| Kolarov will be starting for Serbia. I'll still support him while he's a Lazio player so come on the Serbs! Australia kick off at 4am. It's currently just past 11pm. So spare a thought for those of us who don't live in a decent time zone for this fantastic month. | |

| another boring half of football. Kolarov had a chance from a free kick but this time he decided to use more technique than power. nothing happened | |

| i don't really understand antic ! Not starting Lazovic? prefering Lukovic ahead of Subotic ! Who's seen Subotic with Dortmund would say that he's one of the top defenders in the world at the moment ! weird decision by Antic ! | |

| Well Ed, there was a lot of pressure on our team, given that Algeria seems to be the only beatable team for us and the only chance to achieve something. Slovenia played the worst game in the last year, they were just too nervous... so it's understandable. And the field was very difficult, the artificial grass is very quick and the Jabulani doesn't help either. And don't tell me Uruguay and France showed more...
Historic win for us... SLOVENIA!!!

| Haha, should have expected that Sile! I'LL YELL LOUDER NEXT TIME!Sorry to slate your team Edi, it was obviously a big occasion for you and the Slovenia team, I just wish that they had gone out and shown some skill and decent play to get the win. It was not as if Algeria were playing much better than you were so I'd have hoped for more - especially from Novakovic up front, and why did Khrin not get on, he at least would have added some skill. France were certainly miserable, awful considering where they once were and that game will quickly fade (actually it has already, who did they play? ) from memory too. Serbia were as bad, slow, poor passing, no intelligent attacking moves - so far no European team has impressed. Lets see what Kris and Chris's Aussie boys do against the new-look Germans, if they get something out of that then it really will be looking a poor showing from Europe. | |

| Fucking boring, but I watch the games without sound...seriously contemplating not watching anything until I am sure there are no fuckin african dancing community joining for a jungle trumpet fair inside the stadiums. The games have been fairly dull so far, and the motherfucking vuvuzelas make things even worse. It would be sort of ok if they blew their horns while their own tribes (read: ghana, rsa, nigeria, cameroon, ivory coast) went out to play, but when I hear this annoying sh1t when germany is playing australia it just becomes too much. | |

He's awesome. Some ppl even predicted he'll start cause this guy (don't know his name) is well know for his shaky performances. Mboli ( the reserve) was in Man U 2-3 weeks before the WC for 5 day training. Van der Saar said he's a great keeper. zi germans won.....

| Fantastic performance and result for Germany. Attacked from the first minute. Well done! The Aussies took a real pounding. Will be difficult to progress now, especially with Cahill's ridiculous sending off ruling him out for the next 2 matches (?). He did not deserve a red for that tackle.
Glad to see Ghana winning as well. Hope they advance to the knock out stages. Serbia were awful.
As for Algeria - Slovenia it was an uneventful match but understandably so as both sides were nervous and did not want to risk much. Feel bad for the goalie, more unfortunate than Robert Green IMO. That group has become interesting.
Interesting fact, all 3 matches produced a red card!

| Nah I reckon the red on Cahill is fair. They were warned in the prematch friendlies that their tackles would result in red cards in the World Cup, by Pim Verbeek no less! He tried to pull out and but when you go in late, from behind with two feet you're risking a lot. I believe they're appealing the decision though so hopefully he avoids a ban somehow.
Seriously though, that was to be expected. The lack of quality in the Aussie team means that they were never going to get anything off the Germans and will be lucky to get many points off the other teams either.
Pim Verbeek's inability to coach turned it from a respectable loss to the most embarrassing performance Australia has put in on the world stage.
The Germans look really good. I like the attacking style they play and Mezut Ozil is a fantastic player. Could've been more than 4.
