knows he has something to prove, so if he's going to shine, this is the season it will happen, IMO.

After what he did 2 seasons ago he became one of my favourite players in Lazio so even thoug he as the rest of the team had a terrible season last year I think he deserves a chance to start over and prove his abbilites and that he is an important part om our squad.

He deserves another chance, and we all know Stefano has the quality. However, I doubt his mental strength after seeing him falling like he did last year. It is true that we had a terrible year all through, but I think Stefano was the major failure and I am doubting he will shine again. We got more interesting players to fill his position this year. I hope he becomes the same class player that brought him to the national team...but I do not think so...

We should defo keep Mauri, he was an international a few years ago. He suffered last year with the rest of the team plus had alot of injuries. Fresh start and I think he can do well!

It is understood that Mauri is near to an agreement on a new contract and that he is "married to the cause". According to Corriere Dello Sport, Lotito is using the international break to try and organise contract renewals for Pandev (wouldn't that be hard because he is away playing for Macedonia, unless the agent is just negotiating?) and Mauri.

Mauri declares his wish to remain at Lazio:

http://www.goal.com/en/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=952971

Anybody else find it ridiculous that some of our players are aiming for survival while others talk about the UEFA Cup and even the Scudetto? I mean, what the f**k is our aim???

We should not listen to what some dodgy newspaper or webpage declare, I think the aim iis Europe . which would be a huge success...

Mauri staying forever? I dont know about that, but I do know that he works better as one of the three midfielders rather than one of the three attackers these days. If he is fielded, I reckon Foggia should also be played. Mauri could be our new Manfredini (only, he needs to run a bit more... cheers

Mauri's agent says unfortunately that he has only a 50% chance of staying after January.

whatever you think of him, he's always a good option to have. If he goes, we better sign a quality replacement to keep some depth.

I know it's probably just goal.com's misinformation at work again but boy, would it be sweet to get 7 million for a player who has had a handful of decent games in the last year and a half.

The problem with Stefano is I know the guy is capable of so much more and I would hate to see him leave to someone like Juventus and then have a great couple of seasons.

In addition to that, I don't want him at this club underachieving. I he stays, he needs to pull his socks up.
