What are you trying to book Sile? My best experience with the Italian railways has been to just buy a ticket at the station. :O you're not joking.... this was it! Oh my..

| I was wondering if one of our Croatian members could settle once and for all how you pronounce Prso? Obviously you know he played for Rangers and I was really wondering how to pronounce it correctly. Watching Liverpool and Skrtel got me thinking again.
Is it 'Purso' or 'Preeso' or something else?

| any tips for a terrible defensive player? i've gotten caught at the back a few times playing in an intramural league up at school and let in at least one goal due to poor defending. i can contain an opponent, but i never know when, or how, to dispossess them. for example in a one on one situation, i just back track, trying to stay in front of them and not get beat, but if I ever go for the ball, i lose. any advice? is it just an instinct? note i'm not big enough to out muscle anyone for the ball either. | |

| just stay in front of him and wait for the right moment to get the ball or if it doesn't come wait for him to make the move ( he will make a move cause he must go around you some way ) and make sure you have enough time and space to act properly and/or close him down and get the ball | |

| The most important thing is to not rush, stand your ground (even when tracking back if that makes sense) and don't dive into to challenges. Watch the ball, never the players feet and try and stick a foot in when you can but do it in a way that you can recover if you miss the ball. | |

As soon as you start playing check to see which is your opponents strong foot. Never stand straight in front of him. For instance if he's right footed when you look at him stand just a bit to the left, so to make it difficult for him to turn to his right for a shot, and to encourage/trap him to go to his left and use his left foot more. This will give you a bit of an advantage. Keep an eye out for any other opposition players. He might try a dummy pass and then a dribble but if you know there's no-one coming to help then he can't fool you. When backtracking stand on your toes, not the heels or a flat foot (this is obvious) and you might try to spread your arms, I know that for some people this gives an illusion of less space to maneuver, don't go running like an airplane but just a bit away from the hips. Mind that you don't get caught for a handball. Use your shoulders. No matter your muscle when the player goes to pass you try and put your shoulder in there to get in front of him, slow him down or make him lose his balance. Don't use your arms otherwise it's a foul. Also use your legs, especially if the opposition player is a fast bugger, stick your leg out to catch him with your thigh, mind that your foot must be on the ground on contact otherwise it will look like kung-fu. It is a foul but you won't get a card or 2 minutes. Try a dummy of your own. When you see he's undecided what to do make a little move with the shoulder or a little step forward to scare him a bit, this works. Be nasty, tiny little kicks to the joints, push them with your chest, lean against them when they try to hide the ball, don't be afraid to step on their foot or anything. He'll do it to you. The best moment to dispossess the player is when you know which way he will go and then make a step in that direction, be very firm and attack the ball with your strong foot. Be decisive, go hard for the challenge and especially if you're about to strike the ball at the same be the one to strike it harder otherwise you will be the one on the ground with a hurting ankle.
