Uruguay were playing for a draw as far as I could tell and it is a credible result.

Muslera made a world-class save in first half! Nice!

France only looked dangerous with the man advantage, which doesnt say much about them at all. Theres quality in that side but they should have replaced domenech after Euro 08.

Muslera was assured and confident in goal. Excellent save in the first half, becoming an excellent player.

France are an absolute joke, mainly down to that idiotic clown of a coach - how has he racked up 70 odd games as national manager? Lets play Govou for most of the match as he is so on fire, oh yeah, I'll throw on a striker out wide, and lets sub Anelka for a legend who has hardly played all season.... I really really hope they don't win a game like in 2002.

Uruguay looked poor too, Forlan and Muslera aside. If they had a midfield to supply Suarez and Forlan they may have been able to do something.

Anyway, onwards to S Korea - Greece and Argentina - Nigeria - lets hope for Messi magic... oh and did someone mention England are on tonight?

Argentina look sharp, yes, Gutierrez at right-back is a worry but this is the squad to beat.

The Argies looked alright, good team spirit, strange starting selections admittedly but subs were high quality. Maradona coming across more as bold than mental at the minute.

Altitude does seem to be a factor and the midfield appears to be fresh; just wonder if that justifies leaving out the Inter boys...

Higuain was wasteful, Milito would have done better given the same chances. Play him in the next one.

Should have taken Zanetti for sure and played him at right back. There defence is suspect and needs tightening if they are to go all the way.

Maradona has a real penchant for Gutierrez but perhaps Burdisso at right-back for the next one with Gutierrez out left instead of Di Maria?

Higuain and Di Maria were very very bad. Respect to Veron. Even at 35 he chased and attacked like he's 19! Hasn't lost the touch for those killer passes.

Yeah, Burdisso would be better at RB for sure. They need to tighten things up if they are to go all the way in my opinion. Anyhow, 3 points and a dominant performance. Just not the finishing required at this level.

South Korea was very good against Greece. I was really impressed. A well deserved victory and should have scored more. The Greeks were very poor. No coordination, no effort, no real chances either. They looked blunt.

Argentina deserved all 3 points. Wasted some good chances but their spirit and attitude was superb. Veron is still my favourite football player ever and again he was brilliant. How I would love to see him at Lazio again! Messi played well - set up Higuain but he stuffed his shot up (Milito really should have started ahead of him and I hope he does against Korea), and should have scored himself. Some strange decisions by Maradona but good to see them get all 3 points.

Didn't see the match but England - US drawing is not too surprising. Why was Milner subbed around the 30th minute? If Algeria or Slovenia get a win tomorrow then that group could become very interesting.
