Thats his new club Maybe in Canada he would actually start. Looks like Lazio are trying to activate some clause in the contract Eguren signed so we can have an extra non-EU place free. I think that's the hold up on Ederson and Golasa.

If he stays at Lazio I don't think he's going to play any football. Does anyone know why he failed his medical? and how bad any injury is? High blood pressure. Started a 2 week program to return it to normal, but they say he's in no condition to play football. Sounds dodgy to say the least.

I think it was something about blood pressure, but if so there are easy medications for that problem, probably this was just a made up story from the management when they realized they want Ederson instead of Eguren and this medical problem would kind of give them a loophole to ditch Eguren... you never know ;-)

| just in. Meeting in Milan in Via Rosellini between Claudio Lotito, Gilmar Rinaldi for André Dias, the defender of Sao Paulo, born in 1979. President biancoleste try to close in these last hours of transfer market. There is a willingness on the part of the Brazilian club. | |

- Management at Maccabi Haifa was stunned yesterday after learning that its 18-year-old prodigy, midfielder Eyal Golasa, had secretly flown to Italy and signed a contract with Italian Serie A side Lazio.
Golasa agreed to terms on a four-year deal worth 350,000 euros per season. As part of the deal his twin brother Oral will join the club's youth squad. Advertisement
On learning of Golasa's trip Haifa officials were reviewing their legal options.
"The club regards the midfielder's behavior with gravity," the team said in a statement. "The player has a binding agreement with the club. This case will be handled by the team's top legal advisor."
Members of Golasa's inner circle acknowledge that the move may have been inconsiderate, but it was nonetheless "legitimate". Golasa's family claims that the player was promised a new contract once he reached 18 years of age, and that the club failed to deliver.
"Any contract with the club thus has no validity and he is free for any club that wants him," said one Golasa insider.
According to the terms of his existing Maccabi arrangement, Golasa is listed as a youth player.
Attached to this document is an undertaking that he was to sign on turning 18, which was to activate a new contract binding him to the senior club.
That commitment was never signed.
"There is an agreement," a Haifa official said. "It stipulates that Golasa is to sign it at age 18 and to this day the player has not signed. There is an agreement that bears the signature of his parents, as his legal guardians."
Haifa officials felt cheated and swindled. They were caught unawares by Golasa's decision. In hindsight, management wishes it had been less complacent and insisted that Golasa sign the contract once he turned 18 years of age.
"Somebody apparently fell asleep at the wheel and didn't think the player would slip through their fingers," a team official said. "Now they are liable to find out that they lost one of the best talents that came up through their system, all for a lousy sum of money."
In recent months, Haifa officials held talks with family representatives regarding Golasa's future with the club. Golasa's mother, Mira, said the club offered her son a three-year contract worth NIS 1 million, an offer which they turned down.
The family did not present a counter-offer and the matter was left.
Maccabi Haifa has notified the family that it intends to sue for $400,000, which is the signing bonus the club awarded Golasa for the transfer from his youth club.
This dispute could well be headed to arbitration with Haifa filing a grievance with UEFA, claiming that Golasa's contract with Lazio is illegal.

Pass. There is a million between Inter and Lazio for Ledesma...He consulted Lotito and said not to repeat errors of the past.. Well at least Genoa's President may have talked some sense into him.. Genoa have removed interest and accept that Ledesma wants inter and thats it..

I mean it sounds like Golasa is on a free...the article posted earlier which i have read yesterday says he was a youth listed player...looks like we stole the best player in Israel under their noses... Seriously they need to get rid of Makinwa...does anybody want this guy???? Even an english club...Wolves...Hull..somebody... quick question..why did we sign Eguren on a contract if he had serious issues such as high blood pressure?
