I was following him since last year once he was playing with River in the clausura, and at that time a posted my worries than he is not the next big thing in the GK positon in PDL forum.

I said it before, I didn't see any Carrizo factor in every game we played except one good save from Ghazal (Siena strker) earlier, I still call Peruzzi's exceptional performances between seasons 05-07 where he many times saved our day...Carrizo should recall that he is here to replace Perruzi and being Argentina 1st chioce GK (that is up until last game) is not an excuse to critizise Rossi's decisions (that most of us disagree with) to bench you!

Great applauses for Muslera, he kept working hard and now he gets the fruits of his work, I wish if Carrizo the dribbler speak less and work more on his skills!

for me, I'd keep Muslera and bring back Tommaso Berni, who's been impressive at Salernitana.

I think we could make a profit on Carrizo if we sold him while he's still number 1 for Argentina.

He doesn't want to change his style and work hard to improve then there's no place for him at Lazio.

PostSubject: Re: Juan Pablo Carrizo   Juan Pablo Carrizo - Page 7 EmptySat Apr 04, 2009 1:01 pm

I always liked Tommaso Berni and had faith in what I saw from the very few games he got for Lazio. After Peruzzi retired I taught the #1 spot would be between Ballotta and Berni and that Lotito would not buy any other goalkeepers but he did - 5 in fact over 2-3 seasons (Arenas, Berni, Muslera, Degre, Carrizo).

Arenas is no longer here. Berni is out on loan. Muslera is doing well. Degre is in the Primavera. Carrizo is whining.

My point is Lazio have too many goalkeepers and surely at least 1 needs to be sold. No point in keeping 3 in the first team and loaning another out. Keep 2 in the first team and 1 good talented keeper in the Primavera.

Degre is good for the future even though he is not much younger than Muslera. Berni is very reliable (perhaps more as a 2nd choice though). For me it is between Carrizo and Muslera.

Every day I am getting more pissed off at JP for the way he is acting and quite frankly I would not mind seeing him leave this summer. I think he can become a very good goalkeeper in Italy in the future but he needs to shut up, stop dribbling, listen to suggestions and work hard like Fernando did. Well done Muslera. Not one little bitchy fit from the guy. Mind you I do think it would be easier to learn and accept being a second choice keeper to one such as Ballotta, like Muslera had to, rather than a guy who is roughly your age with just as much experience you and was not even considered as player for his NT until just recently (as is the case with Carrizo). Its no excuse but just something I keep in the back of my mind and know is perhaps true.

For me the Carrizo case has two choices.... (1) either he accepts to go out on loan next season to a mid table Serie A club, or (2) he is sold off and Lotito cashes in on him as much as he can while he is still younger and the first choice Argentinian goalkeeper (like Testa pointed out) and bring back Berni from his loan spell in Salernitana.

I doubt his attitude will change much so I don't see him buckling down hard and training to improve and stay here. Its sad but probably true....

i think we should sell carrizo while he still 1st choice of argentina NT , and we use the money from carrizo's transfer to buy a player ( but not goalkeeper ), i agree with bobbi , i think berni is a good player and we should recall him . so , muslera is the 1st choice , berni 2nd , degre 3rd .

this is the quote that gets me, "è il mio stile, ma non cambio". Its my style but I wont change.

JP, to be successful in Italy you're gonna have to change your style like Julio Cesar did.

he has potential, but he'll never be good enough cause of his attitude. Muslera just shut up and worked and IMO the fans were harsher on him than they are on JP.

for what its worth, Ballotta met with Lotito and he says to focus on Muslera and even that Berni is better than both. From all reports Berni has been Salernitana's best player since he arrived and is doing a lot to help them stay up. I havent seen him play there yet but I hope RAI show a Salerno game soon.

Muslera has shown his true quality this season, and has been an asset to the Lazio sqaud. Carrizo conversly has moaned, played poor more often than not and dribbled againt opposing defenders, which really winds me up. Hes heading for the door.

Quote :
Rossi: Carrizo should shut up
Saturday 4 April, 2009
Lazio boss Delio Rossi has warned Juan Pablo Carrizo that publicly insulting his club is no way to get playing time.

