I think we need to get quite a few players out of the squad, but when that is done, I think also the central defence needs to be made more secure. I am not sure that Reja will stay, but no matter what I am not a fan of a three men back line and I think a stable central defender is needed as much as always, and Yepes could have been that one. Puh...feels a bit shaky to start discussing future transfers already...first we need to be secure in staying up, then we have a world cup this summer that can influence the mercato drastically depending on how our and other players that are a part of a NT will perform...

I think we need to act before the World Cup if we are hoping that some of our big names attract even bigger clubs. We do not want to be left cashing in with nothing behind them to go into a new Serie A season with.

Hahahaha... love it... I agree about midfield, it was by far the weakest area of the team this season. It depends on the aformentioned Matuzalem, Hitz, Brocchi and Ledesma - if all stay and/or are fit then with Mauri + one other I think we look OK - for central players. We will need the LB/LWB replacement for Kolarov and like you said, maybe a reserve Lichti, although I think Diakite could be a very good maurading RB, as we have seen on occasion!

I think we should try to keep Lichty, but his price might sky rocket if he has a great WC. As for Kola I think we need to get him out in any cae,but before or after WC??? Muslera must stay, and he should be oferred a new contract that is good enough that he signs it straight away!

| Firstly, Lukovic.... a woeful player to be avoided at all costs.
I hope Hitzlsperger doesn't stay. Extremely overrated, not worth the wages that he commands. Let him go to England.
Carrizo - send him back to River Plate and entice a talent like Augusto Fernandez to come across to Lazio (I believe this may be on the cards).
Bresciano - I've said before an Aussie at Lazio would rock but it pains me to admit that he is Palermo's version of Mauri. His once fantastic performances have become more and more inconsistent.
Sammarco would be solid addition.
No mention of Giuseppe Sculli from Genoa? Would love to nab him.
Brocchi would be the only out of contract player I'd keep.

Muslera must stay, and he should be oferred a new contract that is good enough that he signs it straight away! I think we should sell Kolarov as soon as money comes in for him at this stage of the game. I mean, we are relying on too many variables here to increase his value. No guarantee he will start for Serbia, have a great tournament personally, that Serbia will have a great tournament, that his value will skyrocket etc. Just let him go and ensure we don't have another dissident come pre-season in July. As for Lichti, he is undoubtedly limited and if he has a great tournament and if considerable money comes in for him (say, for example, 10 million) then I think we should seriously contemplate selling him and reinvesting in other areas. I cannot see Lichti being any better in 3-4 years time than he is now. For me, he has already peaked. - Caput Mundi wrote:

I have to agree, often wondered how he was a Serie A player but as a back-up, I would take him. I like Gobbi a lot though and if I remember right, we were linked to him in the past...

| Yes to Sammarco. Very physical, damn near destroyed half our squad last year in the Coppa final and the league game.
I'd pass on all others, Sculli sounds tempting but the experience with Biava suggests we could do without Genoa rejects. Of course there's Flocc on the other hand...
My wish is: gamble on Kolarov, get every penny possible, keep Lichty at all costs, hardly anyone works as hard on the pitch as Stephan does.

| Keep Lichtsteiner, sell Kolarov and Carrizo, renew with Brocchi and Ledesma.
Sammarco would be a terrific signing, as would someone like Coda or Gobbi. Sculli would be a gamble but I'd tempted.

| A question, Ledesmas contract will expire when?
And what has Ledesma said about staying in Lazio after the problems with Lotito ?

And what has Ledesma said about staying in Lazio after the problems with Lotito ? Next summer, right? Well, who knows what Ledesma thinks. usually it is his agent talking, and he always underlines that there is lots of interest for his player...but that has been the saga before as well, but he is still with us so it is hard to say what wil happen with Ledesma...

He´s shown that he is a top class midfielder since he started play again, that´s for sure. Just hope and pray that we could keep him.

| I think we should also look at the relegated clubs.
Tiberio Guarente from Atalanta would be fantastic, if indeed they do go down. We've been linked to him before and he is excellent - creative, scores goals and excellent on free kicks.
Pulzetti from Livorno isn't great but Lazio have been interested before.

Buying Guarente, Floccari and eventually another young midfielder would be just great! I couldn't find if he has some relegation clause in his deal.

Guarente is a very good player. I've liked him since his Verona days and was excited when I read Lazio were interested in him a while ago. No disrespect but I couldn't believe he went to Atalanta in the end. However I read Napoli and Fiorentina were interested in him few months and his club's relegation will attract a lot of interest. Good point about the relegated clubs Caput. Most players at those clubs aren't anything special but certainly Guarente and Pulzetti are worth a look, as are Siena's Maccarone (if Cruz leaves) and Codrea IMO.

Would be a good idea. But for this, we first need a new president. Our one will not pay for this.

He was severely overrated here in my opinion; we had the best squad in Europe and failed miserably... Nooooooo, come on... Usually I don't feel any obligation to defend Swedes, but when it comes to Eriksson I do. Not because of his nationality but because of the fact the he gave me something I will never ever forget. So I'm gonna go the complete other way here and say that he was underrated, if anything. The atmosphere he created by certain extremely difficult decisions and actions was a key for Lazio taking the Scudetto away from Milan and Juve. Money doesn't cover that. I have no intention to start a debate but I just wanted to type that down
