it seems more likely that he is going to leave after the euro. in all honesty the only thing ill be vexxed about is the fact he is using article 17 to leave hes snake plain and simple, it pains me to see a player leave for little money. ciao valon believe me your memory on our team wont last long

I like him as a player but he has shown us 0 respect to Lazio on this occasion.

Choosing to leave through this way is just despicable. Lazio gave you your big break and this is the way you repay us? By returning us less than 50% of what you are worth? I won't miss him at all. Why can't he leave with a good image?

What does Article 17 say?

Article 17 deals with the compensation that must be paid for a breach of contract, principally but not solely the value remaining on the contract, plus a pro rata sum towards the player's original cost, if applicable. For example, player X, age 25, joins club Y for £6m on a four-year deal in summer 2004, on wages of £50,000 a week. In summer 2007 he can breach his contract by paying his club compensation of £2.6m for the value of his remaining wages, plus £1.5m for the amortised value remaining on his original transfer fee, or a total of £4.1m. Lampard signed a five-year deal in 2004, so can breach this summer for two years' wages, or about £8m. (His original £11m price tag in 2001 has already amortised to zero).
Gerrard signed a four-year deal in 2005, so could breach in summer 2008 for one year's wages, or about £5m. As a Liverpool youth product, there is no transfer cost to factor in. He is also beyond the cut-off age (23) where Liverpool could claim development costs.

It might appear disrespectful to use articolo 17 in order to get out the door, but in this situation I am in full understanding of Valon Behrami´s decision. He has been paied way below what he probably could have earned at other clubs and we have a President who is known for demanding astronomous over prices for his players.

With other words. By using articolo 17, Valon Behrami can with all certainty choose between more clubs than he would ever have been able to if anyone would even want to meet Lotito´s fantasy prices.

Yes, it´s a shame that players leave this way, but you should blame the way our club is being managed under Lotito rather than you should blame a player who just wants to leave one big mess called Lazio.

From a sporting point of view, I don´t really care that Behrami leaves us. He is a good player, but he is injury prone to say the least and his role in the team is in my opinion not clearly defined. A decent management could quite easily replace him, whether that counts for Lotito as well I honestly have my doubts. But well, that´s more tragic than Behrami leaving us

it's hard to see a player of his talent and fight leave, we'll need to find a suitable replacement. i'm just glad we have de silvestre to cover the right back spot.

it's sad how our talented players have always to leave.. he's a great player with a great heart! we're gonna miss him for sure!

Valon will lose my respect if he leave Lazio using (17) rule..... And so will Pandev altough he is my copatriot...

if it's true, i'll hate him for that. But until then, he still has my respect. For me he is a very talented player, one we should keep! He is still young and has a lote of room for improvement.

It would be a big mistake to underestimate his class and his potential. In a few years he can become one of the best wingers on the eurpoean fields if you ask me. But at the same time I can understand his will to play for a really big team and make some good money....

So no hope what so ever to keep the guy. Hes on of my favs, but if he leaves under art 17 then hes the kind of player i dont want here.

I actually can't beleive some people are describing Behrami as a mercenario.
He shouldn't have had the opportunity to use this rule in the first place, and who is
to blame for this? One person and one person only, lotirchio.

You people don't really beleive that today's players love the jersey do you? Maybe a
handful do but if they had to choose between big money or playing for their favourite club
beleive me 99% of them would choose big money.

Back to Behrami, he is being offered peanuts by lotirchio.....even the smaller clubs in
serie A can offer more so I don't see why he should have to accept another 5 years of
mediocre salary when he can make 3-4 times as much elsewhere.

Lotirchio is bringing this club to its knees, failing to renew important contracts before its too
late, failing to get people to the stadium, failing to communicate with the fans, failing to
give our club solid roots. basically he's failing in everything...and don't tell me that he saved us
bla bla bla.

Remember, if Behrami leaves there will be a long list of players following him in the near
future, unfortunately all our best players cause our pippas will happily stay knowing that
nobody else wants them.

Valon should have been offered much more than 650.000 per season as offered by Lotito.

It is ridiculous for him to stay at that salary.

He played 3 seasons being underpaid (as most of other players) - 400.000 euros per season.


Now he has matured, improved and it is reasonable that he wants more money. He is at his peak and if Rocchi and such age was offered 1 million, than Valon should have been offered at least 900.000 euros and he would have stayed for sure at such rate.

This was, we are losing our most versatile player of our team and I am so sorry for that.

I have the same opinion about Valons leaving. It was pleasure to watch Behrami and De Silvestri running all over the pitch. Together with Radu I thought this is the Future of Lazio. Definitely we are loosing essential player and it will be difficult to replace him .