The goalkeeper complained bitterly this week at the fact he is first choice for Argentina, yet cannot get a game at the Olimpico.

“Dirty laundry should not be washed in public,” snapped Rossi. “Perhaps we’ll have to change things seeing as some players like to make statements to the media instead of to me.

“If that is the way it works here, then I will adapt and if I have to say something I’ll do so through the newspapers.

“It is pointless for them to moan to the media anyway, as it would be better to ask their own Coach to get the reason behind the decisions.”

Carrizo’s return to the field at international level wasn’t exactly morale-boosting, as Argentina lost 6-1 in Bolivia for a World Cup qualifier.

“Like all players Carrizo is in a hurry, he wants everything immediately and thinks only in individual terms,” continued the Lazio Coach.

“Right now [Nando] Muslera is doing well and it is only right that we continue with him in goal.

“Deep down Carrizo knows he needs to improve, otherwise he’d be foolish. I don’t care if Diego Maradona picks him, it’s not like a commandment handed down by the Bible, is it?”

The Biancocelesti take on Siena on Sunday and hope to get back on track following some slip-ups.

“I expect a very difficult game against a side that knows how to play football, but we can get a result in any arena.”

Certainly. However, I like seeing coaches do this. Last week, Steve Bruce (Wigan manager) came out and told the fans that Amr Zaki (their star player) was unprofessional due to his reluctance to return from International duty. He did this because he felt the fans should know what kind of person they were chanting for in the stands.

I don't like the idea of Rossi sitting on the fence and saying nothing. Nobody knows what Carrizo said and didn't say so any honesty on behalf of the coach is appreciated. Perhaps Delio has done this in the wrong matter but still, it's a step forward.

I conducted a poll at theoffside asking the readers if they thought Carrizo should stay, go or if they were undecided. 23% said he should go, 20% were undecided but 57% said he should stay. I was surprised by this but I guess it goes to show how much faith the tifosi still have in this guy. On top of that, the poll was closed before Muslera's mistake against Siena.

I think it is that kind of examples that we need! Every player who signs with us has to know that they will has to fight 100% or else they won't be paid.. And if they do such stupid things like this (Carrizo) then I think it's the right thing to do, and to fine them!

What I hate about this is not the fact he's been fined for his outburst, just that it is another sign that is reminiscent of the poor morale and team treatment of Mutarelli, Zauri and the like. We've already had the Cribari problems this season and no news on any important players contracts, it just seems like player morale and general conditions are not good. I don't really know what is best about the Carrizo situation, I just feel we waited so long to get him and then to shift loads of blame on to him is harsh when Siviglia et al are still playing and have less to give in the long run... problem of having two young keepers who aren't going to wait around... seems like JP is the scapegoat and will be gone whatever, which is a shame.

I pity the guy, he seems lost in Lazio...Today he tried, really, but the second goal was terrible goalkeeping. scratch

I hope we'll give this guy a second chance next season, he'll do great when he gets a grip on Serie A. Muslera has been excellent recently and I'm sure he'll be the first choice. In Carrizo tough i have alot of confidence he's a big guy and he offers security, he'll be a real champion if we'll he give him some more time. The issue is that we might end up with two highly capable goalers, which we'll be only good for us since we can get a very good deal for one of them. I don't want to see Carizzo leave now since we'll surely make a loss!

And now as Zaragoza has emerged as having an interest in getting him, he spoke in media straight away saying that he is interested in a move there, more than staying.

I had higher hopes for this lad. Turned out to be nothing but smelling as for us...

Zaragoza didn't accept out 7 Million Euro's offer for Matuzalem, the stumbling block is that they want the loan of Carizzo inserted into the deal. Personally i would do this. Can't see another reason why not too.

The fact of the matter is Muslera and JP played a similar number of games last season and one notably outperformed the other.

There are reasons for this but the better option has perhaps emerged and JP is not willing to fight and reverse the outcome.

So, the club don't want to loan him, they want to sell him or force Zaragoza to take him permanently I believe.
