| Sounds like JP wasn't at fault for the last minute equaliser and made a decent save earlier. It's a shame he has got in when the whole team seems to be under-performing. This is part of the report from the game:
Argentina perhaps played the better football of the two teams in the first half, but they lacked creativity in their game, as the likes of Juan Roman Riquelme and Lionel Messi had little impact on the match.
After the break Argentina picked up their game a touch, but although they played in Peru's half they could only manage to keep possession of the ball, and never really threatened the Peru goal.
Peru crept into the match in the last half an hour, and they almost went ahead in the 75th minute when a Johan Fano header was kept out by Juan Pablo Carrizo.
Minutes later a powerful Juan Vargas drive flashed inches wide of Carrizo's right post, to the relief of the Argentine camp.
But minutes later Argentina finally went ahead when Esteban Cambiasso met a superb ball from Fernando Gago at the front post with a clever finish.
However, the match was to have one final twist, as in the final minute of injury-time Vargas slipped a precise ball into the area from the left wing and Fano slid the ball home to give Peru a share of the points.

| Probable Starting XI: Carrizo – Zanetti (c), Coloccini, Demichelis, Heinze – Mascherano, Ledesma, Cambiasso – Messi, Agüero/Milito, Sand/Di María
did Carrizo start in the previous game? and is that our Ledesma ?

| Carrizo was okay against Uruguay. I don't see why he is being critized for his Serie-A start. He have been pretty solid imo, of course we expect him to get better but it takes time for a GK to settle with the team. Even hard when he is young and playing in a european league for the first time. | |

| I am one of those who have criticized Carrizo and here's why.
He is a keeper with extreme potential, he has pulled off some amazing saves like the shot against Kaka' which he somehow manage to stop. But at times, he does not try hard enough. There have already been some examples of this, I do not know if he is just lazy or gives up too easily. It has been apparent in the goals we have conceded, Seedorf and Pato's goal in particular.

| well about Seedorf's goal Carrizo didn't move simply because there are 7 meters of net infront of Seedorf and he can not know where the ball is going and Seedorf is too far to be intercepted | |

I thought the least he could do was pressure Seedorf seeing as the entire defence was 'beaten' but he didn't. He just waited and waited without doing anything. If he had pressured Seedorf, he could have force an error. Seedorf had all the time in the world to blast a shot. And I am talking about several occasions this has happened, not just this. As the last line of defence, he needs to stop giving up too easily. I hope Delio has a word with Carrizo on this.

| Carrizo until now was a good Gk,Darren.I know everybody has an opinion, but here you're wrong.Who played/plays football, knows what is a Gk able to do.Maybe at Kaka's goal,he wasn't staying in the right place, but we can't blame him.The big problem is the defence, cause if we don't sign a decent CB,we could say next year too, that we have an average GK.In the match against Lecce there were people who said, that the goal was Carrizo's foul, but they're wrong. When a defender is beaten in that kind of situation, the Gk needs a miracle to do something. Roman_Eagle is right... Carrizo is a player who gives confidence, but what can he give ex.to Siviglia is -8 years. We need a CB! | |

| The most important chilean newspaper said this today ... The former argentinian NT's GK Oscar Passet says about Carrizo: The best: Is the best argentinian goalkepper in this moment. Is quick, great reflex determined to go. Not flyer. He knows to do with the ball. The worst: Take too many risks with the ball in their feet. Always want a clean dribble, and sometimes is better throw it so far. | |

Roman_Eagle is right... Carrizo is a player who gives confidence, but what can he give ex.to Siviglia is -8 years. We need a CB! A GK doesn't just wait in the goalpost for a striker to score. Most keepers would rush out to pressure and close down any space. That is the basic. I have played football and when I was younger as a keeper. I know what a keeper is able and not able to do. Take this example: A striker is one on one, is a keeper supposed to just wait in the goal and give the striker all the time in the world to shoot? 99.99% is a goal, unless it is a blunder from the striker. As for the Lecce goal, the ball took an awkward bounce and it would be difficult for Carrizo to save it. But he could have at least tried instead of just conceding the goal is already scored. We may not have the perfect defence, and it is up to Carrizo to save them.

| Diego Maradona has been chosen as the new coach of Argentina!! it's no secret that Diego loves Carrizo style in goalkeeping... so I really think this means that our crazy GK will stay to be Argentina number 1 even when Ustari or Abbondanzieri are fully back from injured! | |

Abbondanzieri has been a bit nuts in the past too. Not Carrizo nuts, but on a few occasions, Abbondanzieri has looked like a volleyballer!

You forget to mention Lavezzi, who has many similarity with the legend especially because of the Napoli connection... As much as I want Zarate talent to be recognized by the world, I really don't want him to be injured or tired because of the National duties, so I really don't mind that he doesn't called up for the Argentina NT... at least for now... but for later, I really want him to play in the world cup It will be amazing if we have many players in the Argentinian world cup team... Carrizo, Zarate and maybe Fernandez...
